This house is great for family gatherings or groups of friends that are seeking peace and serenity while enjoying all that Kentucky Lake offers. This chalet-styled home boasts some of the best views of Kentucky Lake from almost every room and the wrap-around decks. Located in a quiet, residential area with a covered, private boat slip/dock on deep water, revel in the sun rising over the lake, view thousands of stars at night, and enjoy the fishing and boating that the Lake is famous for.
On the main level, the living room boasts Italian leather furniture and two stories of windows to take in the “best views of the lake”. The open concept flows into the dining area and fully stocked kitchen. There is also a full bath and a large bedroom with 2 queen beds. The wrap around deck is a great gathering place to relax and enjoy the views or barbeque on the new gas grill.
The upper level has a large loft area with more scenic views. It’s a terrific area for the kids to play games, watch TV, or to read a book. The loft has a queen size sleeper sofa that converts this into another semi-private bedroom. The master bedroom and bathroom with slate tiles and large shower, are also on the upper level. From this bedroom, you can experience the sun rising over the lake – fantastic!
The lower level is sure to please, with a game room complete with a full size pool table and an oak bar with leather bar chairs. There is also a TV nook for watching “the big game”. Also on the lower level is a full bathroom and private bedroom with a queen size bed. Walk out to the lower-level screened in patio (covered by the upper deck) to more seating outside.
The property sleeps up to 10 (1 king, 3 queen size beds and 1 queen sofa bed), 3 full bathrooms (one has a tub, the others have large showers), a full kitchen with all the amenities, and a game room complete with a pool table, bar and leather bar chairs. In full, there are 3 living\ seating areas, upper level deck and lower level screened in patio with plentiful seating.
Cable TV on separate channels (i.e. you can watch different channels in separate rooms!), DVD players, high-speed internet access (wired or wireless) and land-line phone are provided.
The community boat ramp is just around the corner and you can tie up your water toys in the covered boat slip while enjoying the 30' dock for fishing or sunning! If you don’t have a boat, arrangements can be made for daily\weekly rental of pontoon, speed, or fishing boats from nearby marinas!
My husband and I were seeking a waterfront property that we could someday use as our retirement home, when we found this fantastic chalet. The sun coming up over the Land Between the Lakes, privacy, and lake views made it clear that this was the place!
Being as we are a few years away from retirement, we want to share this great house with you! Since purchasing it in 2008 we have completely renovated the house with new appliances, furnishings, a new covered boat slip/dock, screened in porch, new deck, siding, roof and windows to enjoy the fantastic views.
We hope you enjoy this house as much as we do!
Lorie Chezem purchased this house in 2008
This house is like living in a big tree house! On approximately 2 acres, there are no neighbors too close by and a panoramic view of the lake, trees and wildlife. The boat dock is on deep water, so boating and fishing are year-round events.
We looked at other properties in the area, but the wall of windows, open concept and fantastic views made this the home for us!
We have been using HomeAway to find our vacation home for many years, and I depend on reviews when narrowing down properties. This home truly is amazing!! The entire house is beautiful, clean and comfortable. The guys loved the lake and fishing for bass. They also enjoyed fishing from the dock. My favorite spot was the beautiful and spacious deck with the amazing view of the lake; so quiet and relaxing. The property, home and everything in the home is very well maintained and in excellent working order. The Mule made it nice for transporting things to the dock, but we also walked down for exercise, and to exercise the dogs. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals. We packed enough groceries to get us through the weekend, and drove into Murray on Monday to grocery shop. I didn't think the drive to Murray was that bad and you can find anything you need there. We grabbed lunch at Sonic while in town. Later in the week we needed a few things that we were able to get at Dollar General which is just a few minutes away. This property truly is a little piece of heaven! Now it is back to Indiana and reality, ugh!! I have dealt with many owners over the years, but Lorie is totally amazing, very helpful, always quick to respond, and so sweet! Of all the homes we have vacationed at this home was by far the best EVER!! Thank you Ron and Lorie for sharing your home!
Our family wanted a 3-4 bedroom place on a lake, and we chose this location because of the photos and description. We were pleased to find the home was as perfect for our family as the photos suggested, and even more. The home is spacious, clean, well-appointed, and beautifully landscaped. It overlooks the lake so you can watch the sun rise (with room darkening curtains if you don't want early morning sun). The Mule was great to have due to the house being on a hill, although some of us opted to walk up/down the hill for some exercise! Fishing off the dock produced plenty of good catfish for our dinners. We enjoyed preparing all of our meals together and brought a lot of games for good old-fashioned family fun. As we don't have our own boat, we elected to stop at Walmart and pick up a raft for each of us, so a lot of time was spent just floating off the dock on the rafts. We did rent a couple of pontoon boats during our week, and found that Ken Lakes was our preferred marina, only because the lake is deeper a little farther north so we could go fast without worrying about watching the depth-finder. The only thing that kept this lovely home from being 5 stars is the fact that it's 25 minutes to Murray, thus a trip to the grocery or liquor store was not a quick one. Just be prepared - the county is dry - bring plenty of your own beverages if you drink! PS the owner, Lorie, was great to work with!
Great house on the lake with all the amenities you need. Well furnished, everything top of the line -- plenty of towels and pillows. Liked the gas grill, washer & dryer. Enjoyed the huge deck with view of the lake. Owners were easy to work with and very responsive. The only thing needed to make it perfect would be a sandy beach area on the property instead of just swimming off the dock. One hint on fishing Kentucky Lake: watch the YouTube videos on how to fish the ledges!
We loved the property and the amazing front deck. The view to the lake is excellent. There is a Mule to get down to the lake that was very handy and the dock is very nice too. The bathrooms are newly renovated and really nice, the beds were comfortable too.
The house was just as pictured! We had 6 adults and it worked out great as each couple had their own bedroom/bathroom and living space to retreat to if needed. Everything was very clean and very well maintained. Lorie was great to answer questions and assist when needed. The house sits up on a hill and is a distance from the water, but the mule/cart provided made the trip to the lake no issue! The lake, as well as the house, was very quiet and peaceful and we enjoyed meals on the spacious deck. We rented a pontoon from Cypress Springs. The family enjoyed catching many fish from the dock. It was a great vacation! We have already talked about doing it again! Thanks again Lorie!
We took our annual family vacation and chose Kentucky Lake this year. This property was an awesome find for us. The home was everything we hoped for, and Lorie was very easy to work with. The house is situated high on a hill with a steep blacktopped walkway to the lake. Typically they have a Mule for transporting people and supplies. There was a mechanical problem with the machine and was not available for us. Ron and Lorie were very fair and refunded a portion to compensate. Greatly appreciated !!!
Great swimming from the dock and also, we all caught bunches of fish from the dock
Views of the lake are amazing. We enjoyed the decks and the house worked out perfect for 3 families.
We have been using Homeaway for 5 years now, and this was our favorite of all. Definitely will recommend to friends and family
Thanks again for sharing your home with us
Hope to see you next year
