Very relaxing! Beautiful spot with gorgeous views on all sides.

We loved exploring on foot. The area is so full of history, we felt we were discovering new treasures every day. A must: the small restaurant, Le Medieval, within a few minutes by foot. Great atmosphere, food and wine.

A beautiful property in a delightful setting

  • 5 of 5

After a warm welcome from Jean with his enthusiastic and clear explanation of how everything worked we settled in for a great week in this spotless, comfortable and very well presented cottage in a quiet village in Northern Burgundy. The first and second floors offer stunning views over the surrounding countryside and the ground floor looks out onto the small but pretty garden.

The village of Mont St Jean boasts an impressive castle and a pretty main street with some interesting buildings. There is only one restaurant but it is excellent - we ate their twice! Surrounding villages are also very attractive and the Morvan Park area is a delight. There are lots of interesting places to visit nearby including Fontenay Abbey and Vezelay. There is even a Zoo. Larger centres like Dijon and Beaune are within easy driving distance.

The cottage was a great choice for us as we wanted interest but also peace and quiet. We would definitely recommend to friends and relatives although not to anyone with mobility issues because the upper staircase is a little daunting.

Thank you Jean, we had a super holiday!

Wonderful property in the heart of Burgundy

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay and the house is ideal. It's set over three storeys with fantastic views. We loved having our meals out on the deck and woke up every morning to the dawn chorus of birds. The house has a great layout over three storeys with the bedrooms separated by the living room on the second floor, which gives privacy if you're using the second bedroom. The house has all the modern conveniences you need. We loved the traditional outside with modern interior and a really lovely garden. We would transport the house back home if we could, it's our ideal holiday home. The village itself is very quiet but it's centrally located to many great villages and towns. For walkers and runners there's an off-road path a couple of minutes walk away. We'd happily stay here again on our next trip to Burgundy.

Een paradijsje in Mont-Saint-Jean (Les Bergeries)

  • 5 of 5
