About the property

This Chateau built in 1032 is located on a property with 17.5 acres surrounding.

Discover and experience the chateau that was once the route the Romans took to sell their wares in Lyon, France. Later, it became a monastery built by Benedictine Monks--who made their own wine--then again later a renovated chateau.

Enjoy the modern luxuries of 10 full Suites, a screening room with over 1000 movie choices, Underground Caves that even impress the French, Pool and Ping pong table, and a great kitchen for cooking or hiring a catering staff.

If you are an outdoor person, relish in the idea of riding your bike on some of the same routes as the Tour De France, and or taking hiking trails through the mountains. Lake and beach goers can enjoy 2 large lakes, and skiers--we have 110 ski stations/locations within an hour of the chateau!!!!!

Mt. Blanc, the highest peak in the Alps is 1.5 hour drive and is a sight that NO guest should miss. The gondola ride up to the highest point is extraordinary, as is the glacier cave.

Relax, Reunite, Talk, Cook, Read, Hike, Walk, Play, and just BREATHE.... get away from the real world at this wonderful family Chateau. Casually elegant....or just shorts and a t-shirt....this is for those who just really want to kick back and see the real France!

About Casey O'Neal

We are an American Family that live in California. Chateau St. Philippe, is our family home and retreat!

Casey O'Neal purchased this chateau / country house in 2000

Why Casey O'Neal chose Chambery - Aix les Bains area

Upon deciding to purchase a property in France, we came upon this Chateau. It had a calling....and it needed us as much as we needed it. The project has been no 'Year in Provence', but challenging nonetheless. Do come and enjoy the tranquility as we do, and get away from it all.

What makes this chateau / country house unique

On 17 acres of privately-gated land, Chateau St. Philippe abounds in natural beauty. Stroll through the property and discover apple, cherry, and lilac trees, blackberry bushes and many aromatic plants and flowers. Enjoy the sight and sound of water cascading from the mountains above and take time to view the spectacular French Alps.

  • 5 of 5

  • 5 of 5

Wow! The most beautiful place in France.

  • 5 of 5

I never been in a Château before. I didn't have expectations. I must say that I have no regrets about it. With 1h drive to the Alpes, this place is one of the best spot in France. Everyone who work there was nice and easy. I would like to stay there again. The sooner the better!

This place is simply amazing. So picturesque, with Mont Blanc out my window. A couple hours drive to Italy. Simply amazing.
