Beautiful property very cozy bedroom beautiful backyard ocean view

  • 5 of 5

My friend and I visited Bermuda it was my first time in the beautiful Island, I couldn’t be any happier to have stayed at this beautiful property, the landlord Mr Wandell and Mrs Xinia were the sweetest person, they came to pick us up at the airport drove us around the island, gave us a tour, Every morning they offer us coffee and pastries, I love the location very peaceful neighborhood , The bus stop was literally a few steps from the house, it was very convenient to go to Hamilton or anywhere else in the island, my friend had a scooter accident, and the Lady was very nice to provide with healing aid for my friend’s wound, I will definitely stay again Jorge Agostino.

Amazing stay in Bermuda!

  • 5 of 5

It was a wonderful trip! The apt is a great value for the price, and the owners are absolutely fantastic. They gave us a tour of the island and were very helpful with all our questions. Would definitely rent from them again!

Paradise..

  • 4 of 5

Our stay with Wendell was fantastic! Wendell met us at the airport and drove us around the island to help us get our bearings and lay of the land, prior to showing us to our room, which really helped us. He was ready and willing to answer all of our questions and catered his suggestions based on what he learned from us and our travel style.

We really couldn’t say enough about the hospitality he provided to us. Spectacular.

The room is just that, a bedroom with a very spacious washroom. Everything you need is in the room but due to its small size it is a bit tough to make it work.. if you plan on eating out every meal this shouldn’t be a concern. If you wanted to fend for yourself a bit, it takes planning and being a bit innovative with your meals.. there is a small camp style bbq which we used and it worked well.

The room is located on the back half of Wendell’s home but is very private with a separate entrance allowing you to come and go without interrupting anyone. The room windows look over South road so you will hear the odd scooter or vehicle but it wasn’t overly intrusive.

The private beach, was quite literally just that because no one else was there which made it a lovely little piece of paradise but it is shared by the residents in the area. Also, be ready to take 130 steps down to the water from the roadside entrance up the street from the house. Being that it is 130 steps up, you can rest assured that the views from the front of the house are unbelievable.

We were met with the challenge of a somewhat rainy few days which made our visit a little more difficult. We had rented scooters to get around the island and with the weather and location we got wet.. The rental is in Southampton, with only a few restaurants within walking distance so you have to be ready to find your way around, whether it be by scooter, bus or foot.

Overall, I would recommend staying here. It’s perfect for an active couple looking for an adventure. We have had a wonderful stay and hope to someday come back to Bermuda. Loved it.

Wonderful stay

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay with Wendell. You can walk to their private beach as well as horseshoe beach and surrounding coves.

Walking to Henry VIII and restaurants at the Fairmont was really easy and convenient.

Being right on the bus stop was also convenient.

Even though we are the spontaneous type that likes new adventures, I think we will find ourselves back there.

Fantastic location, stay and host!!! Would visit again in a heartbeat.

  • 5 of 5

My mother and I travelled to Bermuda in April and we absolutely adored our stay with Wendell and his wife Xinia. They are both wonderful people and greeted us with such warmth and generosity. Wendell met us at the airport when we landed and then brought us on fabulous tour of the island on our way to the house. He knows SO MUCH about the island and we learned so much about its history, current developments, wildlife you name it! We especially loved hearing all about the long tail birds! Wendell even drove us to rent pedal bikes the day we landed, which we really appreciated and always offered advice on areas to go explore. Bermuda has absolutely stunning beaches and we were spoiled by having a beautiful white sand beach (which we mostly had to ourselves the entire time) 2 minutes from the house. The view from the little patio area is BEAUTIFUL! My mom and I would have our coffee and breakfast out there every morning which was a real treat. The room was cozy and quaint and had everything we needed for our time there. I was a bit disappointed that the jacuzzi was not heated, which I expected it would be and it looked like it needed some cleaning. We loved our meals when we were there. We went out to a few restaurants but mostly made picnic lunches and easy suppers. We loved having a little Weber barbecue to cook on and we enjoyed eating supper outside in Xinia's garden. The location was absolutely superb!!!!! There are spectacular beaches everywhere you look on the south shore and great restaurants as well. We enjoyed going for supper at the Ocean Club one night at the Fairmont Princess which is just a short walk from the house. There is also another restaurant we went to called Henry the VIII which was also a short walk away. There was a little convenient store close by that sold some snacks, alcohol and delicious hot lunches (but get there early because those chicken legs go fast!) I do wish there was a grocery store that was closer to our house (it was about a 10-15min bike ride away) Overall it was an incredible week in Bermuda and we couldn't have asked for better weather! Late April is an amazing time to visit the island since it is warm but not busy! We were so thankful to have wonderful hosts and a great place to stay.

Whispering Waves:great location and owner!

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I played in the Bermuda Bridge Regional held at the Southampton Fairmont Hotel. The cost of the hotel was prohibitive, so we looked for alternative housing. We were so fortunate to find Whispering Waves. Wendell Simmons, the owner, met us at the airport and as we rode to the property told us all about Bermuda. The next day, he took us on a mini tour of the area, showed us how to get bus tickets and made sure that we were settled and comfortable. The bus stop is just outside the gate, and the location of the property is halfway between Hamilton and Dockyard where the America's Cup races will soon be held. Very convenient to get a bus and sightsee.

The studio apartment is quite small, but is well provisioned with mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. There are plenty of thick towels, a tv and wifi, and use of a washer, . The only thing missing was a comfy chair. Unfortunately, the weather was cool and rainy, but Wendell graciously gave us a ride to the hotel during the poor weather. When I stumbled and broke two small bones in my foot, he loaned me a cane and carried us to the hotel every day. All in all, we loved staying at Whispering Waves, and made a new friend for life!!
