Arrived in Bermuda for the first time to visit friends and stayed at this Idyllic and peaceful cottage with a shared garden overlooking St. Georges harbour. It has all the facilities you could need, one spacious bedroom with good storage space and washer/dryer, well equipped kitchen/diner with a small sitting room. Air-conditioned throughout, with free WFI, and TV with lots of channels.
There are no hire cars available on the Island (only scooters) but you are only minutes walk away from a ferry and bus service that is reasonably priced that can take you anywhere you wish to visit. Supermarket, restaurants and bars are minutes away from this quite area and the locals are so friendly and welcoming. Beautiful Tobacco Bay and St. Catherine's Beach are twenty minute walk away.
Linda, the property manager and her husband Chris are so welcoming and helpful, they made it very easy to relax, and when the time came, took us back to the Airport.
We just returned from our annual trip to Bermuda and were fortunate enough to stay at Smith Cottage for 5 days in July. This cottage was everything and more than they describe in the listing. It was comfortable, quaint, quiet and clean. It's set right in downtown St. Georges surrounded by cute little shops and restaurants but when sitting in the beautiful garden harbor-side you'd never know so much was going on around you. It's just so peaceful with the most gorgeous view of the harbor. Linda and Chris were awesome hosts and they take very good care of the property. If you're lucky enough to stay there---you're lucky enough.
We've been to Bermuda many times, but the week we spent at Smith Cottage was possibly the best. All was as advertised and then some. Centrally located right on historic St. George's harbor, it feels very private, but is in easy walking distance of restaurants, shops, the market, bus stop, and ferry (and Linda is just next door if anything is needed). Many thanks for a wonderful stay! Five stars and more!
We had a fabulous 10 night stay at the cottage which has everything you could ask for being very well equipped for self catering. The location is, in our opinion, the best in St George right on the water front to spend many hours in the garden watching the boats and the tropical fish swimming by. Linda and Chris were the perfect hosts and looked after us very well. We would highly recommend the cottage to anyone visiting Bermuda.
Indeed, our stay in this beautiful little cottage was perfect in every way. An ideal location right on St. George's harbour, and yet exceedingly quiet, this rental unit has everything to make for a fantastic holiday. Lots of space to spread out, a fully equipped kitchen, a beautiful garden stretching right down to the water's edge. plus an inviting patio right off the living room. It's so centrally located - easy to get around St. George's, moments from the ferry, easy access to the bus for Hamilton, and so handy to Somers where we were able to buy delicious hot foods at a reasonable price - for Bermuda. Most grateful that Linda was able to pick us up at the airport, and then made sure we got back there in time for lunch before our flight out. Would I recommend this place? In a heartbeat!
As I write this review, this is the last day of our 22 day stay at this wonderful property. Everything that others have said about St George is true: history, forts, beaches, shops and restaurants are all close by. In addition, the location of the cottage by the water's edge is unbeatable. Coffee in the morning by the water or a cold beer after a day of hiking - bliss. The cottage contains everything you'll need: very comfortable king-sized bed, a fully equipped kitchen, lots of room, and a big assortment of TV channels from the US and Canada. And to top it all off, Linda and Chris (the property managers) are great to deal with. They are extremely helpful and friendly. Put all this together and this place can't be beat! We'll be back.
My husband treated me to 10 days at the cottage to celebrate my 70th birthday. Nothing could have been better! Linda met us a the airport and then guided us around all that was available in the cottage. Nothing was missing. The bed was so comfortable and the bedding excellent. I appropriated the comfy chair in the living room which had the best view of St. George's Bay. It was beautiful, from windswept to calm. Kitchen well equipped so no problem with cooking. Everything was lovely and clean. Excellent restaurants around the cottage and a good, small supermarket in the town. We enjoyed every minute, even with an occasional lack of buses. We saw all we wanted to on the island and had some excellent walks in lovely weather. I couldn't have had a better birthday and would recommend the cottage to any couple. Thank you Linda and Chris
