Inspired by the beauty and tradition of New England farm barns, this home features a soaring two-story living room , open plan design, office/den, family room and lots of natural light. 3 bedroom, 2 full baths, sleeps 6. Comfortable living room with a freestanding fireplace and sliding glass doors to the deck. An upstairs family room with satellite TV, books and board games for children. A quiet working den with wifi, full desk for your computers and phones. Back deck overlooking private pond and wet lands. Teak patio dining table set and gas grill. This is a marvelous lot with green lawns, gardens and mature trees. Walking distance along a private tree lined road way to the best beach on BI - Mansion Beach and Andy's Way (Great Salt Pond.) Friday to Friday rentals only.

About Kate + Thomas

Our family purchased this home before it was even built! My dad is an architect who modified the classic barn design to incorporate the upstairs play room and larger windows. My mother, a landscape architiect, sited the house to look over the pond and planted the magnificent border garden around the front perimeter as well as the small orchard in the back. The house is filled with many books and games from our childhood summers on BI, and decorated with art purchased from local artists. Our family still enjoys the house for several weeks every year and maintain it ourselves.

You can walk to Mansion Beach - the very best beach in BI! You can walk the other direction to Andy's Way on the Great Salt Pond for clamming, sunsets and beachcombing. Because we look over a pond and wetland, the back porch view remains open, natural and serene. The green lawns, mature trees and landscaped gardens make this property a wonderful family retreat.

Our home is located a few minutes walk from Mansion Beach, one of the most pristine and beautiful beaches in New England. One can also walk to Andy's Way on the Great Salt pond for clamming ( license required), beach combing and birdwatching. Great sea bass fishing at the channel. BI has is over 60% nature conservancy land with well laid out walking trials, fabulous views and beautiful flowers. Great dining and music all summer long in town. You can NOT access our home on a motor scooter- please rent bikes instead!
