Description

Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday apartment in Quartiere VI Tiburtino - Sanniti Apartment

3 spacious bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sleeps 6, fully equipped kitchen

The apartment is located in the heart of the old and characteristic San Lorenzo. Just a few minutes from Termini station, the San Lorenzo neighborhood is the location of La Sapienza University’s largest campus. The neighborhood’s character is largely lived by a sizable student population, which means that there are plenty of bars and music venues with a more alternative feel, numerous cheap restaurants and a number of used book and clothing stores. Historically a working class area, San Lorenzo has consequently long been off the traditional tourist route. While it may still look a little more run-down than Trastevere, San Lorenzo has become a popular place to go out. Wandering the streets, you’ll discover an intriguing and colorful (everything is covered in graffiti!) part of Rome that will teach you a lot more about the city’s culture – past and present – than many of the conventional tourist sites. The district, which is very lively and has a strong cultural identity, is full of interesting shops and eateries like handicraft shops, bookshop-cafes, pubs, wine bars, restaurants, trattorias and pizzerias. It is a quiet and safe neighborhood, in the evening becoming a crowded meeting place.

Sanniti apartment is a stylish and fully accessorized 85 squared metres vacation rental that can accommodate up to six guests. It is located on the top floor, with elevator, of a beautiful, newly restored 19th century building in Piazza dei Sanniti, in the San Lorenzo neighborhood. It is made up of three spacious bedrooms, two of which overlook Piazza dei Sanniti, one with a small balcony. The modern interior design combines elegance and functionality; each room, with different colors, has its own personality. There are two bathrooms with shower (no tub). The kitchen and the dining area are well-designed and furnished with every appliance required for a pleasant stay, including washer, dishwasher, fridge with freezer, and electric kettle.

The apartment has air-conditioning in every room, wi-fi internet connection, LCD TV, satellite decoder, DVD/DivX player, portable stereo, hair-dryer, iron and ironing board. Baby crib available on request.

Price includes utilities. The more you stay the less you pay: discounts on longer stays. Tourist tax 3,5 Euro per person per night not included.

Adequate, but pricey.

  • 3 of 5

We were three adults and two kids 9 (11 and 15) who stayed in the Sanniti apt for one week.

Pros:

-Three nice bedrooms

-Larger than usual refrigerator and pantry

-Two bathrooms

-Interesting area that we would have liked to explore more for

the resturants.

-Air conditioning in each room

-Reasonable priced grocery stores and fruit market nearby

-ATM across street

-Nearby public transportation. Eight minute walk to #71 bus,

15 to 20 minute ride to train station bus hub to get another

bus to destination.

Cons:

-Cramped eating area, no living room. Best for visitors (unlike

us) who eat most of their meals out.

-No microwave oven

-One bathroom had a persistent odor

-Area around kitchen sink was a black, asphalt like material,

that was unattractive and hard to clean.

-Was much more expensive than similar apartments that we

rented for a week each in Venice and Florence

-Limited TV channels. We were unable to see the Germany

vs Argentina soccer championship match. But, two minutes

from the apt is a inexpensive local restaurant/bar with great

food (23 euros to feed all of us) where we watched the game.

Had we found this place earlier we would have eaten there

more often.

-Gasket on front-loading washing machine was moldy and we

didn't want to use it.

Owner's Response: Dear Louis, we really apreciate that you took the time to give us your feedback. It is very important for us as we try our best to make our guest stay the best possible. We regret that you found the dining area not fitting your needs, when we restored the apartment we preferred to give priority to the spaciousness of the bedrooms since they are usually the spaces where our guests spend most of the time when they are in the apartment. Anyway we have equipped the kitchen with everything we think may be necessary to prepare complete meals and we are evaluating the possibility of adding even a microwave oven. We regret that it was not to your liking the architectural solution that has been designed for the kitchen counter, it is a shelf of concrete coated with a layer of resin and we found it functional and easy to clean, but we understand that it cannot please everyone. We are very sorry for the smell you felt in the bathroom, it can happen when the temperature is very high and dry the water in the shower drain and smells rise from the pipes, but you can easily solve it by flowing the water again. We hope to welcome you again in the future, a warm greeting, Gabriele

Ideal Italian Villa in Rome for vacation

  • 5 of 5

Me and my family had a home away from home here. Its ideally situated near train and bus stations. The grocery store downstairs was a big plus. Rooms were beautifully furnished and well air-conditioned. Kitchen was fully equipped with lot of extra conveniences. The owner was very helpful in making our stay pleasant. We would recommend this place highly. It was absolutely money's worth.

gentilezza e serietà

  • 3 of 5
