A wonderful experience!

  • 5 of 5

From the time I located this adorable cottage our experience and stay was exceptional! The owners response and attentiveness was spot on! Our 2 sibling families (6 people total) enjoyed the outdoor fireplace every night, spent the day at Cedar Point (about a 20 minute drive), returned to town for lunch & a power nap, to then ride, ride, ride & close the park down. Loved, loved, loved that everything you could possibly need was provided! Plus, the place was very clean! I really hesitate to rave much more about this gem, to keep it hidden and available for our return visits!

Clean, nice and quiet

  • 5 of 5

Just a a block from the lake, the cottage is in a clean quiet neighbor hood. The cottage has been restored and still retains it's original charm. The outdoor fire place is a nice bonus. Dan was easy to contact and responsive when we arrived.

Comfy, Quaint and Nice Location!

  • 5 of 5

You never know what you might get when you book a vacation house online. Despite the always pristine pictures and flowery descriptions with these types of things, sometimes you are disappointed with the results. This was certainly not the case with this historic tudor cottage. Our family of four (My wife, two young boys and me) spent three days and two nights at this delightful cottage at Bluebird Beach in Vermilion. Dan met us when we checked in and showed us the many amenities. They included a full furnished kitchen, several beds, towels and linens and little touches of home on the lake. (Make sure you look for the sculpture of an impish gnome's face in the ceiling corner above the interior fireplace!) The bathroom and shower are a new addition and a pleasant surprise with the multi-jet hot tub! We also loved the outdoor fireplace porch and took full advantage of the firewood (even though it was a warm night). We also made use of the outdoor grill and easily served a steak dinner with fresh corn on the cob from a local vendor.

The beach is only a 3-minute walk from the cottage. Not a huge amount of room to spread out, but ample for relaxing by the water. (My son loved the flattened out rocks under the sand and spent a lot of time skipping stones!). All-in-all, a quiet neighborhood and a nice location to take in all of the northwest shore of Lake Erie's many destinations.

We are a little reluctant to give such a great review, because it would be nice to keep this a "best kept" secret, but we also thought that we should share our experience with those who are looking for the perfect "old school" Lake Erie experience!

Thanks again to Dan, who was a gracious host who was always on call to answer a question or let us know where things were!
