Guestbook comments from the owner

We booked the house for the May weekend while we attended a wedding in Clonakilty. We are from the British midlands area and are not used to beautiful sea views.Having the alantic ocean on the door step was all new to us. The house was so nice and comfortable with all mod cons I was able to relax for the few days. The kids loved the nearby beach and we could see them clearly from the kitchen window. We were surprised how busy the near by town of Clonakilty was, we even got to see the president of Ireland there.

I can't say enough about the house and the area only that we will be back.

Spectacular house in a spectacular location.

  • 5 of 5

First impressions as you drive to the house is maybe its a bit far out of town!! but no its actually ideal its a house that has everything you can image and with two kids it was a real little treasure trove for them as Jane & David have family of their own so know exactly what is needed to keep the little ones entertained. The interior of the house itself is beautifully decorated and each room has its own character while the exterior due to the elements probably needs constant upkeep it has a beautiful decking area and was again ideal and safe for the kids and with the fine weather on occasion we managed to have a few Barbi`s out on the deck which was fantastic and the view itself has to be seen to be believed. Already in family discussion about booking it for next year as its a great base for exploring West Cork and only a few minutes drive from good Restaurants and pubs. Highly recommend

Lovely views

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely home, with stunning views. Got lost finding it, but once found it is a great location, with possible day trips all around. Be sure to check out the Franciscan friary at

Timoleague-a wonderful old ruin. House has everything you need and very comfortable. Thank you David.

Beautiful Home in perfect location

  • 5 of 5

My daughter and I stayed in Ballinglanna for three weeks over Christmas and New Years and despite the storms rolling over Ireland we couldn't feel more home. The house is exactly as described and offered everything one could need while on vacation. It lies in the quiet bay of Ballinglanna but only a stone's throw away from breathtaking sites and amazing restaurants. We can only imagine how beautiful it must be in summer and hope to be back to experience that soon.

Thanks very much David & Jane for letting us stay in your gorgeous house and for your warm welcome.

Perfect getaway in the most ideal setting.

  • 5 of 5

Found ths house on Daft.ie and the pictures were by far the most eye catching. The real thing didn't disappoint. Loved the house. It was just perfect.Who ever chose the decor has a great eye for detail. It's very homely. The main bedroom is like something out if a book.Dream like.Bunkbeds were a brilliant novelty for the kids. The deck area was fantastic for us as a family (parents, siblings, partners, grandkids) to relax and take in the most breathtaking views. We spent most of our time out there so it was great having two sets of tables and chairs , when the sun went around the side of the house, we could follow :) We would haved loved to have brought our family dog, it was the only drawback (that and no wifi). Still there is a neighbouring pet dog next door who was really friendly and popped over every day.The toys in the house are brilliant, the mini pool table especially. Single storey, open plan layout is great for anyone who has a disability. We hope to return next year with all of the family again. The view, the peace, it was a moment in time we will never forget.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind review. Delighted you enjoyed the house and your holiday. Apologies about the wifi, due to our location our only internet access is via satellite and on occasion causes problems. We hope this did not disrupt your holiday too much and hope to see you in Ballinglanna again in the near future. Kind regards, Jane

Great property in quiet cove

  • 5 of 5

Tastefully decorated and dressed bungalow in a lovely quiet cove 15 minutes drive from Clonakility. Fantastic views to the front of the property of Ballinglanna cove and well equipped bungalow.

Our family (3 adults and 2 kids (4 & 6 yrs) had a great time relaxing at the property and visiting the local areas (Inchydoney Beach was a highlight).

The property could benefit from fencing to the front patio area as the drop of the small lawned area is very steep and quite a concern for smaller children. A pub in walking distance would have been perfect,. But aside from that this is a first class base and property from which to explore West Cork

Lovely house with a spectacular view.

  • 5 of 5

We had an absolutely fantastic week in this lovely, homely and well equipped house. The view across the cove is absolutely spectacular. The children loved the shingle beach and exploring the rocks. is only a 10 minute drive and such a lovely little town, full of independent businesses and great places to eat. We fell in love with West Cork; with a trip to Mizen Head and Barley

Cove proving to be a particular highlight.
