About Patti Boyd
David Boyd, retired from UT Austin. Patti Boyd, semi-retired from self-employment. We both have lived in Austin area for about 50 years, and have lived at this property since 1995.
Patti Boyd purchased this Cabin in 2010
Why Patti Boyd chose Hammett's Crossing
It is incredibly beautiful, truly, and a very natural area. Austin seems to grow daily, but our place here, only 30 miles from downtown, feels a world away. It is very a peaceful, relaxing place to be, a real getaway from the hustle and bustle.
What makes this Cabin unique
The view from the cabin is phenomenal. Sitting on the porch and relaxing in the swing or glider and enjoying the view of Cypress Creek canyon 120 feet below is a mind-altering experience. It really takes you out of yourself for a bit. If you're a bit adventurous, you can climb down the custom-built iron staircase and trail to an incredibly beautiful deck built on a boulder overlooking Cypress Creek. It feels very much like a giant treehouse, with the sound of the falling water running down below.

Quiet, peaceful get-away
We came for the weekend for my daughter's December birthday. The house is on the owner's property. It is very well maintained and pretty much all you can hear are the birds and the creek which flows right by it and into the Pedernales. There is one bedroom and a loft which was plenty for me, my husband and my two daughters. While the weekend turned out a little colder than we had expected, the girls did enjoy getting out and meeting Sammy, the tortoise, and the goats. And we even had a chance to explore the creek for a bit. Another plus is that the owners are extremely friendly and hospitable. We are glad we chose this one.
Patti and David were so kind! The cabin was nice/clean and so cozy. So wished we could have stayed longer but it was totally worth staying there the night.
Second time to stay, everyone enjoyed it!
Great place, wonderful owners—highly recommend this place!
Beautiful Cozy cabin and Friendly owners.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin is very tastefully done in a beautiful setting. We loved “ Sammy “. Thank you for sharing. ~Angi, Stephanie and Deb.
Charming Country Cottage
Adorable little cottage in the woods with a fantastic view of the river valley. Patti and David were extremely friendly hosts and we enjoyed visiting their tortoise and goats with my young son. The cottage itself is well cared for and clean. Its very secluded and I enjoyed watching the hummingbirds on the porch. Thanks for hosting us Patti and David!
Perfect family get away!
It was everything described on VRBO! My family was extremely comfortable with the accommodations. Location was perfect to all our scheduled activities! I will definitely share with family and friends and look forward to visiting again and making memories!
Hamilton Pool Park is 2 miles and Reimers Ranch Park is 3 miles. We are about 30 minutes from the world famous Salt Lick Barbeque in Driftwood. Fredericksburg is about 1 hour away with many wineries along the way, the closest of which is one-half mile away from our gate.
