About Kim Dangremond

Three families own Park Haven Cottage: two siblings and one cousin with five children among them ranging in age from five to fifteen years. The house is family friendly! We have owned the home since 2005, and we immediately made improvements by replacing many of the windows, installing the French doors, changing the siding, adding an outdoor deck, and new Pergola flooring in the kitchen and bathroom. In 2015 we made updates to the living-room, and dinning-room. Each year we try to continue to make as many improvements as we can and are always open to suggestions.

Owner's Response: For the 2016 summer season we have added two portable air conditioning units. One unit is in the living room, and the other unit is in the back bedroom off the kitchen.

Awesome little gem in perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

Our family has been staying at Park Haven for five years now and it is always a highlight of our summer!  The cottage is extremely clean and tidy when we check in, and the kitchen is well-stocked with everything we need for an awesome week.  We always stop at the Walmart (about 10 minutes away) to stock up on groceries, but the cottage is in the perfect location to walk to lots of little shops, grocery stores, and restaurants that we frequent throughout the week.

We love to hang out on the deck, grill out (they provide the grill) and the energy of the town is great -- we can just hang out and have a quiet night or have some friends come over for dinner.  South Haven is obviously known for its gorgeous beaches and parks and Park Haven is simply the best place to enjoy all of it.

The one down side is that the cottage does not have central air and it can get really, really warm at night.  However the homeowners do have a number of floor fans available, which helps everyone to sleep at night.

Other than that, though, I really cannot recommend this little gem enough.  It is a favorite place for my family to relax and enjoy one another and all that South Haven has to offer.  We love it!!

Park Haven cottage is located on the NE corner of Park Avenue and North Street, within convenient walking distance of Lake Michigan, downtown South Haven, and Stanley Johnson Park. Packard Park offers the most convenient beach access and is a brief walk using a sidewalk short cut across the street from the cottage. Packard Park has many amenities including a grassy area with picnic tables, grills, bathhouse, parking, and an observation deck that overlooks the public beach. The Stanley Johnson Park (just five houses to the south on Park Avenue) is the site of many of South Haven’s festivals such as Art in the Park and the Blueberry Festival. By walking south down the one way North Street, it is only three blocks to downtown South Haven and all the local restaurants, the theater, and shopping.
