Fantastic 1 bedroom apartment on a quiet street in Kew. This is a Victorian one bedroom property in central Kew Gardens completely modernised in 2013 to the highest standard.

It is full of original features with antique marble fireplaces in both the sitting room and the bedroom. The modern kitchen/breakfast room has granite work surfaces and french doors opening onto a small private outdoor area. The walk-in wet room is tiled in Italian stone and has underfloor heating.

Overall it is a first class property in the centre of Kew with two grocery stores (one of which also bakes its own bread and has the best fresh baked pain au chocolat in Kew!), a cafe and restaurants within a two minute walk.

Transport

The property is a five minute walk from Kew Gardens tube station and Kew Gardens British Rail overland train station. Immediately outside the property is a bus stop which will take you to Richmond in 5 minutes, Chiswick in 10 minutes or Hammersmith in 20 minutes.

Nearby

Within a 5 minute walk is the Victoria Gate entrance to Kew Botanical Gardens, UNESCO world heritage site.

Kew Gardens Village is also a five minute walk where you will find a StarBucks, The Glass House (a MIchelin starred restaurant), and a Tesco supermarket, and various smaller cafes, tea shops, restaurants and gift shops.

Why Christopher Barnard chose London

This property is a beautifully renovated flat, with lots of character, in a REALLY convenient location. The nearest shops and restaurants are a two minute walk away, Kew Parade which is a very cute, old fashioned shopping parade, containing over 30 shops, cafes and restaurants, is a five minute walk away.

Kew Gardens tube station and Overground station is a five minute walk which will you with Central London in 25 minutes or Covent Garden in 35 minutes.

The area of Kew Gardens is in West London and is regarded as one of the nicest, prettiest and most genteel.

There are plenty of tourist attractions nearby including: Kew Botanical Gardens, The National Archieves, Syon Park, Chiswick House and Park, The River Thames (you can walk along the tow path or take a boat ride along the river), Hampton Court Palace, Ham House (view the house or watch the Polo matches there in the summer) and Richmond Park the largest park in any European captial city.

Wonderful Apartment in Great Location

Christopher was at the flat to meet me when I arrived and was very courteous and helpful. The flat is in a great location, about a 5 minute or so walk from Kew Gardens tube station and about a 15 minute walk into Richmond (there are buses on the same road that go into Richmond if you don't want to walk). There are some restaurants and a little shop directly across the road, which is very convenient. Kew Gardens is about a 8-10 minute walk and well worth a visit while Richmond is full of shops, restaurants, and bars, as well as a lovely park. To get into central London, it takes about 45 minutes on the tube (depending where you are going). The flat itself is a clean, bright, one-bedroomed place with a well-equipped kitchen and a lovely bathroom (shower, no bath). An added bonus for the winter is the underfloor heating and heated towel rack in the bathroom. There is a small, paved outside area that would be lovely in the warmer weather.

All in all, I would highly recommend Christopher's flat to stay if you want to be in Kew or Richmond. I would definitely stay there again.

Comfortable, well located apartment

We very much enjoyed our stay at Chris's flat in Kew. We were there with our 18 month old toddler to explore Kew and try out the commute as we are thinking of moving to the area. The flat is perfectly located being under 10 minutes walk from the station / Kew Village, near the gardens and within walking distance of the river. All the basics were well taken care of: underfloor heating in the bathroom, walk in shower, well equipped kitchen, comfortable large bed and sofa! Chris was unfailingly helpful in arranging our stay and answering any queries we had, and we'd recommend to anyone who needs a comfortable place to stay in SW London.

Great stay at this lovely apartment

Christopher and Ailsa are exceptionally good hosts. All our communications from start to finish were professional, efficient, courteous, and warm. Their ground floor apartment in Kew was ideal for our needs. It is spacious and very clean and cosy. The bed is comfortable (our number 1 priority), and there is plenty of storage space. The bathroom has heated flooring and a really good shower. The kitchen is well equipped. I loved the super gas hob. The living room is comfortable and there is a wealth of really good books on the shelves, the best range we have ever seen in many years of renting holiday apartments. There were so many really thoughtful, lovely wee touches, like fresh flowers, a very informative local guidebook compiled by the hosts, and a real Christmas tree, all very much appreciated. We didn't use the outdoor seating area, but that would be a nice place to sit and relax over breakfast or a drink in warmer months. The doors from the kitchen and bedroom both lead straight onto this area. The area has a quieter, 'semi-suburban' feel, and has good transport links. The overground train station is a ten-minute walk from the apartment. Tesco Express is located next to the station, and is open till 11.00pm. There is another good convenience store closer to the apartment and a number of restaurants. The bus that stops across the road takes you directly to Richmond. We were always glad to get back to the haven of the apartment late at night, at the end of each of six, very full, busy days in London which, in the lead-up to Christmas, was really hectic. Many thanks to Chris and Ailsa for being such kind, considerate and warm hosts. We wish you all the best for a happy and fruitful 2017. If we are ever back in London, we would be sure to try to stay here again, and we are recommending it to friends.

Great for a London Adventure

To add to the comments of others, we found the transportation options superb. There is bus service with a pair of stops a very short distance away. A short walk away is the Kew Gardens Station overground train. Alongside the walls of Royal Gardens at Kew there is another bus line that we found useful. These all pair up with excellent connections to travel anywhere in Greater London using a low-cost Oyster card.

Attractive, convenient, tasteful flat conveniently located near to Kew Gardens and Village

We stayed at this wonderful flat for a month during a sabbatical leave. I would return in a heartbeat. The flat is tasteful, comfortable, quiet, and conveniently located near Kew Gardens and the National Archives. The neighborhood features fine restaurants and a fabulous natural health foods store and bookstore. The underground is an easy walk, minutes away. Christopher is professional, thoughtful, and friendly, and a non-obtrusive landlord.

Live like a local

As expats it is great to come back to London. As former natives of southwest London we love the great green spaces in this area, Kew Gardens, Richmond Park, Wimbledon Common, ThamesPath and the Wetlands Centre but with the advantage of great transport links to Central London. We loved the flat, all on one level with a large wetroom so very useful for my husband who has some mobility challenges. We came by car so we really appreciated Bernards assistance with vistor parking permits and were able to park just across the road from the flat. Will definitely try to stay here again on our next London visit.
