Overview

About the property

1 Bedroom, 1 Bath With Qn Sleeper Sofa In Living Room With National Park Views

There are no next door neighbors at Antler Ridge Cabin. All you'll see from the spacious front porch are the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. From the back deck, you'll see the Skyline Drive of the Shenandoah National Park. Situated at the edge of 52 acres of pasture and forest, Antler Ridge Cabin is the perfect romantic getaway for 2 in the Shenandoah Valley or a peaceful getaway for the family. Sightings of deer, wild turkeys, or even a bear are possible.

Inside the cabin, you will find all the necessities for a comfortable stay. The living room includes a TV with DVD player, Queen-size sleeper sofa, fireplace (but not for use in summer months), full kitchen with microwave, coffee maker, and everything you need to cook that special meal in the kitchen or on the grill out back.

The map only plots our property in Luray...it is 2 miles from Lake Arrowhead on Wintergreen Drive (or State Rd 746). At the end of that road, you go for approximately 0.4 mile on a private drive through our property to the cabin.

About Amy Painter

My husband and I both grew up in this area and reside within 10 minutes of the cabin. I am an elementary school principal and my husband is the county's Recreation Director. With 3 children, we never have a dull moment.

Amy Painter purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Amy Painter chose Luray

We purchased this property at auction in July 2012. It was a hunting cabin at the site of a hunt club and shooting range. We literally took the cabin down to its bare studs and built back a cabin that we can be proud of....a cabin that is cozy, comfortable, and has all the necessities of life.

What makes this cabin unique

This cabin has recently been renovated and we take pride in its restructure. We hope that renters will respect our hard work and appreciate nature at its finest.

Our overall experience was perfect. The cabin was clean, cozy, private and very inviting. Amy and her husband have done an amazing job creating a peaceful place to relax and rejuvenate. We will definitely consider another weekend getaway. Thank you!!

Nice private getaway

  • 4 of 5

Was impressed with snack that awaited us and also plenty of towels and wash cloth. Nice clean cabin . The lake close by is a beautiful place to hike and take pictures! The lady bugs were not so nice but other than that it was great place to relax !

Owner's Response: My apologies for any ladybug visitors. Unfortunately, when you live next to a forest the ladybugs like to venture out at the first sight of warmth.

Great cabin close to Skyline Drive!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a wonderful extended weekend in Luray! The cabin is exactly as pictured! Clean and tidy with all the needed amenities and very easy to access. It’s nice and secluded but only a short drive to the Shenandoah National Park entrance. We also made a day trip to Washington DC, only about 2 hours! Highly recommend this cabin if you’re looking for a place to stay in the area!

Amy was great at responding to my questions before renting as well as offering to respond to any needs we might have. We had a nice relaxing time in this clean and very comfortable cabin and no need to ask for anything. Thanks Amy

Great secluded cabin

  • 5 of 5

Close enough to town to get what you need, but secluded enough to feel completely private. The privacy was the number one feature for us. Super cute small cabin that was just the right size for the two of us and our three year old. We stayed here for the Shenandoah Half Marathon and it was just a few turns away from the finish line. Very convenient! If you're a runner, it's a great place to run. You can go from the cabin down to the lake, and even around the surrounding streets and feel perfectly safe running. The only thing we might suggest (if it's even possible to get a replacement for such a thing) is a new mattress for the fold up couch. If you're an adult your back won't be able to handle it, but for little ones? They can usually sleep on anything lol. But honestly, for all I know all fold up couches feel that way :D Awesome cabin in a beautiful spot! Highly recommend!
