Overview

About the property

1 Bedroom, 1 Bath With Qn Sleeper Sofa In Living Room With National Park Views

There are no next door neighbors at Antler Ridge Cabin. All you'll see from the spacious front porch are the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. From the back deck, you'll see the Skyline Drive of the Shenandoah National Park. Situated at the edge of 52 acres of pasture and forest, Antler Ridge Cabin is the perfect romantic getaway for 2 in the Shenandoah Valley or a peaceful getaway for the family. Sightings of deer, wild turkeys, or even a bear are possible.

Inside the cabin, you will find all the necessities for a comfortable stay. The living room includes a TV with DVD player, Queen-size sleeper sofa, fireplace (but not for use in summer months), full kitchen with microwave, coffee maker, and everything you need to cook that special meal in the kitchen or on the grill out back.

The map only plots our property in Luray...it is 2 miles from Lake Arrowhead on Wintergreen Drive (or State Rd 746). At the end of that road, you go for approximately 0.4 mile on a private drive through our property to the cabin.

About Amy Painter

My husband and I both grew up in this area and reside within 10 minutes of the cabin. I am an elementary school principal and my husband is the county's Recreation Director. With 3 children, we never have a dull moment.

Amy Painter purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Amy Painter chose Shenandoah Valley

We purchased this property at auction in July 2012. It was a hunting cabin at the site of a hunt club and shooting range. We literally took the cabin down to its bare studs and built back a cabin that we can be proud of....a cabin that is cozy, comfortable, and has all the necessities of life.

What makes this cabin unique

This cabin has recently been renovated and we take pride in its restructure. We hope that renters will respect our hard work and appreciate nature at its finest.

Antler Ridge Cabin was awesome

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Antler Ridge. The cabin was exactly as described, we loved the seclusion and quietness. The cabin was spotless. Didn't see any wildlife during our visit, we were really hoping to see a bear. Hopefully next time as we will be back!

We came to Luray for the Dukes of Hazzard event ~ Cooter's Last Stand. We loved every minute of our visit. The town is lovely, we escpecially enjoyed breakfasts at Uncle Buck's. So glad this event brought us to Luray. We will be back!

Private, comfortable getaway.

  • 5 of 5

We liked the cabin very much, especially that it was so private. The only sounds we heard in the morning were birds. The cabin is well-appointed and nicely maintained. I expect to go back.

Beautiful and secluded

  • 5 of 5

I've stayed here twice now and I absolutely love it. It's completely secluded, allowing for peace and privacy. It's close to the caverns and Shenandoah national park, both of which I enjoyed on this stay. The cabin is clean and cozy and I hope to return again in the future!

A True "Wilderness" Escape...

  • 5 of 5

All in all, we immensely enjoyed our extended stay at Antler Ridge Cabin - the utmost privacy was the BEST, being secluded on 52 acres. I could actually enjoy the reality of NO neighbors, and NO noise produced by them. The cabin was absolutely spotless, and I loved the deer theme that was carried out in each room. The only thing I would suggest is to place a little vanity in the bathroom - there is a nice spot right next to the toilet where it could go. The bedroom was nicely darkened by the curtains (thanx!), and we were both very comfortable and satisfied with our stay. As my husband's note read, the next time we visit Shenandoah, we WILL return to your nice cabin. P.S. - The first morning, I saw a cute baby bear walk right across the porch - NO KIDDING! Thanx for everything... :p

Great Location & tidy & comfortable cabin

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed staying a second time at Antlers Ridge Cabin. Very secluded, clean and comfortable cabin within minutes of driving distance to the National Park. Amy, the owner gave us great sugestions when asked about Restaurant choices. Cabin has a phone that can be used to make phone calls, but it's only available for local calls. I would suggest to have a phone where you can make free long distant calls in the US since you are out of phone an internet range. Also the bathroom could use another towel rack or hooks to hang things.

We loved our relaxing stay at your pretty cabin!
