2 Bedroom, 2 Bath House With Private Yard Near Everything!

We are a 100% non-smoking property inside and out (including yards). If anyone in your group smokes, we are not the right property for you.

We require a 5 night minimum for stays with possible exceptions at owner's discretion. Shorter days will be subject to additional charges if exceptions are made. We appreciate your understanding.

Located in the exclusive and historic neighborhood of Hancock Park just south of Hollywood. Approximately 900 square feet of family friendly contemporary luxury inside and private 300 square foot outdoor area exclusive to the guest house. We are happy to share our large grassy yard for a quick game of soccer and our son's play structure for you to supervise your little ones on.

Our guest house is nestled behind our Estate with a separate entrance. You'll park your car on the side of our circular driveway and step through the side gate down a well lit path past our large grassy yard and vegetable garden and our large play structure that boasts 3 slides, 3 swings a rope climb, fireman's pole & picnic table before heading to your private and quite 2 bedroom, 2 bath home.

Our guest house has all the following amenities:


Master bedroom with king size Tempurpedic bed & flat screen TV. Layers of curtain panels allow guests to choose how much light they want to wake up to in the morning. Pull the white panels only and you will be gently awakened by filtered sunlight. Pull the dark gray and purple panels and you will sleep in a dark, undisturbed room as long as you like.

An iPod, iPhone dock and charger on the clock radio will charge your phone. Sounds of nature are also available on this clock to lull you to sleep.

Master bathroom is well lit with a large shower, plenty of plush towels two guest robes and a full length mirror. Hand soap and 6 rolls of toilet paper are provided.

The full kitchen is well stocked with service for 6, pots & pans, etc.. and includes full size fridge with ice maker and water filtration. All stainless steel appliances, range & stove and microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal, toaster, coffeemaker and juicer (for that fruit basket you got when you arrived).

Hand soap, dish soap and dishwasher detergent are provided.

Starter pack of coffee, tea & sweeteners are provided as well.

The sleek stainless steel indoor dining table seats 4-6 inside and the outdoor dining table seats 4.

A propane grill is in the 'private' yard as is the outdoor dining area. This area is exclusive to the guests and not used by anyone in the main house.

The 16 foot vaulted ceiling with exposed wood beams in the living room house a sleek contemporary fan to help circulate the air from your 'wall of windows' that cover the dining and living area.

Central heat & air provide comfort throughout.

Full size stacked washer and dryer. Laundry detergent and dryer sheets are provided.

A 50' flat screen 'smart TV' is mounted on the wall of the living room. Netfilx, Amazon instant videos, Vudu, Crackle & more as well as basic cable TV are accessible via the Smart TVs and Roku systems throughout. Hundreds of feature films and children's programs are available as well free of charge to guests.

An iPod, iPhone, iPad docking station allows your music to be heard throughout the unit.

A desk provides a work area with both wired & wireless internet and a laser printer for any of your office or airline ticket printing needs.

The upstairs 'loft' area is a perfect play area for the little ones with faux sheepskin rugs and plush pillows on the newly carpeted floor. Another flat screen TV upstairs will entertain the little ones as well as many games, books and toys so you can 'pack light' for your trip with the kids.

The upstairs bathroom has a full deep soaking tub and shower and skylight to let the light in.

The hallway upstairs is lined with large, deep closets if you are staying for a longer period of time and need more storage.

The upstairs bedroom is super fun for the little ones with sloped ceilings and two twin beds and a vented skylight. The peak of the ceiling in this bedroom is only 6'3' so if your really tall you'll want to sleep downstairs. Sconces over the beds provide individual reading lights for each bed. Another ipod docking clock radio with nature sounds is in this bedroom as well.

The polished concrete floors and simple and open contemporary design give the house a sleek, luxurious feel while maintaining it's family friendly nature.

Queen or twin size aero-beds available upon request for up to 2 additional guests.

Pack N Play, high chairs and strollers available upon request for your little one.

Please enjoy the suggestions for things to do, places to eat & shop and sights to see as well as the history of our neighborhood in our 'Guest Book'. Instructions for smart TVs, printer, Internet passcode and more are all included in this book.

The side gate for your entrance is equipped with an intercom system for any food deliveries you may order.

There is plenty of street parking available on our block if you arrive with more than one car.

About Sharlotte Blake

I am originally from the East Coast via Philadelphia & New York and settled in Los Angeles in 1999. I met my husband, originally from LA, in Los Angeles and we have a young son. I have worked in Entertainment for much of my adult life in both Music and Film. I also love design and real estate and owning Vacation Rentals has been a wonderful experience for me.

Why Sharlotte Blake chose Los Angeles

We love the neighborhood of Hancock Park and always wanted to live there. We bought the home in 2004 and have been lovingly restoring it to it's 1927 grandeur ever since. Once we had a child of our own, we realized how much nicer it is to have a 'house' when we travel so we decided to renovate our guest house so we could share it with people like yourselves for your vacation or business stays in our beautiful city.

What makes this house unique

You will love the contemporary feel of our guest house. You will feel like you are staying in the modern luxury of a high end hotel like the W or the Mondrian but without the cost, or the noise. The back yard you walk through to get to your house gives you a feeling of being away in a beautiful setting and you will forget you are actually in the heart of the city. It's the best of all worlds, quiet and restful but near all the attractions LA has to offer.

Great LA Location

This was a great location and was spotless. Every amenity was available. We loved the location in a neighborhood but literally in the middle of LA. Very close to every Hollywood attraction or Studio. Sharlotte, the owner, was awesome. Anything we needed, she was a phone call away.

You should know that the second floor loft is sloped. My teenage son is 6 ft and it didn't seem to bother him. We were on the go every day and didn't spend much time there except at night.

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Great place, great location, great host!

We absolutely loved our stay in LA ...the guesthouse was perfect for our family of 4.

The location was perfect in a leafy and quiet area and close to a gorgeous shopping strip in Larchmont.

The kids loved having their own space upstairs with a full bathroom and separate TV/retreat area.

The master bedroom had a great king size bed and was very comfortable.

We really appreciated having the extra space to relax as a family - and would absolutely recommend this guesthouse and Sharlotte to anyone.

The guesthouse includes access to a huge backyard with play equipment, grass, volleyball net and BBQ.

Sharlotte greeted us on arrival and showed us through- as well as this the instructions and suggestions for outings in the guestbook were much appreciated.

Sharlotte was only a phone call away and happy to come out when needed.

Looking forward to another visit to LA in the near future.

A beautiful little house in Hancock Park

Rentals in the Hancock Park neighborhood of Los Angeles are few. This lovely guest house behind a large residence is perfect if you need to be in the area, a quiet residential neighborhood of large homes surrounding the Wilshire Country Club. It's a perfect place for a couple. The loft bedroom would be good for kids but know that the eaves make the ceiling low. Both bathrooms (ground floor and loft) are full baths, well lit and spotless. Everything in fact is spotless in this pretty place. The kitchen has everything needed to eat in if you wish. There's a nice patio and the play equipment in the side yard belonging to the house is available. The ground floor bedroom has good drawer and closet space. In fact the property is just as described in the listing.

Our host, Sharlotte, was very communicative and responsive, and in fact was on the spot on our arrival, offered various check in options, and was quick with follow up when we departed.

Because of the country club in the center of the neighborhood, walking, while possible (and we did it) is by necessity along either Beverly Boulevard or Melrose if you want to reach, for example, Larchmont Village on foot--and it's a 20 minute walk. Once you are resigned to the car, LACMA is a very short drive, as is Larchmont, Paramount Studios, a very good grocery store at Melrose and Vine, Hollywood and many other great destinations. And the neighborhood is utterly quiet, which we really liked. I'm happy to recommend this listing.

Location! You can enjoy all that LA and Hollywood have to offer minutes away and come 'home' to the quiet and exclusive Hancock Park neighborhood to refresh and get a good nights sleep before another event filled day!

Hancock Park is one of the oldest and most exclusive neighborhoods of Los Angeles. We are centrally located between the San Fernando Valley and the Beach. Only 6 miles from the Film Studios in Burbank (Warner Brothers & Universal) and 10 miles to the beach and the airport in the other direction. We are right around the corner from Paramount Studios as well as CBS Studios. As you drive around our area you will be reminded of your location as the Holllywood sign in the hills sits above you to the North.

Located just South of the heart of Hollywood, Hancock Park boasts large homes and estates established in the 1920's & 1930's. Formerly home to such luminaries as Walt Disney, the Warner Brothers, Nat King Cole, Francis Ford Coppola and William Randolph Hearst. Many celebrities and luminaries in the film & TV industry currently reside in Hancock Park in it's stately mansions on quiet tree lined streets. Hancock Park is also home to many Foreign consulates. Occasionally our quiet neighborhood does get a bit of excitement when President Obama comes to visit the homes of TV Producer John Wells, Film Producer & Will Smith's partner, James Lassiter, or the home of Melanie Griffith & Antonio Banderas. Prince William & his wife Kate were also hosted recently at the UK Consulate General's home in the neighborhood. The beautiful homes and quiet streets of our neighborhood provide a fantastic setting for a romantic evening walk or your daily morning jog.

Bordering Hancock Park on the East and a short walk from our home is the quaint Larchmont Village. A 'local' spot for a fabulous Sunday Farmer's market, many restaurants and great coffee shops & ice cream shops as well as some wonderful local specialty shops.

You are only 2 miles from the Heart of Hollywood. See the sights on Hollywood's Walk of Fame, stop by Grauman's Chinese Theatre to see the handprints of the star's, The Wax Museum and Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum are always great fun as well.

For shopping and the occasional celebrity spotting check out The Grove at Farmers Market, only 1.5 miles away. Next to the Grove is Pan Pacific Park where you can run, relax, and picnic. There are several playgrounds for the kids, and many fields for soccer, baseball & more. The Original Farmer's Market, established in 1934 is nearby at 3rd & Fairfax. It has both fresh produce every day as well as great restaurants of all types, from Parisian crepes to Mexican tacos, to Indonesian fare, Brazilian dishes and more. You can also buy fresh fish, meat and produce to bring home and cook on your own grill! The whole family can find something they like with the variety at this outdoor market.

A morning hike at nearby Runyan Canyon is a must for the vacationer as is a scenic drive on Mullholland Drive. Lookout points along the drive will give you amazing views you've only seen in the movies of both Los Angeles and 'the Valley'. Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Six Flags at Magic Mountain are all within a 45 minute drive. Universal Studios City Walk & Theme Park are a mere 15 minutes away. You can even take the subway there from Hollywood!

For fine dining nearby Mario Battali's Osteria Mozza is within walking distance as are other great restaurants for French, Italian and Asian fare. If you are interested in sporting events, theater, concerts or other live music events, we are located within 5-15 minutes from the Staples Center & Nokia theatre, Dodger's stadium, the world famous Sunset Strip, the Kodak Theater (home to the Oscar's), the Pantages Theatre, the Wiltern, the El Rey, the Hollywood Palladium and many many more. Due to our location at the bottom of the hill, when outside in the evening you can often hear the music wafting down the hill from the Hollywood Bowl or glimpse fireworks displays on special occasions from The Grove. The Wilshire Country Club's 4th of July fireworks display is always a treat to watch from the front yard.

We are equidistant from the Bob Hope airport in Burbank and LAX International airport. We are about 10 miles from horseback riding at Griffith Park and 10 miles to theBeaches in the other direction.

Explore the 'non-Hollywood' part of LA too nearby and treat yourself to the rich traditions and cuisines in nearby Thai town, Korea Town, China Town & Little Tokyo.

Los Angeles also boasts a thriving art and cultural community and we are nearby the Los Angeles Contemporary Museum of Art as well as the Geffen at MOCA, the Disney Center, The LA Museum of Natural History, the LA Tar Pits & Paige Museum and the Los Angeles Zoo.
