This house gives you the feel of being at the beach, but the privacy of a yard. Located in an area of the island that is easily accessable to all activities.
We enjoyed our stay at Sunset Dunes. It was nice to come home to a house that everyone could spread out in, after a long day of activities. There is a good selection of cooking ware and utensils. The only downside is you need to wear shoes when walking on the Dunes. They have a lot of sand burrs in them. Over all it was a good house at a good price. We will be returning.
We had a great time on Dauphin Island. This was our third stay on the island in 10 months and we picked the perfect house for the hot weather. The trees provided much needed shade, the location was perfect... Even the fox was a fun surprise. Not to mention the comfortable beds. We will be coming back soon!
Sunset Dunes was perfect for us and our pups. It was one level, quiet, and a quick drive to the beach at the country club. Although the fence didnt have gates, we brought baby gates and filled in the two openings. We never left our pups out alone, but felt secure letting them explore the backyard while we were outside too. The house and setting made this the most relaxing vacation we've had in years.
So let me start from the beginning. When we got to the house it was super clean which is awesome. It had nice comfortable Decour and everything we need it. Don't forget to bring toilet paper and paper towels though. The three bedrooms were spacious and the bathrooms were as well. We had never been to dauphin Island and it was quaint an very laid-back which we loved. When you're walking out the back door to get to the beach it is a good walk (10 minutes) through the dunes however we used it as our exercise and the nature was worth the walk. My husband saw a beach fox! The beach is super private as well. we hardly saw anyone. The backyard was very large and it had a patio and fire pit which was really nice. There was also a large screened in porch that was very convenient. I meant to personally email the owner to tell her what a great house she has but it's slipped my mind. I hope this will suffice as how thankful we are! And let me not forget to mention how private the house feels. the trees and the birds made it a very relaxing overall experience in The yard. You feel like you are in a local neighborhood rather then with all the vacationers. Big plus. But you are 2 minutes to the store, gas station, bakery, wall trail, ect. If you stay anywhere else on the island you're nuts! When we come back we are staying here! Thank you so much!
We had an amazing time on our vacation. The house was great as always! This is our third time here and it was clean and comfortable as always. We went shelling at the beach and went for long walks on the beach. We had a really great time at Gulf Quest. It was really interesting and had great views of the bay.We cooked a lot of our meals at the house. There was 5 of us and we had more than enough room. The boys went deep sea fishing and caught 30 pounds of Red Snapper! We also went on the Duke for the lighthouse cruise, it was really fun too. Barnacle Bill's was fantastic too. We got some steamed shrimp from Skinner's Seafood and also got some shrimp and fried them at the house. They were absolutely amazing. Sunset Dunes was AWESOME as always. Thank you Miss Pat!
Sunset Dunes was awesome. It is just as described. We decided it was too far to walk to the beach so we drove to the east end public beach as it was our favorite. The house had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. We didn't cook but noticed there was plenty of pots, pans and etc. The back yard was nice. We enjoyed watching a pair of little blue birds that were building a nest in one of the bird houses. My only regret was it was that going in April the weather wasn't quite as warm as we would have liked it too be. I would definately recommend this rental.
The Isle Dauphine Club is publicly accessable and has these options with extra charges, meeting rooms, reception rooms, beach wedding areas, circular pool.
