Less than ten minutes travel from the airport it is located in the very center of St. Georges, the original capital of Bermuda, can be found a quaint one bedroom garden cottage with views of the harbor, only seconds away from shops, bars and restaurants.
This fully modernized cottage sleeps two, fully air-conditioned and heated in both rooms, plenty of closet space with a washer and dryer, and a comfortable king size bed. The open planned kitchen and lounge gives you views of the garden and harbour and is fully equipped with cooker, refrigerator, microwave and toaster, a small dinning area, TV with free cable and WI FI in the lounge.
Enjoy sitting on the patio or on the dock in the shared garden taking in Bermuda's beauty or walk around St. Georges and visit it's historical sites and museums. Only a twenty minute walk or three minute drive to Tobacco Bay and Fort St. Catherine Beach.
To venture out of St. Georges we have the bus and ferry stops only minutes away from your door.
Arrived in Bermuda for the first time to visit friends and stayed at this Idyllic and peaceful cottage with a shared garden overlooking St. Georges harbour. It has all the facilities you could need, one spacious bedroom with good storage space and washer/dryer, well equipped kitchen/diner with a small sitting room. Air-conditioned throughout, with free WFI, and TV with lots of channels.
There are no hire cars available on the Island (only scooters) but you are only minutes walk away from a ferry and bus service that is reasonably priced that can take you anywhere you wish to visit. Supermarket, restaurants and bars are minutes away from this quite area and the locals are so friendly and welcoming. Beautiful Tobacco Bay and St. Catherine's Beach are twenty minute walk away.
Linda, the property manager and her husband Chris are so welcoming and helpful, they made it very easy to relax, and when the time came, took us back to the Airport.
Great find. On the water, in-town, great customer service, close to supermarkets and restaurants, quiet, comfortable large bed, well-equipped kitchen, nice yard, friendly birds. It appears all the reviews for this location are good, which might make it more difficult for us to get a return reservation. We will be back!
During a week's stay in December, for all the reasons cited by other reviewers, we booked our return visit for March.
What can be said in a review of this amazing place that hasn't been repeated countless times? What can be said about Linda that hasn't been repeated countless times? This beautiful cottage is as well maintained and clean as it is perfectly located. We couldn't have asked for better accommodations and we will definitely be coming back. Thank you so much Linda for an awesome experience and an unforgettable vacation!
We just returned from our annual trip to Bermuda and were fortunate enough to stay at Smith Cottage for 5 days in July. This cottage was everything and more than they describe in the listing. It was comfortable, quaint, quiet and clean. It's set right in downtown St. Georges surrounded by cute little shops and restaurants but when sitting in the beautiful garden harbor-side you'd never know so much was going on around you. It's just so peaceful with the most gorgeous view of the harbor. Linda and Chris were awesome hosts and they take very good care of the property. If you're lucky enough to stay there---you're lucky enough.
We've been to Bermuda many times, but the week we spent at Smith Cottage was possibly the best. All was as advertised and then some. Centrally located right on historic St. George's harbor, it feels very private, but is in easy walking distance of restaurants, shops, the market, bus stop, and ferry (and Linda is just next door if anything is needed). Many thanks for a wonderful stay! Five stars and more!
We had a fabulous 10 night stay at the cottage which has everything you could ask for being very well equipped for self catering. The location is, in our opinion, the best in St George right on the water front to spend many hours in the garden watching the boats and the tropical fish swimming by. Linda and Chris were the perfect hosts and looked after us very well. We would highly recommend the cottage to anyone visiting Bermuda.
St. Georges is a World Heritage Centre with wonderful historical fortifications within walking distance, fabulous pink beaches where you can relax, snorkel or swim.
Relax with the locals in the Town Hall and Square where you can watch the dunking of the local gossip in the harbor.
A ferry ride to Royal Naval Dockyard, a must see The Commissioners House and the Dolphins.
