Amazing Luxury Home
Our family stayed 8 days on this incredible property. The house is wonderful. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need. It has a very large dining table with a view. Two large sitting areas with views of the ocean. It also has a very cool bar area equipped with blenders, juicers etc. Once you go up stairs it has three amazing bedrooms. The master is beautiful with an amazing view. All of the beds are super comfy. Showers were great. We also rented the Casita in the front. It is fully equipped. The house is beach front with a large private pool. It is within walking distance to three restaurants/beach bars: Blue Sky, Casa Cenote, and Cielo Maya. It is also within walking distance to a great Cenote. Driving to Tulum or to any of the many Cenote's is only a 10 minute drive. The manger, Marion, is there to greet you when you arrive. She explained everything about the house. Told us about the area, and she can also help setting up tours. The housekeeper came daily. She was amazing. The groundskeeper was also excellent. He kept the pool sparkling clean. He also swept all the porches.
I cannot say enough about how incredible this place was!! Myself, husband and 5 of our closest friends stayed for 8 days and it was absolutely perfect for our group. We could not have felt more at home with Pablo, our chef for the week, and Juanita and Cristobal who kept the house and grounds so clean and perfect. PABLO IS A CHEF SENT FROM HEAVEN. This man created meals that we will all dream about forever. It felt like we were eating at a 5 star restaurant for every meal! Marion, the concierge, was attentive and checked in to make sure all was good and if we needed anything, not to mention just a lovely woman to have met. The location was great; only about 10 minutes from the "downtown" area of Tulum. From the people, this gorgeous house, and the experiences had we will hopefully be back sooner than later!!
Great Villa at a Good Price
We spent a great week ((Feb. 16-23, 2019) at the Villa Paloma with another family. The parents were in the two large bedrooms and the four kids (ages 5-8) slept comfortably in the third bedroom in the main house. The other family's au pair enjoyed the casita at the front of the house. The kids loved the pool and the adults loved lounging in the shade by the pool. The house was beautifully built around 15 years ago and has delightful stonework, stained glass, and mahogany woodwork. There has been some deferred maintenance, such as missing screens, a few missing window bars, and peeling trim paint, which did not affect us except the missing screens meant that the chef wasted some air conditioning to avoid flies in the house while cooking. One couple stayed cool at night with open windows; the other couple preferred to use the air conditioner for the master bedroom. I highly recommend the chef, who made delicious, fresh, and elegant meals as well as evening cocktails. The house and grounds are kept neat and clean by the daily maid and the on-site caretaker. The only negatives of the beach, which are not particular to this house, were incessant wind and a lot of seaweed, which was dutifully raked every day but made the water less inviting. The shoreline is rocky due to a protective reef farther out in the bay, but the rocks are easily avoided by use of the hotel dock a couple of doors down (less than a 100' walk along the beach). We felt very safe with the guardhouse to the road and the caretaker on site. We enjoyed the cenote just a few minutes down the road, even the crocodile! Marion, the house manager, was a good source of suggestions for local activities. All in all, a good vacation of kids in the pool with some side trips to cenotes and Mayan ruins.
A great place for families!
If you are looking for a beautiful home that is away from the hustle and bustle of Cancun and Playa Del Carmen, then look no further! We came down with a group of 7 of us and it was big enough to get away and have privacy, but also the perfect size to have a group dinner overlooking a beautiful sunset. The bedrooms are very large and comfortable, the kitchen is great for cooking a quick meal and the bar area is great for a quick "happy hour" before dinner. The four outdoor porches are great to sip coffee in the early mornings or listen to the tradewinds as the sun goes down. Also if you are a family traveling with smaller children, the pool offers a great place for them to swim and have fun in the waiting pool or larger pool as well. The staff that works at the house is great as well, we always had a clean and well maintenance house. When there was a small, very minor issue, someone was there in 10-15 minutes to fix it. Also there were 3 above average restaurants within a very short walk that offered a variety of foods for both kids and adults alike. Needless to say, the next time we are looking for a place to stay in Tulum area, this will always be our first choice. Do the same and treat yourself and stay at this house!
