We really enjoyed our stay. John is a very caring and responsive host. The property is clean and comfortable (filled with beautiful objects de art!). Great views and really nice neighborhood. We loved the adjacent parks - this is a real neighborhood. It is very close to the High Line and the Chelsea Market. Also the subway is just around the corner.
Sometimes at the end of the day the hike up the stairs was exhausting but that is fully disclosed! Also, it is great exercise!
We had the pleasure of staying in this Chelsea walk-up apartment. It is very nice, just like in the pictures. It was clean, and everything worked well. The decor is very nice. John, the owner, met us there when we arrived, and showed us the ropes. He also kindly left some nice gifts, some wine, sparking water, fresh cupcakes, and other snacks. He left his number, and was just a call away if we needed anything. It is just a block to the subway system, and is also very close to the High Line park and lots of shops and restaurants. It's "living in the neighborhood" with the residents, and we enjoyed that. John was flexible when we asked for a later check-out. The building and neighborhood felt safe. You must be comfortable climbing 5 flights of stairs - if that's a problem, then this probably isn't your place. The hallway carpeting isn't new, but is clean, and the residents we met were very friendly. If stairs are okay for you, and you want to experience staying in a popular Manhattan neighborhood with excellent walking nearby, you should check out this apartment.
The apartment is in great shape and in a fantastic location in Chelsea, a one-minute walk from the A/C/E line (E takes you to JFK airport) and a two-minute walk from the L line (going eastwards). All amenities like kitchen supplies, towels, sheets were provided and in excellent condition. The host John was super friendly and helpful, welcomed us in person to show us how everything works, and stayed in touch with us via email to check whether my wife and I found everything alright. We had a really great stay here and can recommend this place to anybody staying in New York City.
Perfect location, close to subway, restaurants, Chelsea market and Highline. Nice apartment with a view of Empire State from bed. Owner very considerate. Comfy and nothing missing. Be prepared for the climb - it's 4 flights, but good exercise and worth it. We'd stay here again.
Thank you John for our wonderful stay at your apartment. The pictures do not do it justice! Loved the views and the artwork. Just a short walk to Chelsea Market and the High Line. We enjoyed exploring the neighbourhood and it was a great home base for exploring other parts of New York City as well! Thank you again for everything!!!
Great condo for the price. The location is very handy to the subway and all things lower Manhattan.
The condo has great light and lots of windows. The windows are on to a basketball court and close to Eighth. It is very loud day and night. I slept ok with earplugs. The entry and many stairs are worn and dirty but the condo itself is well equipped and clean.
