The Lake, from Tourism New Zealand.........
The beautiful Lake Taupo was created nearly two thousand years ago by a volcanic eruption which darkened the skies of Europe and China.
Visit the Craters of the Moon and you will see evidence of the Lake's fiery birth in geysers, steaming craters and boiling mud pools.
At some of Lake Taupo's beaches, swimmers and paddlers can enjoy warm geothermal water currents.
Guest Access
Guests have access to the whole property. We have a lock box with the front door key inside. Your code will be supplied to you when you book.

My sister lives in Taupo close by and her numbers are provided in the instruction sheet. I will be available by mobile (Phone Number Hidden) if you need me.
Please note that this is a quiet, safe neighbourhood and consideration for our neighbours is important.
Neighbourhood
We are a few minutes from the lake which has beautiful walks in both directions right beside the lake; around The Bays and into the Township.
Local shopping centre a couple of minutes away at Richmond Heights with good 4 Square Grocery Shop, liquor store, & great fish and chips
The airport is 2 K from our house.
My parents first holidayed at Lake Taupo in the 1970s. We continued the tradition with our own children and grandchildren. Our children became addicted to water skiing, boating, fishing, tramping and snow skiing.
The unique thing about this house, apart from the thermal hot mineral pool, is the magnificent view of the lake and mountains, and the two outdoor seating areas providing comfort in all weather.
There is a large, beautiful garden on the lower level which is great for kids games, or just to sit in tranquility and listen to the birds.
We stayed at the Hot Pool Hideaway for two weeks, using it as our base for the 2018 Ironman. The location is very close to the lake and the Ironman run course, and is only a few minutes by car from the town centre. Everything was very much as advertised and we enjoyed our stay very much. The hot pool was a great bonus compared to other options and we liked that there are three different dining areas: outside facing the lake, inside and outside under cover. So whatever the weather and temperature, all the bases were covered .Lastly ,we appreciated that the house was well-equipped with all the basics (kitchen rolls, coffee, tea etc) when we arrived, so we didn't have to immediately go out and buy them.
Hot pool hideaway blew us all away with it's beauty, serenity, and stunning views of Lake Taupo. We immediately felt at home and ready to relax. We were traveling with dear friends, and there is plenty of space for everyone to have some privacy and downtime, or socialize with the group in common areas. The home is beautifully decorated, and one of our favorite features were little reading nooks in the windows where we could stretch out and enjoy a good book for a while. We loved sitting under the trellis on the deck -- and loved looking at the wonderful gardens on the property.
One of us used the Hot Pool in the house and was transported away into spa bliss....
We ended up spending an additional night at the property because we were so relaxed and did not want to leave.
Thank you, Heather, for having us at your beautiful home!
A beautifully designed house with attention paid to every detail. Very comfortable with wonderful indoor outdoor flow on to a lovely patio and garden in the front and a sunny courtyard for breakfast in the back.
The views of the lake and mountains are amazing and the large lower garden beautifully landscaped and maintained.
The little hot pool is gorgeous at night before you go to bed, a real treat.
A superb property all round.
This was absolutely the best rental experience we've ever had. Home is tasteful and functional and the views are extraordinary. The glass sliders really allow you to take advantage of those views. This was the perfect home base for exploring the Northern Island of New Zealand. The town of Taupo is very convenient and the Huka Falls must be on your list of things worth seeing. We were there for 2 weeks and totally enjoyed ourselves.
The house is very well equipped, with everything you would need for your stay.
Superb views across Lake Taupo, and very convenient for the town.
If we are lucky enough to return to Taupo in the future, we would certainly consider staying here again.
My husband and I stayed at this house for a month. It had just been redone inside and was very tastefully done. It had everything you could possibly need and if there were any questions, the owner was always available. They left a very detailed information package with suggestions for restaurants, activities etc. The house is in a great location just outside of downtown and in a quiet neighborhood. There is ample space for parking your car. I can't say enough good things about this place. I would highly recommend this house for anyone travelling to this area. We were very sad to leave.
Lake Taupo is a wonderful situation in the middle of the North Island with great day trips to Rotorua, Mt Ruapehu, Tongariro and Ngaruahoe with the world famous Tongariro Crossing walk, Napier or Hamilton. Endless local activities and a very pro active Information Centre in the middle of town for all bookings. Wonderful local walks to the famous Huka Falls, Mt Tauhara and from the Township to Five Mile Bay which can also be cycled. Canoeing on the Waikato River, Trout Fishing, Bungy Jumping, Paragliding, and Sky Diving to mention just a few!
