Owner / Property Manager purchased this house in 2003
Everything about this cabin was top notch. It was well decorated, had great entertainment and it has a great view of the mountains. The hot tub was awesome as well. The driveway has two entrances and you will need to use the back entrance if you do not have a truck; the front is pretty rough. Only complaint is that I have never seen a grill without a temperature gauge. Only 2 burners worked but it was useless anyways because you cant cook anything without knowing the temperature of the grill
Our family really enjoyed the stay at Lacy's Log Cabin. It was clean and well furnished. The hot tub was an especially amazing experience. Although the temperature was single digits, we were able to enjoy the majestic night sky while the water in the tub stayed over 100 degrees. Rooms were roomy and fire place made things warm and cozy. The kids especially enjoyed seeing the herds of deer wondering the neighborhood. We could feel the amazing love and hospitality left by the owners of this property. Big thanks to Bill (local property manager) for clarifying the location directions and the advice to bring plenty of fire wood. It was easy and convenient to receive and return keys. Thank you for trusting us with your cabin. We will come back in the future.
WE WENT FOR MY HUSBAND'S BIRTHDAY IT WAS WONDERFUL, THE CABIN WAS VERY NICE, THE FIREPLACE WAS GREAT (JUST REMEMBER TO BRING FIRE WOOD) WE ENJOYED THE HOT TUB ON THE COLD NIGHTS AND THE HUGE WINDOWS LOOKING OUT AT THE SNOW WAS AWESOME.
Dreams of a White Christmas became a reality and there was no better place to experience it than at Lacy's Log Cabin in Alto, NM. The log house is wonderful with a great view of Sierra Blanca from the spacious front porch. The Milky Way put on quite a spectacular show in the winter sky. The radiant floor heat during the cold weather was a treat and the pool table was fun for the grands. The hot tub was ready upon arrival and felt relaxing, day or night. Hand feeding apple slices, carrot coins...and maybe an oatmeal cookie or two...on the back deck to the herd of deer passing by mornings and afternoons was a thrill for everyone. With Santa and reindeer snacks set out by the toasty fireplace, we slipped into bed Christmas Eve hoping for snow. And it did! After opening presents, we bundled up and went sledding on the neighborhood streets and made a snowman. So much fun. The gas grill cooked our Christmas steaks to perfection. The house contact person was easy to reach by phone prior to the trip and had helpful answers to my questions. Our family made magical memories at Lacy's Log Cabin.
The pictures do not do this beautiful location justice. As we drove up for our yearly "Chick Trip", the jacuzzi was being prepared for our use by maintenance. Aside from that, our group of ladies were left to our own devices in an immaculate, fully stocked and furnished cabin with breathtaking views overlooking the mountains of Ruidoso. It was unseasonably hot (95) on our first day of arrival, but quickly cooled to 55 that evening. The cabin had a roll-away AC unit that we didn't even bother using, as the cool breeze through the windows, along with the ceiling fans, were enough to keep the cabin temperature comfortable. We enjoyed the sunsets and sunrises from ample swings and rocking chairs scattered around both decks on either sides of the cabin. We particularly enjoyed hand feeding apples, carrots and celery to the deer popped in for a visit. We an early morning horseback ride at Grindstone Stables with some of the most friendly and helpful guides, and followed up with an adrenaline rush of an afternoon Zipline ride at Ski Apache. The first attempt to zipline was delayed by a day for us due to lightning in the afternoon. Because this is considered "monsoon season", afternoon showers common. Plan accordingly!! We really enjoyed the easy friendliness the community of Ruidoso exudes as a whole, and was pleasantly surprised to see how pet-friendly this community is as well. Last year's chick trip was the beach, but our stay in Ruidoso won a very special place in our hearts. We WILL be back!!!
