Paloma is a deluxe beach villa on the Riviera Maya.
A panoramic ocean view from all vantage points on one side of this estate and the entrance side of this villa a tropical jungle with a cenote on the street side the villa. The Tulum Ruins were one of the last cities inhabited and built by the Mayas; it was at its height between the 13th and 15th centuries and managed to survive about 70 years after the Spanish began occupying Mexico.
Inside the villa a double stairway entrance greets the guests upon entry into the villa. The kitchen is a chef's delight capable o accommodating the largest of festivities, and yet provides the intimacy of a small party. The three bedrooms on the second floor are all magnificent with either views of the reef off shore or with the sights and fragrances of soft breeze from the jungle. A special room on the first floor to share the tequilas and beverages of choice to quench the thirst and surrounded by the colorful blue ocean.
In addition, all necessary links to the world are available. Wi-Fi is available thru out the villa with
internet and telecommunications at no added expense. Docking for your favorite music and US
satellite TV is included.
The Jacuzzi and outdoor swimming pool designed to accommodate everyone, no matter the age.
Outdoor showers by the pool enable a refreshing rinse while feasting on the view of this tropical paradise.
During the stay daily maid services, daily beach and gardening services, and managing services are made available. This villa is located 10 minutes from Tulum shopping and dining; and, only 40 minutes from the thriving night life of Playa del Carmen. There is no other location on the entire
Mayan Riviera with such a distinction as offered by Villa Paloma.
The casa is designed to take advantage of Tankah bay with large bay windows facing the beach. Every window has a beautiful view to the pool, the beach and the water. The casa has many areas inside and outside you can choose as your favorite spot to sit enjoy your visiting with family or friends. The casa has a very nice pool maintained every day and nice beach chairs facing the bay. The grounds are well maintained and very pretty. Look out any window in the casa to see a beautiful view of garden, pool, beach or bay. Truth is this place is just great in so many ways, we've been coming to this part of the Yucatan for many years and so sorry we hadn't paid attention to this beach and this property earlier. We had the great fortune to have Chef Antonio along with his staff-our new friend Benito to help with grocery shopping, meal planning and the best breakfast and dinners you'll have anywhere. The service and meals alone are enough to warrant and return visit, but combine this with the peacefulness of the area, the amenities of the casa, the great view, the swimming and kayaking puts this place over the top. Can't say enough about this property and staff service-Any issues see Hurley next door or just invite him over for a good visit-great guy. Planning on a return trip soon and this place is our only choice, if Chef Anonio, Benito and the casa are not available when we plan to return we'll adjust the timing of of vacation. Just perfect!!!!!!!
Casa Paloma is a perfect location and exactly and even better than presented in the listing. The staff is beyond wonderful - so welcoming and helpful. A tremendous value we feel and we would return without hesitation. A beautiful boutique hotel one property away has delicious dinning and will do take out too. A supermarket with anything you might want is less than 15 minutes away. The thoughtful owner employs a concierge, Marion, who is like having a wonderful friend to tell you about all the special places to see and what activities to do and will make all the arrangements for you. Marion will suggest the best restaurants too and make the reservations of course. El Tabano, Centzontle, Unico are all 5 star rated by us! Everything about our time in Tulum was just magical and coming home to Casa Paloma made it even more perfect. We would not want to be anywhere else!
All as advertised at Villa Paloma. Great house .... great view.... amazing service from Marion - she helped set up massages, yoga and the Amazing chef Vidal who cooked us great food every night. Perfect spot for a few couples or a family to spend a week in paradise
We spent a week in this beautiful beachfront home in Tankah and our only problem was leaving it at the end. Most everything about this Villa is perfect. It is well maintained and spotlessly clean. The grounds are delightful, the pool is clear, clean and serviced daily. The staff are unobtrusive and very helpful.
We were welcomed by the property manager, Marion, who is delightful. She shared several ideas for activities and restaurants and popped in several times during the week to make sure all was going well. She was always just a text or call away though we didn't really have to bother her as everything was taken care of.
The beach in front of the house is fine white sand and cleaned and raked daily. The sea is a little rocky and water shoes are recommended.
Marion organized a Chef for one night so that we could enjoy a Gourmet dining experience at home. Manu was excellent and cooked a four course fish dinner that we will remember for a long time to come. His home made ravioli is the thinnest pasta we have ever had and simply to die for. He has recently established a small restaurant in Tulum and certainly deserves to succeed.
The Blue Sky Hotel, just two properties down the street, has an excellent restaurant and bar and made us very welcome. Their Margaritas are superb and deceptively strong. I would pass on the pizza though. In our view this is a much better choice than Casa Cenote, the other restaurant in Tankah. Other restaurants worth trying are Trattoria Roma on the main street in Tulum, Jashita on the next bay to the North and Oscar and Lalo on the freeway just 3 miles up the road.
Our most enjoyable activity was at Xplore, an adventure park about 30 miles North. Zip-Lines over the jungle and through waterfalls down into a cenote (caution, you do get very wet), Amphibious 4wd Vehicles, Rafts in the underground caves with amazing stalactites made it a very exhausting but exhilarating day.
Back to the house, our only slight niggles are the slow internet that kept needing to be reset (of course this is Mexico) and the TV that only had Spanish programming. They do have Apple TV and Netflix if you want to pay for them but we couldn't find any English Channels - not even CNN. With so much else to do we didn't really miss it too much but worth thinking about if you have kids. They have a nice stereo system with Bluetooth and a small selection of CD's.
If we come back to the Mayan Riviera this is certainly the place we will choose to stay.
Fantastic villa in a perfect location. Private and quiet on a beautiful protected bay and only 10 minutes from downtown Tulum. Villa is more beautiful and spacious than the pictures show. Located only steps from a great beach bar restaurant with great food (pizza and mojitos are great!), the villa offers everything you would want for an outstanding family vacation. It was a great house for five adults and two small children. The bedrooms are huge and it was a treat to wake up to the beautiful sunrises! The separate casita is perfect for guests that may want a little more privacy. The beach is nice but very rocky getting into the water so the kids played in the sand rather than in the water. It's quiet with not many people walking the beach and NO jet skis, boats, or loud music. The dive shop is just a few steps down the beach (and next to another great beach restaurant) and offer a great snorkeling trip for the family as well as scuba dives. Ask the owner of the dive shop to take your family for a boat trip to the Tulum Myan ruins. A beautiful view from the water. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need (we had a chef come and cook dinner three of the nights...great idea) and has a very nice bar area for drinks and appetizers. The pool is big but not heated so the water was almost too cold to swim and it has a huge hot tub attached but it also is not heated. (The ocean was actually warmer than the pool.) There is a huge new supermarket in town with everything you would want including an outstanding selection of liquor and wine.
I can't say enough about Marian, our concierge, she was there to greet us when we arrived and our wonderful maid that kept the villa spotless everyday and always made sure we had clean bath and beach towels and our groundskeeper, Ernesto, who kept the grounds and pool deck beautiful. He even climbed the palm trees to get us coconuts and chopped them open for us. Also enjoyed watching the two Iguanas that live under the pool deck near the house.
Communication with the owner and Marian was fantastic and compared to other villas in the area, Casa Paloma is a bargain. You won't be disappointed. We will definitely try to come back again.
Our every need was met and tended to at Casa Paloma. We were a group of 5 adults, and all of us were absolutely floored by the beauty of the villa. Our chef Victoria cooked meals far better than anything we found in town, and the days spent soaking up the sun were heavenly. Thank you so much for such an amazing place to stay!
My family and I just returned from a week stay at Villa Paloma. There was 9 in total, 7 adults and 2 kids (15 and 11). Our trip was so incredible and I cannot say enough great things. Marion was our point of contact in planning our trip and I didn't know really what to expect. She did so much helping us in the planning, but when we arrived her kindness and willingness to coordinate everything for was more than I could have imagined. She organized so many things for us, it is too much to write here, but she was amazing.
The rest of the staff was also great and made us feel so welcomed and comfortable. The house was always clean and comfortable. Ernesto cut down coconuts for the kids and would help with anything whenever we asked. We had an amazing chef and I can't say enough about Antonio and his staff. The food was so good and beautifully presented. It was so nice to have our meals prepared for us and enjoy the days.
The view at the house was breathtaking and we enjoyed so much time in the pool and kayaking in the ocean. There was quite a bit of seaweed daily, but Ernesto did his best to clean it up for us daily and make the sand nice and soft. The beach at the back of the house is slopped so we didn't spend too much time out there. It is true what you read about the rocky beach. Once you enter the water it is rocky and you can't really play in it. We would often take the kayaks out and go swimming further out in the water where it was more sandy and we could snorkel. The beaches are all sandy further down in Tulum and we spent two days there playing in the ocean.
We had three women over 65 with us and they stayed at the house almost all of time. They completely enjoyed there time there relaxing and visiting with the staff and chef. There were a couple of places they could walk to for drinks or a break and watch the people at the cenote right by the house.
I also like that it was close to Tulum, which is great and close to ruins and some of the parks. We had plenty to do without having to drive more than 45 minutes. Marion helped us plan things to do that would not be too long to travel to.
I would definitely return to Villa Paloma as we had a great time. I would like to also mention we talked to the owner a few times while booking and we was very receptive to emails and so nice and helpful on the phone.
