The Lake, from Tourism New Zealand.........
The beautiful Lake Taupo was created nearly two thousand years ago by a volcanic eruption which darkened the skies of Europe and China.
Visit the Craters of the Moon and you will see evidence of the Lake's fiery birth in geysers, steaming craters and boiling mud pools.
At some of Lake Taupo's beaches, swimmers and paddlers can enjoy warm geothermal water currents.
Guests have access to the whole property. We have a lock box with the front door key inside. Your code will be supplied to you when you book.
Guests enjoy free use of Wireless Internet.
Interaction with Guests
I have a very friendly approach to all enquiries and promptly answer all email enquiries and all follow up questions. Unfortunately, on most occasions, I will not be there to greet you as I live in Wellington.
I will provide you with the code for the lock box once the booking has been confirmed.
There will be very clear house instructions on the dining room table.
My sister lives in Taupo close by and her numbers are provided in the instruction sheet. I will be available by mobile (Phone Number Hidden) if you need me.
Please note that this is a quiet, safe neighbourhood and consideration for our neighbours is important.
We are a few minutes from the lake which has beautiful walks in both directions right beside the lake; around The Bays and into the Township.
Local shopping centre a couple of minutes away at Richmond Heights with good 4 Square Grocery Shop, liquor store, & great fish and chips
The airport is 2 K from our house.
My parents first holidayed at Lake Taupo in the 1970s. We continued the tradition with our own children and grandchildren. Our children became addicted to water skiing, boating, fishing, tramping and snow skiing.
The unique thing about this house, apart from the thermal hot mineral pool, is the magnificent view of the lake and mountains, and the two outdoor seating areas providing comfort in all weather.
There is a large, beautiful garden on the lower level which is great for kids games, or just to sit in tranquility and listen to the birds.
The house is very well equipped, with everything you would need for your stay.
Superb views across Lake Taupo, and very convenient for the town.
If we are lucky enough to return to Taupo in the future, we would certainly consider staying here again.
My husband and I stayed at this house for a month. It had just been redone inside and was very tastefully done. It had everything you could possibly need and if there were any questions, the owner was always available. They left a very detailed information package with suggestions for restaurants, activities etc. The house is in a great location just outside of downtown and in a quiet neighborhood. There is ample space for parking your car. I can't say enough good things about this place. I would highly recommend this house for anyone travelling to this area. We were very sad to leave.
Four of us (two couples) met the owner and she is delightful. She gave us tips and ideas for the area and was spot on. Easily found this lovely gem with her great directions. The house was very clean and orderly but comfortable. The Thermal Hot Pool was wonderful especially after a full day of activities. Every amenity possible was available and we used them. Great refrigerator, stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, all the utensils, cookware, dishes one could possibly need. We cooked many breakfasts in and many dinners. Great having a gas grill to cook freshly caught trout. The bedrooms were small but the beds were very very comfortable with lovely linens. The shower was big and had great water pressure. So nice to have washer and dryer. Even a clothes line if you wanted to hang your clothes to dry. Plenty of starter supplies for your needs. Local stores well stocked, nice butcher shop in town, Farmer's Market on Saturday, golf nearby and it was a lovely course. Convenient location for side trips to Napier, close to Huka Falls. The view from the living room and outside picnic table was to die for with fabulous sunsets; different every night. One can see why their family enjoys spending holiday at this home. Lots of books and brochures to browse. Lots of opportunity to fish, hike, explore, and close enough to drive to glow worm caves and thermal spas. This location could not have been better. Wifi was available as was a nice flat screen TV. Very open feeling of place with lots of light and beautiful grounds both in the front and back. Not to mention the very convenient parking right out side the door. The area was particularly quiet. Heather was wonderful in responding to any questions we had during our planning stage and was very accommodating. She was prompt in her responses and offered suggestions. If I could dream again of coming to Taupo I would stay here as it felt like "home" and was easy. Our stay was eight nights and it was much too short. Book your stay here and you won't be disappointed.Aloha Heather and Mahalo for a wonderful stay.
