Perfect place to stay in the city.
Everything you need for a stay in the city.
Comfortable,clean spacious and cool.
Nikos was a very good host. He was easy to contact and very helpful.
The apartment was spacious, comfortable ,secure and cool in very hot July weather.
The view of Athens from the roof top is beautiful. We ventured down the steep hill to vibrant Kypseli square and had a delicious meal at a restaurant Nikos recommended.
It was a 15 minute taxi ride into the Centre of Athens and easy enough to get a taxi by walking 100 from the apartment. The taxi divers found it difficult to understand our accent when giving our home destination. For this reason Nikos has drawn a map and written down the address in Greek and 'Greeklish' take this with you!
Thanks Nikos, we enjoyed our stay in Athens.
Very nice apartment.
Nice large apartment. Two bedrooms, modern kitchen with refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and microwave. Elevator. Modern bath with shower. Cable TV. However wireless internet is erratic. Neighborhood is quiet. Restaurants, ATMs and taxis are at the bottom of steep hills. Nice views from the roof.
Divas Trip 2018 - The property description was spot on...
After spending the day in center city it was like coming home. The neighborhood was quiet, the view was fantastic and Nikos was THE best host. There were touches of hotel like amenities such as slippers, shampoo and nice fluffy towels. The major sites were just a short taxi ride away. The restaurant recommendations were nice treats away from the tourist areas. Nostalgia: The apartment has only one bathroom so with 4 sisters getting dressed in the morning and ready for bed at night, it brought back memories of the simple times in life, like who gets the bathroom first. Great property. Thanks Nikos!
The view of Athens and the Acropolis is amazing. Especially at night
We loved working with the property owner. He helped us to feel welcome and showed us how to get around the city and to make the most of our trip. The property was very secure and clean and had everything we needed. I can not think of anything that was lacking. I do wish I had brought my own blow dryer because I needed one that has a cool air option but that would be the only thing I would have needed to do different.
But there was a hair dryer (or blow dryer) in one of the closets.
You obviously did not find it. Apart of that you could ask for one and have it in minutes. We have spares for our apartments as these things usually suffer a "sudden death". Anyway, thank you Leslie for your kind words and appreciation.
Great apartment off the beaten path
We stayed 3 nights at this great apartment, just a short cab ride from all the attractions of Athens. The neighborhood is very quiet and there are many shops and great restaurants near by. We stayed with our two boys (7 &9) and found the apartment very comfortable. Will recommend to any friends heading to Athens.
Our title 'Amazing View' gives literaly the picture of this property.
The (30kms range) views from the 24h accessible terrace is breathtaking.
It's more like flying over the city in a helicopter.
Acropolis, Piraeus harbour, the sea of Saronic Gulf and the islands Aegina and Salamina are just a few of the visible sights.
The apartment located at the sides of the mot central hill of Athens.
The Attica region
The mainland of Greece forms the southernmost part of the Balkan peninsula, in the north also including parts of the historical regions of Macedonia and Thrace, further to the south narrowing into a 'Greek peninsula' in its own right, including historical Epirus, Thessaly, Boeotia and Attica, and concluding in the separate peninsula of Peloponnese, comprising the historical territories Sparta, Corinth and Argos, all surrounding the peninsula's heartland of Arcadia.
As for Attica, the region is incredibly famous and unique for its breathtaking monuments and museums. A region with great history due to also being the birthplace of the famous philosophers Aristotelis, Sokratis, Aristofanis etc.
So why not come and explore the region for yourself !
The Athens / Nea Kipseli area
The location is 'Nea Kipseli', part of the center circle, which means that if you enjoy walking you'll need about 20 minutes to Omonoia square and through that to Plaka, the old town, the Ancient Market, the Acropolis and lots of other 'must see' monuments.
On the other hand, if you are the type of public transportation, you'll find several different bus lines in 100-150 meters range around the flat, taking to all main points of the city, ex. time by bus to Omonoia square 5-6', Syntagma 10', Mesogion ave 5-6', Acropolis (south side) in 12' etc.
If you are after all a practical type, you'll realize that you can have a call-taxi waiting for you right outside your door and take you to all places mentioned above before you know it, with only a few euros. Taxis are exceptionally cheap in Greece (Omonoia 4 eur., Plaka 6 eur, Acropolis 7 eur, etc).
In a range of 100m there are pharmacy, super market, grocery, bakery, butcher shop, tobacco, food take away, you name it.
As for the issue of safety, you can ask the little children playing out in the street.
In 5 minutes walk, about 300m there is the famous Fokionos Negri street, full of restaurants, coffee shops, pubs, clubs and any kind of night amusement.
