Overview

About the property

3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom (Sleeps 6)

This newly remodeled vacation home is a quaint expanded cape with peekaboo views of Barrells Mill Pond. It is in a quiet neighborhood, a stones throw from the Wiggly Bridge and a short walk to the York Harbor Beach, historic York Village, the town docks and marina. The house was recently remodeled with a relaxing modern beach theme, complete with a new kitchen and master bedroom with en suite bathroom. The second floor bathroom has been remodeled for 2016. The large front deck has also just been completed. There is plenty of room for 6 people with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room, family room, and kitchen. There is a shady backyard with newly installed patio with views to Wiggly Bridge and a small front porch that comfortably seats 4 people. The master bedroom has a queen bed with two twins in each of the other bedrooms.

York is a popular beach community with history, charm and accessibility. First settled in 1624 and the first incorporated city in America, the area offers a myriad of fun things to do including relaxing on the beach, fishing, sightseeing and shopping. It is home to the John Hancock Wharf and Mark Twain's Summer home and is an area which still has architectural examples from the Gilded Age, particularly the Shingle style.

My husband, son, and I met up with my parents for a relaxing long weekend. The house was just as described. Everything is beautifully updated. Perfect location and plenty of room for the 5 of us. We hope to return!

Great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

The Cape House was just perfect. Very nicely decorated, clean and in a great location to walk to attractions and places to eat. Plenty of room for all of us as well. We were a group of 5 and it worked out great.

Great little house in York

  • 5 of 5

My sisters and I stayed here the week of Sept 18, 2017. This was a lovely little house, conveniently located and recently renovated. Very tastefully done and enough room for 4 of us.

I would definitely recommend as a vacation rental.

Great stay, great time

  • 5 of 5

We experienced the same pleasure in staying for the second time in the Cape House - spacious, comfortable, with brand-new bathrooms and new porch. Located in a very quiet street, close to paths along the river and to the beach, also ideally situated for trips to Ogunquit, the Kennebunks or Kittery and Portsmouth. A special thanks to Kevin's son who helped us out with the intricacies of the American TV system. All in all a very enjoyable stay well worth repeating.
