About Ron & Andrea Gilles

The Lake house has been in our family since 2003 allowing both of our children to enjoy the summers on the lake. It's been a favorite getaway for my wife and I on the weekends during the winter months to enjoy the peacefulness of the lake. Also a favorite place for our family to enjoy the Holidays - Thanksgiving & Christmas - the more snow the better! One Christmas our son Brendon snowboarded off the roof of the garage, we had so much snow! Our main home is in Sequim, WA just 45 minutes away so it is a quick getaway. I personally enjoy the Hot Tub at night under the amazing stars that out on a clear night or in the morning with a cup of coffee at while gazing at snow line on Mt. Storm King on the South side of the lake. Lake Sutherland from our deck has been described by a friend as 'just like being on Lake Como in Italy'! The Lake house is on the Sunny Side of the Lake, so it's very enjoyable year round.

Ron & Andrea Gilles purchased this cabin in 2003

Why Ron & Andrea Gilles chose Port Angeles

Family memories and my Father-in-law wanted his grand kids to expierence growing up on a lake. Because he grew up on Lake Washington in Seattle. Personal Birthday parties with live bands down at the Maple Grove community docks.

What makes this cabin unique

Swimming at midnight under the stars, waterskiing, fishing, powerboating and wine & cheese boat cruising, hiking on the Spruce Railroad Trail at Lake Crescent or Marymere Falls. Enjoying a faboulous hamburger at the Lake Crescent Lodge.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Beautiful Lake House

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Lake Sutherland in this beautiful house. The only problems: Right side of the sink was stopped up and the front toilet needed some attention. Everything else was perfect. We traveled with an infant (5 months old) and 3 adults. Space was perfect and could of easily accommodated 3 more adults. We had wonderful weather, hot tub was great, fire pit, kayaks were awesome amenities. Neighborhood was quiet. Stars were beautiful at night with a cup of wine and relaxing in the hot tub. We would definitely stay here again! Thanks

Beautiful Lake House

  • 4 of 5

The house was cozy and as described. But, be aware that the neighbor (in the house directly east) is not the friendliest! We arrived to the rental a little less than an hour before check-in but the cleaners were still doing their thing, so we parked and waited outside. Since the cleaners were still there, we could only fit one of our two cars in the driveway. We parked the second car in the gravel area to the east of the house thinking that would be fine - there were no other cars, we were sitting in the car, and we weren't planning to park there for long. The neighbor came out of her house and went door to door to the surrounding houses asking about the car, rather than coming up and asking us (we were in the car the whole time). Then finally she did come up and told us we couldn't park there for the remaining 20 minutes we had to wait, even after explaining we were just waiting for our driveway to clear out. Just be aware that those neighbors are fairly sensitive to their surroundings!
