Beautiful farm for an outdoor rustic wedding!

  • 5 of 5

House was extremely comfortable for such an old home. Beautifully updated and restored.

Grounds were perfect for a dyi rustic wedding. Cindy and Jill were generous in sharing their farm property and time. Even though Mother Nature didn't cooperate and we had horrible weather and lost power off and on during the wedding and after, we would choose to do it all again if we could.

Would have been perfect if dogs were allowed! 😉

Wonderfully peaceful, a first rate rental

  • 5 of 5

My family and in-laws spent New Year's weekend at the Stoney Ridge Farm and I can't say enough good things about it.

The property itself is huge and we took walk after walk in the surrounding woods, which had picturesque mountains in the background, clear paths, beautiful fields, and absolute privacy.

With that said, I found the farmhouse to be the real star. A lovely redone kitchen (not huge but great with new appliances), a fantastic dining room with plenty of space, and two good sized living room/den type rooms. The wood stove and fireplaces kept everyone warm and cozy and we found a stock of firewood when we arrived.

The bedrooms were delightful. Five in all, each had a slightly different style and were much larger than I expected (with only one being a bit more moderate in size). The bathrooms seemed recently redone and the fixtures were very high quality.

All in all, the farmhouse and property was a wonderfully relaxing and quiet experience. I can't recommend this rental more and for those who need a special place for a getaway or event. I've traveled a bit and can confidently say you won't go wrong at the Stoney Ridge Farm. If you're looking for the feeling of getting away 'from it all' but with all the comforts you’d hope for, I strongly suggest you consider this rental.

Perfect fall wedding

  • 5 of 5

I cannot describe the beauty of this 19th century estate home! I'll start from the beginning!

I live in California but most of my (extensive) family lives in New England so it made sense to have my wedding there. We wanted a farmhouse (check) with a lot of land (check), where we could have our dream wedding (CHECK). The owners, Jill and Cindy, were so easy to get in touch with and so welcoming.

The best part about having our wedding here is that it was not a "wedding venue" so they didn't control any part of it, aside from basic rules (like no wedding guests allowed in the house, which is totally understandable).

As for the house itself, it was one of the most beautifully old houses I've had the pleasure of staying in. Each room has a different decorative theme of sorts, and all bedrooms except one have a three-piece bathroom. This was very handy when my family and wedding party were all staying under the same roof!

Sometime in the future, I am absolutely going to come back here with my family for a relaxing weekend away!

Great Get-a-Way Weekend in Historic Home

  • 5 of 5

We came to the farm to escape the city and ring in the New Year with friends. This was a perfect retreat for a relaxing weekend of board games by the fire, cooking and sharing stories, and winter strolls on the trails through the estate.

The historic home has lots of charm, is very clean, and spacious. There are five bedrooms with double or queen beds, four of them have private bathrooms/showers. There's also a pull out couch in the living room if needed. A large dining room and well equipped kitchen made it easy to share meals. The house was well heated, the owners even started the wood stove for us before we arrived - such a nice touch!

Highly recommend this farm house for a winter retreat with family or friends.

Absolutely beautiful farmhouse.

  • 5 of 5

We can't say enough about this rental. Absolutely beautiful grounds, huge yard for the kids (young and old!) to play in, plenty of parking--I could go on and on. The house itself is gorgeous, newly renovated, but keeping the quaint farmhouse feeling. Plenty of bedrooms and baths. Extremely clean--we did not mind having the kids crawling/playing on the floor. The kind of place you can go to and enjoy the peace and quiet. We went for a weekend because our son was competing in the Ironman triathelon so the whole time was very hectic. We are planning on all going back for a vacation that we can just relax and enjoy the house/yard. Hospitality was great. The house is stocked with everything you need and they leave you alone to enjoy it. I would recommend this rental to anyone.

Owner's Response: Allison and family...thank you! We open our home in hopes that other families will love the farmhouse and surroundings like we do. So to hear that you and your family enjoyed and appreciated your stay makes our day! We strive to maintain comfortable beds with higher quality mattresses, crisp linens and a very clean place to lay back and relax! We used our own experiences renting vacation homes in the past to set the bar in our farmhouse and it means a lot to us that you and your family noticed! We look forward to your next stay...Thank You!

Beautiful, amazing home!

  • 5 of 5

Wow! Words cannot even begin to express the incredible time we had at this rental home. It is a beautiful farmhouse, remodeled with every convenience you can think of. The hospitality of the owners was incredible! With the five bedrooms and plenty of baths, it was perfect for our extended family to get together. The location was just beautiful, quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed the family room with the woodstove on the cold, winter days and enjoyed snowshoeing around the property. We definitely hope to get back there!
