Friendly managers,clean apartment great location
Nice quiet apartment in a peaceful neighborhood.
The property was clean and spacious for two people. The location was awesome and we had our own covered parking spot.
Nice place. The landlord solved the internet problem. We enjoyed our stay!
Lovley appartment - kind and considerate Athenians
We walked everywhere including the Parthenon and back. The streets of Athens are not the most beautiful in the world but interesting even the graffiti was artistic. What stood out more than anything was the friendly nature of the Athenians, everybody particularly the young wanted to show how good their English was. The stunning views from the appartment were even better than shown in the photographs. Traditional Greek cuisine from the local resteraunt was a revelation(Bakalogatos) five hundred metres from the appartment. Low 20 degrees in early November, what's not to like?
Lovely apartment clean and airy but a bit far out of town
A bit difficult to get around as was further out of Athens then we realised. Did not even meet the agent and was suprised about this. Was given the key by a neighbour and spoke to Nikos on the phone.
I visited you twice during your stay and knocked your door, but both times you were not there. I'm sorry I wasn't there on your arrival but as I explained in the phone I was ill at your check-in and could not come but my assistant checked you in properly and without a problem.
The apartment's area is in the zone (A) of Athens and is considered as "Center". The distance to the sites is about 2,5 km and less than 1 km from the nearest commercial center. Time by taxi is 10-15' in traffic for 5-6 EUR.
Athens is a vast city of over 6 million residents and very expanded. It almost covers the whole Attica peninsula.
Some guests who live small towns of their countries have a different aspect for the distances in a big capital. For us Athenians, distances of 2-3 km is next door.
Thanks for taking a good care of my apartment.
A quiet neighborhood retreat in the city
We spent the last week of September 2017 in this apartment. Perfect apartment for two with patio, full kitchen, bath with a clothes washer and a bedroom with double bed. The bedroom window faces the street, and while mostly a quiet street, I wore earplugs to muffle the morning "go-to-work” traffic noise. There is a nice closet space in the bedroom. You have access to the rooftop terrace with view of city and Acropolis. Small grocery , sandwich shop and restaurants a short walk...easy going there because it is all downhill; a slower pace uphill to come back, but very do-able. At the square, taxis or catch Bus 2 or 4 to Omonia or Syntagma to pick up metro; we would taxi back at night. Nikos and son Alex welcomed us and were charming hosts with information and suggestions for local eateries. We highly recommend this apartment for your Athens stay...near enough to the sites, yet in a friendly neighborhood.
Our title 'Amazing View' gives literaly the picture of this property.
The (30kms range) views from the 24h accessible terrace is breathtaking.
It's more like flying over the city in a helicopter.
Acropolis, Piraeus harbour, the sea of Saronic Gulf and the islands Aegina and Salamina are just a few of the visible sights.
The apartment located at the sides of the mot central hill of Athens.
The Attica region
The mainland of Greece forms the southernmost part of the Balkan peninsula, in the north also including parts of the historical regions of Macedonia and Thrace, further to the south narrowing into a 'Greek peninsula' in its own right, including historical Epirus, Thessaly, Boeotia and Attica, and concluding in the separate peninsula of Peloponnese, comprising the historical territories Sparta, Corinth and Argos, all surrounding the peninsula's heartland of Arcadia.
As for Attica, the region is incredibly famous and unique for its breathtaking monuments and museums. A region with great history due to also being the birthplace of the famous philosophers Aristotelis, Sokratis, Aristofanis etc.
So why not come and explore the region for yourself !
The Athens / Nea Kipseli area
The location is 'Nea Kipseli', part of the center circle, which means that if you enjoy walking you'll need about 20 minutes to Omonoia square and through that to Plaka, the old town, the Ancient Market, the Acropolis and lots of other 'must see' monuments.
On the other hand, if you are the type of public transportation, you'll find several different bus lines in 100-150 meters range around the flat, taking to all main points of the city, ex. time by bus to Omonoia square 5-6', Syntagma 10', Mesogion ave 5-6', Acropolis (south side) in 12' etc.
If you are after all a practical type, you'll realize that you can have a call-taxi waiting for you right outside your door and take you to all places mentioned above before you know it, with only a few euros. Taxis are exceptionally cheap in Greece (Omonoia 4 eur., Plaka 6 eur, Acropolis 7 eur, etc).
In a range of 100m there are pharmacy, super market, grocery, bakery, butcher shop, tobacco, food take away, you name it.
As for the issue of safety, you can ask the little children playing out in the street.
In 5 minutes walk, about 300m there is the famous Fokionos Negri street, full of restaurants, coffee shops, pubs, clubs and any kind of night amusement.
