A few steps to the beach, this charming villa with spacious rooms and living room seating was a restful place to land each day. Treasure Cay offers friendly people, easy access to grocery shopping, island night life, and walk the beach to exquisite dining experience at Sands Bar. No blaring city lights and an Executive Chef behind every plate, you'll be sure to remember this meal beneath the Milky Way. Enjoy the finest beach the oceans have to offer at Treasure Cay, Abaco Island, Bahamas.
We have just returned from our Bahamas vacation which included a 7 night stay at this villa. Although not overly fancy, it is comfortable, clean and has almost everything you need and a little extra for a great price. The only thing we were missing was an outdoor grill/bbq. The owner and caretaker were responsive to our questions and needs and easy to communicate with. The beach and pool are only steps away and the beach is amazing! During our stay it wasn't busy and you could get a beach chair at any time during the day. Treasure Cay is friendly, safe and & has all amenities close at hand. During our stay the population was mostly older adults so our 17 & 19 year old children weren't able to hang out with similar aged people but we were able to keep them busy on the beach, snorkeling, golfing and exploring the neighboring Cay's for most of the stay. My husband and I would return without a second thought!
The unit is very close to the pool and the beautiful beach and provides a comfortable stay. The wifi and the phone service were out when we were there so that gave us some trouble checking in with work and arranging activities for our stay. We weren't warned of this either, even though it was a cut line that the resort was aware of before our arrival. It did force the kids to unplug so that wasn't a bad thing. The weather was incredible most of our stay the week after Christmas. We managed to find our way to do most activities on our list, but were not able to rent boats or golfcarts this week because we didn't reserve in advance and they were sold out - surprisingly, because it never seemed busy or crowded anywhere except pizza night at Tipsy's. We rented a car and drove to Cherokee where the view from the long dock is incredible! Also visited the other keys and enjoyed more amazing beaches and cute shops and restaurants. Expect to pay almost double here what you would in the US for basic grocery items and gas, and most places to get both close early daily and all day Sundays. The few restaurants are in walking distance from the unit and have good food, but lunch is much more value for the price than dinner. As it wasn't high season yet, the restaurants weren't always open at the advertised times nor hosting the advertised weekly events (no bon fires or steak nights). The unit has some wear and tear as would be expected from an island home, but is clean and well stocked. This is not a luxury vacation, but well worth the price paid to relax and enjoy a peaceful, beautiful laid back vacation.
We had a great time. Very quiet yet secure. The villa is very comfortable and comes stocked with far more than expected. Absolutely beautiful 3 mile beach and steps to the pool. Everything you need is close by. You can walk down the beach to Coco Beach Club and Bahama Beach Club which offer beach side bar and dining. Prices for everything on the island are high due to high import duties, 7.5% vat and often an automatic18% on your restaurant tab. You can rent a car, golf cart or bike directly across the street but most things are in walking distance. We did a bike one day. Also directly across the street is a grocery, bakery, Post Office, ATM, marina area and more restaurants. Also where you can rent boats or book excursions to the outer islands, snorkeling and scuba trips. we rented a car one day and drove end to end on the island. Not really a lot to see. Treasure Cay is a great, self contained community. The cottage was perfect. WiFi & TV but little else in electronics. We were only one couple so the accommodations were more than large. Beds are excellent, everything was clean. Excellent communication from the owner. Weather was mostly good. Had a great time.
We absolutely loved our stay, the location was amazing right next to the pool and ocean! The villa is very well maintained and has everything we needed to enjoy our fun in the ocean and pool! Definitely will be returning!!
Despite the poor weather during our stay, we had a great time in Treasure Cay! The villa was exactly as described and the location was even better than we had hoped, seconds to the pool, beach and a few minutes from town. Any of my questions for the villa owner were answered promptly. The community where the villa is located was super, a lot of friendly people and a heated pool. CoCo beach bar was our daily ritual and the Spinnaker is a great dinner choice. Treasure Cay is a laid back town with incredible people and a stunning beach, definitely worth a visit. Thank you for a great stay!
We spent the whole month of Feb. 2015 in this cute villa. The location to the beach & pool is excellant! The beach is even more beautiful than the pictures and you can walk for miles in the white sand. Loved the fact that it was a short walk to all of the amenities and found all the locals to be friendly and helpful. We rented a car so we were able to explore the entire island. Love everything about it!

Treasure Cay, Bahamas is a small coastal community on the east coast of the island of Abaco in the Bahamas. Treasure Cay is approximately 165 miles due east of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, United States.
Their 5-star golf course has attracted PGA greats for decades. Their beaches are a well kept secret, and known locally to be superb. The big crescent beach has been voted by National Geographic to be one of the top 10 most beautiful beaches. The town of Treasure Cay consists of a bakery (Florence's-best cinnamon rolls ever), the tipsy seagull bar on the marina and cocoa bar on the big beach, a restaurant called the Spinnaker, library and general store, with accommodation for tourists on the South End Bahama Beach Club condo development. There are boats that can be chartered and great bone fishing.
The people of Treasure Cay are all very friendly, most speak English and French. Treasure Cay Airport serves the community.
The Great Abaco Family Fitness Weekend takes place in March in Treasure Cay, and consists of an open water swim, triathlons, and a 5k/10k fun run/walk. This is the premiere sporting event in Abaco and is popular with both locals and tourists alike.
