Peaceful location. Beautiful views. Unique home. Friendly neighbors.
Loved our stay. Thank goodness for air conditioning. The weekend was warming than we were anticipating. Fully stocked home. Clean. Lots of spiders but it's the bay so to be expected.
Front door lock is very difficult to unlock and lock.
I will recommend this home.
Beautiful water views.
Matt was very quick to respond to any requests. Crabbing, kayaking and fishing right from property. Older home with quiet location and very relaxing.
Lovely home and quiet area
The home is spacious and very lovely, and very well stocked with essential supplies. I can't think of anything that was lacking. Especially interesting is the cupola which gives a nice view of the marshes and offers yet another seating space. We enjoyed having use of the kayaks and bikes, and having a ping pong table was a great feature. There is not a lot nearby, so if you're looking to just enjoy the peace and quiet, this is the place. Luckily there was usually a nice breeze on the deck and the bugs didn't seem to be a problem there. The sunroom does get very warm on a hot day, so some fans there would make the space more useable in the afternoon. Matt was very friendly and accommodating, and we enjoyed our stay very much.
Great Scenic Place
The house itself is very comfortable with everything you can want in a vacation home. The huge windows give you a great view of the bay. You can also go up to the third floor watch area and get a fantastic view of the surrounding area. There is an outdoor patio off of this watch area, but since it was pretty cold during our visit (late December), we did not use it.
The area itself has tons of good walking and hiking opportunities. Wandering around nearby Deal Island is fascinating and there are many nearby wetlands to wander through. The Eastern shore is around an hour away, so also easily accessible. The only downside is that the large windows mean the house is not well-insulated, so it can get a bit cool on very cold days, but a sweater is a good remedy.
Perfect spot! Worked great for our group of 9!
This is a beautiful property. The house worked well for our group of 9 adults. There was room enough for us all to gather together, as well as areas to be by yourself. The setting is serene and peaceful. We enjoyed the use of bicycles, kayaks and table tennis while there. Thank you to Matt Bogdan for sharing this wonderful place.
Thank you so much for the wonderful review.
Great get away.
There was quiet to relax in a comfortable place. Wasn't to far to drive if you wanted to get out and about. If you want to get away from the noise and relax have great seafood not far away come here.
House is located in Chance, MD, which shares the same zip code of 21821 with Deal Island. Fishing, crabbing, swimming, sailing, boating, and kayaking are all available. Four kayaks provided and within 100 feet of property to access Haines Pond, which then leads to the Tangier Sound. Bikes also available for your use. Half hour away is Salisbury, which has a mall, zoo, and other amenities of a city. Here in Chance you have seclusion but are still close to the necessities. You have a public beach right over the Deal Island bridge. A marina is also adjacent to the property. You can fish and crab right off a small bridge that is adjacent to the property. You can play tennis or basketball outside at a local elementary school. You can birdwatch right from downstairs or upstairs or from the cupola on the third floor. I just saw two eagles, several ospreys, and Waldo, the local great blue heron that loves Haines Pond.
