4 Bedroom Home, 1.5 Baths, 0.7 miles from the Beach
About Joseph Szeniawski
I am a military helicopter pilot in the United States Air Force, living in Alabama. I have family in York, Maine who look after the house and I often visit York and stay in the house.
Joseph Szeniawski purchased this House in 2012
Why Joseph Szeniawski chose York Harbor
This property is close to the beach but not so close you have to deal with all the noise of traffic and people at night. It's close enough to the beach to walk if you want. It is near the village for historical sights. It is near restaurants for dining and enjoying great Maine lobster. I am an honest straight forward person and will do everything in my power to make your vacation awesome!
What makes this House unique
My family lives in town so any issues you have can be remedied on the spot, same day. No long-distance issues to resolve or management company headaches. Most houses that sleep this many people are outdated and rent for $4,000 to $5,000 a week in York. Enjoy a freshly renovated home during your vacation. My place is a great deal. The summer is going to be here shortly!
No smoking. $500 penalty fee for smoking.
No pets. $500 penalty fee for pets in the home.
Minimum age of primary renter:18
Max guests:14 (sleeps up to 14 adults)
Cancelled bookings will not receive a refund.
Home was perfect for our family of 8 w/room to spare. Our hub was the large kitchen table where we enjoyed many new laughs and new memories! Thanks again for a terrific weekend.
Thank you for the kind review. You are welcome back any time. Have a wonderful end of summer.
Modest pricing for location near York beaches
Fairly well-equipped house ideal for 3 couples on the main floor, with AC units in all 3 bedrooms. The basement can accommodate up to 6 more people in single beds, however the airflow is limited and therefore a bit stuffy/ musty. The covered / screened eating porch and outdoor fire pit are nice features, however the outdoor shower has no privacy/ walls so can only be used as a rinsing shower from the beach.
Thank you for the 5-star review. We are glad you are coming back next year! Have a great summer.
Great place for my family
My family lived staying at Joseph's place. Perfect for our large group.
Thank you. I am glad the house was perfect for your large group. Welcome back anytime.
Really enjoyed our family gathering. Loved the outside fire pit.
Only negative would have been nice for bathroom in the basement.
Otherwise totally enjoyed. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
Hi, I am so very appreciative for the 5-star review. We will look into installing a basement bathroom; hopefully the 2 bathrooms on the main level met your needs. Have a great summer!
Our stay In York near the beach
Our stay in York Beach turned out to be everything I expected. I used to vacation there as a very young boy and it’s still as I remember only more houses. The place was very clean and well appointed. We were able to make use of the fire place in the backyard by just collecting fallen wood from around the neighborhood. Also, being from Arizona, we had to bbq one night. Bicycles are provided, unfortunately the tires were flat. We put them in the back of the suv and got them aired up without too much trouble. We had 8 in our party for 6 days and we ran out of garbage bags, 2 supplied, and toilet paper, 4 rolls supplied. There’s a grocery store close though. All things considered, we had a very nice stay and I’d recommend this place to anyone plan to visit this picturesque little community. Our thanks to Joseph for his hospitality.
Hi, I’m glad you were able to re-live the childhood. All the extra toilet paper and supplies are under the sinks in the bathrooms and kitchen; sorry you were not able to find them. We strive for 5-star reviews, we’ll let future guests know to look under the bathroom sink for toilet paper—I assumed most knew to look there. Have a great summer!
Better than expected!
The house was more than we could’ve asked for! We’ve stayed in York every year of our lives and this year was the first time my sister and I got a place for just our families. And it was the first stress free vacation we’ve ever had, which isn’t the easiest thing with 7 young kids! Joseph’s house provided the space we needed for kids and parents to not feel cramped after a long day at the beach. It offered a great backyard for the kids to play in when the weather was off and on rain. The basement and pullout couch was absolutely perfect for a sleepover movie night for the older cousins. They were able to laugh, be silly and loud without us fearing they’d wake up the younger kids. Quiet road for the kids to ride their bikes. PLENTY of beds throughout the house made it easy to figure out the perfect sleeping arrangements for all 11 of us. And the outdoor shower (with hot and cold water!) was a saving grace after long, sandy days at the beach!
Thank you for the kind review. We hope to have you all back again next summer. Safe Travels.
York is an amazing summer getaway. The beaches offer great sights and sunbathing during the day. Short Sands has great shopping opportunities and fun bars at night. The Golden Rod is an old-time diner with a candy shop for the kids with in-house hand made taffy. Long Sands beach provides for the best enjoyment of the beach with plenty of space to spread out and relax. Harbor Beach is the smallest of the beaches but it is where you will find the locals and get the best tips on things to do in town. Mt. Agamenticus offers great hiking and beautiful scenery. York Village is home to historic buildings with guided tours day or night. 'Ghostly Tours' is an amazing evening adventure for the not-so faint of heart. The Bagel Basket is a great breakfast place open very early for the morning bird, with great coffee, bagel sandwiches, wraps, muffins, and drinks. Rt 103 Bridge is a fun place for those who like to do 'bridge jumping.' A popular spot for the local teens looking for a fun summer activity. Wiggly Bridge is a picturesque sight with hiking and biking. Nubble Light House is the most photographed lighthouse in the US. It has a restaurant nearby called Fox's and a souvenir shop. Browne's ice cream is next to the Nubble Lighthouse and has the best ice cream in town--A must visit in the evening after a day at the beach. Fun-O-Rama in short sands offers and arcade and bowling for the fun seekers. Inn on the Blues is a fun bar in short sands. For those looking to see the local bar, Ruby's Brick Oven Grill has a Bar out-back frequented by the locals. The Restaurant out-front of Ruby's is quite nice and separated from the bar. The Union Bluff is a hotel in the Short Sands area with a locally frequented bar on the 1st Floor level, a more low-key option to Inn-on-the-Blues. Excursions Kayaking is tremendous--owner Mike Sullivan runs a great business and provides a unique experience to his customers. The Lobster Pound on US Rt 1 provides true Maine seafood dining. It also has an outdoor bar out back with Bocce and Horseshoes. Always a great experience with colorful locals. Golf is available at 'The Ledges' and at the 'Cape Neddick Country Club.'
For those seeking additional night life opportunities and daytime shopping, Portsmouth NH, is a ten minute drive south on I-95 or US Rt 1. It has a tremendous amount of bars and shops, but it lacks the daytime tranquility and peacefulness York provides. Portsmouth has more of a city atmosphere. Fat Belly's Bar, Portsmouth Brewery, and The Page are good restaurant/bars. The Portsmouth Gaslight offers a night-club feel on the top floor of the 3 floor establishment, it also has an outdoor bar with bands.
