Photos and Description of this 6 bedroom holiday home in York Beach - Tidewatch

6 bedroom, 4 bath waterfront home

The banks of the Cape Neddick river invite you to sit back, relax and watch the sunset over the water. Located on beautiful Shore Road, our property, once a B&B, offers a large recently updated home with plenty of room for everyone, making it the perfect place for a summer vacation, family reunion, or wedding party. Enjoy morning coffee, a cocktail, lobster bake or an evening bonfire in the spacious back yard with private dock overlooking the harbor.

Our house offers six bedrooms, four of which have water views. It boasts two master bedrooms, one on the first floor with a private deck and one on the second floor with a two person Jacuzzi. The four other bedrooms are on the second floor and share two additional baths. The modern fully appliance kitchen features granite countertops, breakfast bar, views of the river and is open to the living and dinning rooms. The living room has views of the water, flat screen TV, stereo with surround sound, built in bookshelves, and a wall of windows. The dinning room features seating for all and a wood burning stove/fireplace. A second living area or den with games, puzzles, another flat screen TV. and WII game system is available at the other end of the house for all to enjoy.

Tidewatch is located close to everything yet outside of the hustle and bustle of the beach. Just walk down the street and you can stop at the Cape Neddick Lobster Pound, a great place overlooking the harbor, for a meal, cocktail or evening entertainment. A little further will bring you to the Cape Neddick Beach, a quiet and safe haven perfect for families with young children, with tide pools, shallow calm water, and an uncrowded of beach. A fifteen minute walk in the other direction will bring you to Short Sands Beach with its larger crowds, amusement park, shops, restaurants and pubs, wild kingdom, funorama, bowling alley and gazebo with summertime concerts. For those more adventurous Long Sands Beach with its designated surfing areas is about one mile down the road while York Harbor and the village are about five miles away

Ideal location

Enjoyed our stay, location to town and beaches were with-in walking distance. Hiking ,golf and dining also nearby. A few hick ups on the Y-fi going in and out but after all it is vacation.

Owner's Response: I'm very glad you all enjoyed your vacation. Come to find out TWC has been working on their lines to hopefully improve internet connection. It's not usually a problem. Thanks Craig

Wonderful family vacation spot.

  • 5 of 5

Having just returned from a week-long family vacation, I have no other words to describe this but "Awesome". Craig was very accommodating, answering any questions we had and both the adults and kids, ages 11-72, were busy all the time. From kayaking and swimming from the dock in the yard and the 5 minute walk to the beach to jumping off the bridge at high tide. The home and the gardens with an unbelievable back yard along the river were where we spent many hours. This home is definitely #1 on our list of return. Perfect for Kids of All Ages

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic week! The house is very great for a large group, plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. Extremely clean which is not easy with beach sand. The kitchen is the best stocked of any house we've rented with lots of pots, pans, utensils and serving dishes. The grill was brand new with four burners and a side burner for sauce. Our kids loved playing in the backyard on the swing, watching the tide from the dock and eating lunch on the picnic table. We originally planned to go to Short Sands beach but never made it because the locals' Cape Neddick beach is only a five minute walk and has lots to explore with tidal pools, sand bars, rocks and shells, and our 15 year old cousin even took a leap off the bridge. Craig is readily available and willing to help with anything. Our family had such a wonderful week that we are already planning next year at Tidewatch.

Wonderful vacation home for large group

  • 4 of 5

We had a great stay at this clean, well equipped and spacious home. The host was available when needed. There were 10 of us and we had plenty of room to gather together or have space apart when needed. The location is perfect for being able to walk to a very quiet, clean beach or go to the busier Short Sands beach whichever is your liking. Morning coffee, midday reading or evening sunset watching all enjoyable from the dock. Fire pit was great for evening of s'mores!

Perfect home for a family vacation in Maine

  • 5 of 5

This house was just what we were looking for: plenty of room for our group of 12, access to water for kayaking and exploring, close enough to Short Sands Beach for our kids to walk to and enough yard space for us to relax and play outside. The kitchen was probably one of the best stocked rental kitchens I have seen. (And I have been in 20+ rentals in my lifetime.) Craig was super accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. The grounds around the house were beautiful. We loved walking up to the convenient store for lobster rolls. We had 7 kids, ages 12-16, and they loved being able to explore the area on their own, both on foot and in the kayaks we rented. We walked the Marginal Way in Ogunquit one day, which was just a 10 min drive north and also explored York Village another, but for the most part, we were happy just hanging out around the area.

As a side note, we did need to visit the York Emergency Room when one of the kids needed stitches, and it was probably the best ER visit we have ever had. The place is like a Spa. And no waiting!

We would definitely come back!

The Yorks, and Cape Neddick have miles of beautiful beaches , inviting you to relax, surf, fish, play and enjoy. We offer deep sea fishing out of York Harbor, three golf courses, plenty of restaurants and even some night life. The famous Ogunquit Playhouse is just a short drive up route one. There is outlet shopping in Kittery. Historic Portsmouth with is summer theater, concerts and festivals is just over the boarder. Boston, Portland and the White Mountains are all a reasonable drive from here.

There is however plenty to do right here in town and you may never want to leave.
