'Why are we going back to NY?' I lived in Aruba before & want to go back but our daughters are in school & my husband has a job and my family is here in NY so it would be hard to go now. My son went to school in Aruba and he had to speak Dutch and Papiamento Spanish and English! My daughters would really have a hard time learning different languages now! My son started as a baby when it is so much easier to learn. So for now our gorgeous house on the spectacular island of Aruba is shared with families from Around the world! Please enjoy it! Come stay there you will Love it! And I will make sure you have a wonderful time and will help you plan everything!!! I also have a wonderful lady that will come to the house and Babysit the kids while you go to dinner or the casino or for a late night walk on the beach Alone ;) (amazing info. for couples with little kids)

Hi my name is Marie I am lucky to have an awesome husband who is a native Aruban! Our son (in the profile pic) was born in Aruba and currently models in NYC and around the world - he can be included for an extra fee - pool boy, lotion boy, what have you?? (lol) Our daughters, are both in school and driving us crazy (like kids will). My husband and I met in Aruba and were fortunate to have owned a great watersports business on Eagle Beach. Business was amazing – we were able to work on the beach together, in our swimwear and maintained year-round tans. What a life! Although we now reside in NY and my husband has traded the white sand for the white snow! We decided that our dream was to retire and return to Aruba. We bought this house in a great neighborhood that we hope will make you feel as at home as we do. Fortunately, we have had many delightful families enjoying our home and the amenities that we are proud to offer. Since Frans and I both have lived on the island, we are available to assist you in planning an incredible family vacation, romantic getaway, or even honeymoon. Our knowledge of the island is enhanced by the many friends and connections we maintain. We can assure you that you will be well-guided and treated with excellence. We will even share the best kept 'secrets' of the island that only the locals know. Whether you want to hang with locals and feel a like a true Aruban, enjoy complete privacy and intimacy, or explore the adventure of the island with your children, then we can be your tour guides! Share our home, our history, and add to the legacy of which we are so proud. We love Aruba and know you will too! We look forward to hearing from you and assisting you in planning the vacation of a lifetime! Warmest regards, Marie and Frans
Marie purchased this villa in 2011

My now husband and I went to Aruba for the first time 4 years ago. We returned two years ago and my then boyfriend proposed in the place that we both love so much. When it came time to start planning our wedding, a destination wedding has always been a dream. Aruba, we both knew, was the place we wanted to be married. Instead of going to the hotels, we wanted a place where our close family and friends could stay with us and just enjoy and celebrate in this special time. I began looking on VRBO and found Marie’s house. Just by looking at the pictures I was in love. I contacted Marie immediately as we were looking to stay near the hotels and by the description I knew this would be the right place. I did send other inquiries out as well but did not receive the genuine and quick response like I did from Marie. She helped me plan EVERY detail of not only my trip, but guided me with all the wedding details as well. She put me in contact with a wedding planner who helped with the ceremony piece of our wedding. Marie then helped me with the reception. She called various restaurants to get menu and pricing details, then spoke with me on the phone for many hours to review the information. When we came to a decision, Marie called the restaurant to make our reservations and set up all the necessary details that we had discussed. She helped relieve so much of the stress of planning a destination wedding! Marie also generously helped with making our hair appointments for the day of as well as finding us a wonderful photographer. I don’t think our wedding would have been such a success if it wasn’t for her guidance and help. Marie also helped get my family and friends homes to stay in around her house. When we arrived in Aruba, Marie had the buses waiting for us to bring us to the homes where we were staying. We arrived at Marie’s house and we were ecstatic. The house was spotless and had everything that was listed as amenities. We had plenty of room for the 6 of us staying at the house. The grounds and pool are just fantastic. We had a dream wedding weekend. All of our plans were set out for us, including dinners and activities before we arrived! I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a spectacular Aruba experience. The location, home itself and owner go above and beyond your wildest dreams!
Not only is this house in a great location (just a across from the Marriott's & Ritz), but because it is off the main drag you enjoy the seclusion of a private house with a pool without the crowds of tourists if that is not your thing. However, if your thing is the crowds and being in the direct mix of all the hustle and bustle of the tourists, its just a quick walk around the corner and you are right on the sands of Palm Beach amongst all the high rise resorts. If the location is not enough, Marie is simply amazing to work with. My son and I were traveling in from Europe and my family members were traveling in from several locations in the US, I provided Marie with a list of things we would like to do during our week on the island and she set everything up (from paddle boarding to skydiving). Marie knows the island after having lived there herself and running a water sports business, so she knows who to pair you up with to ensure you have the most enjoyable experience. For our paddle boarding adventure, I would have most likely booked with an outfit on Palm Beach (merely because I was getting all my info from Trip Advisor and the internet)... but Marie set up our lesson with a trusted outfit, who picked us up at the house, took us to beautiful tranquil waters, and not only taught us how to paddle board properly (I almost made it the entire 3 hour exclusion without falling at all ... but towards the end I did tumble into the waters surprisingly trying to get off my board), our guide provided us with some history of the island and ensured we had an amazing experience. Additionally Marie provided us with a transfer to and from the airport (and found us a very reasonably priced rental car ... not brand new, but we were there to experience island life, not a "best" car competition). Beyond all the reservations and touring arrangements, she suggested amazing restaurants to dine at, and sites to see which were not on my list.
The house was great, for 6 of us (my parents, sister, 17 year-old son, nephew and myself). The layout of the house worked perfectly for us, as my son and I were able to share the room with 2 queen beds, my sister had her own room, my parents had the master suite and my nephew had the twin bed. The living room/dinning room/kitchen is an open floor concept, the dinning table on the veranda is great for lunch and dinner. The pool was perfect size for our needs, some water aerobics, light swimming and splashing and sunbathing.
This house is across the street from the Marriott hotel and close to the beaches. We drove to the beaches because it was nice to be able to experience all the different beaches in the area. We went in March and there was no traffic, no crowds and plenty of room to sit and enjoy. The house had three bedroom two baths a large gathering area and beautiful pool. Marie the owner helped us with restaurant reservations, tour reservations and horse back riding plans. We could text her for directions or advice and she responded immediately. There is no hot water in the shower but after a long day out or on the beach it was perfect. We would definitely return here in the future.
I was greeted at the airport by Rino (care taker of Marie's house) great trustworthy man that keeps things running smoothly between house and guests, Marie's right hand guy! He brought me to this beautiful house, I quickly changed and went to the pool... It was a bath tub...I looked around and said, "I'm in paradise!" And I felt that everyday I was there!!! The house is beautiful, clean and spacious!! The location is exactly what I like, not on top of everything yet close enough. I ate at Pam Pam (yum yum) lol, and the Belgium House!! Wow, the food was fabulous! Drooling remembering the Italian coffee!
I'm saving up for next year!! I can't wait to go again!!!!
Marie is the friendliest person to deal with and knows Aruba better than I know my own town!!
This rental house was my 'home' away from home...all the comforts yet in paradise.
PS I went home with a rescue dog!!! She's my Aruba special...may have to bring another one home next time!
I am going to start by saying that I am writing a detailed review because I really understand how incredibly helpful they are! My family and I decided to take our 4th trip to Aruba in April (yes a little delayed on the review). We have traveled a lot all our lives and Aruba has been one of our favorite places to go to. For this trip, there were 6 of us and to get two or three rooms at one of the hotels was just too much. So instead, we decided to look into renting a house. This was the first time using VRBO. I emailed a few listings to see the responses that I would get. The owner, Marie, of this property got back to me immediately! She is extremely helpful and made me feel comfortable right away. I explained my concerns and she assured me that she would help me every step of the way. Her and I kept in constant contact, she answered all my questions, helped me plan activities and even made our dinner reservations to get into the great restaurants! Our stay at the house was just as phenomenal as she is. The house was super clean with lots of space. It is in an ideal location right behind the Marriott and The Ritz-Carlton. It gives you your own private oasis while still being right where everything is. The pool is wonderful and was sparkling clean each day. We were able to take many night swims as well in our private backyard. The kitchen is great and spacious. You are so close to the grocery stores that we were able to make breakfast and lunch at home, as well as some dinners with the great Weber BBQ that is there. We just sat out on the back porch, ate and enjoyed the beautiful weather. I cannot say enough good things about our stay at this house. We are so glad that we found this property. We are already planning our vacation next year and will be absolutely staying here again. All around 5 stars!!
My husband & I went from 1/20/14 to 1/27/14. We absolutely miss being in Aruba right now but have so many memories. We stayed at Marie's house which was fantastic because we didn't have to stay at a hotel. We are passed that. Her house is so close to everything including the main beaches. She set up for many things such as being picked up from the airport to be driven to the car rental place where that was set up as well to even making reservations for us for a couple of places to eat. Ah, places to eat.....we went to Passions on the Beach, which you can literally put your feet in the sand at a table and have your dinner by the sunset. It was on the pricy side but an adventure for sure. Another place I'd recommend is La Trattoria el Faro Blanco at the Lighthouse restaurant. It's a cool place to drive up to at night and the food is terrific. I'm Italian, so I am fussy about my Italian food!!! You do need a reservation though. We got a lot of recommendations from Reno(who is Marie's right hand man per se) and ate at a few "local" places. Peanuts is one, and Zeerover is another. I never tasted such different flavors at Peanuts and was amazed. At Zeerover's, they cook whatever they caught during the day(we had Barracuda and shrimp served with a delicious garlic sauce and plantains). Did I mention that the price was $13 and you get a lot of food? It was wonderful that we had a grill to BBQ because we did grill quite a bit by the beautiful pool and scenery provided to us. Sometimes I almost just wanted to eat at the house all the time because it was beautiful. I mentioned Reno...he was very helpful in setting us up with the cell phone there, going over things about the house, and suggesting places to go for eating and entertainment. We did attempt to go dancing but found that the places we went were geared more toward the "younger" crowd. I was disappointed with that because I love to dance. But we did end up going for a fantastic restaurant called Gianni's and had a tasty pizza at 1 in the morning.I have so much to say about Aruba...go everywhere and do everything! The house was so clean and had many amenities. Marie is the best planner and I would do it again!! By the way, SkyDive Aruba awaits you down the street. Yes I jumped 10,000 feet from a plane and saw Aruba like you never did. I'd do it again. Aruba is def "One Happy Island"!!
