About Susan Janz

Took on a very distressed lakefront property and made it into what you see today. HOPE YOU ENJOY IT!!!

Susan Janz purchased this cottage in 2008

Why Susan Janz chose Wisconsin

My family and I have stayed in this area for vacations and fell in love with the area. We have done different projects over the years, and when this became available, we loved the lot so close to the water, we thought 'why not'. It has been lots of fun and close to home, therefore, fast and easy to get to.

What makes this cottage unique

I love to sit and look out the window early in the morning. I've seen fish jumping to fox running across the frozen lake, and bald eagles flying over head. My all time favorite is fishing. I've caught fish and I haven't, but I've never had a bad day.

Nice litte house

  • 5 of 5

Husband and I wanted a relaxing week away to recharge. This is definitely a good spot to do this. The lake is very peaceful and quiet. Was expecting to see more birds- eagles especially, but did see a few loons. Husband caught a bass and some Blue gill, which we grilled up.

Only disappointment is the lack of Wi-Fi/ internet. We had very poor reception on our phones. Now, granted, some would say that this is truly getting away- and it was fine, but I do like to stay connected with what is going on in the world. That being said, it did give us time to play games together and just relax.

We both brought our kayaks along, and enjoyed tooting around the lake exploring.

Maybe have a kayak available? Would be nice to not have to bring along.

Overall- great place- VERY CLEAN, nice open space. Comfortable.

Thank you, Susan!

Clean, spacious, comfortable cabin with peaceful lakefront setting.

Thank you so much for letting us rent your cabin. We were up in Gleason for a family reunion. Your cabin was the perfect space for a group gathering. The kitchen was well stocked with all we needed. Thank you and we look forward to rebooking next summer.

Relaxing vacation spot

  • 5 of 5

Very clean and with every amenity you might need. The leaves were just beginning to change, making for some beautiful views from the Adirondack chairs. Unfortunately, the fishing was not great, but there had been several cold snaps before we got there, so we expected it. Did see lots of wildlife in the area; this lake home is very secluded and private. We enjoyed our downtime and relaxation - perfect opportunity to recharge and a perfect place to do that!

relaxing andrestful

  • 5 of 5

we enjoyed our stay. It is a beautiful cabin very well cared for. Had all we needed. Loved various areas for sitting, drinking coffee and looking at lake. Loved the close picnic table and fireplace. Was very comfy, overlooks the lake and also loved by our dog Sophie. We recommend and certainly will come back again. Not far from groceries, owner was very accessible by phone and answered our questions.

Wonderful get away!

  • 5 of 5

Spent a wonderful, relaxing week at this beautiful cabin. Actually, as another reviewer said, this is a house on a lake, not just a cabin. It was cool when we were there and the fireplace was so welcoming. We cooked our dinners in the well-equiped and spacious kitchen. Wonderful hiking right near by in the Harrison Hills.

Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful spot on Long Lake!

Great Lakeside Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My wife, 11 year-old daughter, and I have stayed at this lake house 2 summers in a row now and have had 2 outstanding experiences. This house is beautiful and comfortable inside. From the inside, there's a clear view of the lake which is a couple dozen steps away and full of fish, turtles, and all kinds of other wildlife. The available boat is great for exploring the lake and capable of some fun tubing. We also take out the paddleboat for relaxation and picture taking. My family agrees, we have the most fun right on the dock, simply fishing, sitting in the sun, and swimming. It's very nice to have the garage to keep our fishing gear and other outdoor items. There's no way for me to list all the fun we've had here but I can honestly say, I wouldn't change anything. We're coming for our 3rd stay next summer! Thank you Susan!!
