About Sharon Shutts
We have been coming to South Maui for over 30 years and still love coming!! The atmosphere is always so peaceful and restful and lets you recharge 'your batteries!” We have owned Kamaole One since 1996 and keep improving and added items to our home.
Sharon Shutts purchased this Condo in 1995
Why Sharon Shutts chose Kihei
We chose to buy in this area because the weather on this part of Maui is nearly perfect year around.

Beach front condo
Location, location, location!! Fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the waves on the beach. Watch whales from the balcony. This property was exactly as expected and totally awesome. We loved staying here. Well appointed condo. We hope to stay here again in the future.
Location, Location, Location
The view from the lanai is stunning. You are steps from one of the best beaches in the world and an easy walk to all the amenities of Kihei. You will enjoy your stay here.
Kihei condo on Charley Young Beach!
This condo is truly on the beach and well worth the money. A quiet complex with beautiful sunset views from the lanai. Nicely appointed with a fully stocked kitchen, washer/dryer and comfortable living areas. Plenty of beach towels and a couple of beach chairs. Easy walking distance of many shops and restaurants in Kihei. Parking is tight, avoid full-size SUV, our midsize was towards the maximum. The downstairs twin size mattresses need to be replaced due to cavitation but we would still return to this condo in a heartbeat!!! Thank you Sharon!
Beautiful location right at Charlie Young beach. Great snorkeling nearby at rocks with lots of turtles. You could sit for hours on lanai and watch the waves. Would definitely come again.
Visit #2 - As delightful as visit #1
This is our 3rd time to Kamaole One, and 2nd time staying in Sharon's property. (If two reviews from the same person are not allowed, well, then so be it!) We now have experience with the lower units (one floor, one bedroom/bath, more spread out, patio area, direct access to beach via lanai and grass area) and upper - such as Sharon's (two floors, two bedrooms/baths, more cozy, requires trip around the building to the beach). We debated our preference, but each came to the conclusion that for us - a family of four - we prefer upstairs. While it's a bit of a longer trek to the beach ("trek" being an awfully lazy term for a less than a minute scurry), the 2nd bedroom is key as is the view from a 2nd floor including view of the water from the master bedroom bed.
I already elaborated on how wonderful Sharon's unit was in my last review, so I'll just say that it's very well stocked with condiments, spices, utensils, cookware, etc. We recalled it being better stocked than expected the first time, and it's still well stocked. Can't say more positive things - we will be back again!
Awesome location but condo is a little tired.
The location is amazing. Right on the beach with great snorkeling just a few hundred feet away. Stores. restaurants, and bars within walking distance. Newly renovated kitchen is nice. Great to have beach chairs and an umbrella to use, but one umbrella was broken and laying on the balcony so 4 of us had to huddle under one (which didn't work).
Our disappointment came with the condition of the condo. Carpet is dirty throughout. Found a half-eaten candy bar and a dirty sock behind couch pillow. Coffee pot still had coffee in it and we found several dirty glasses in the cabinet. Trash compactor smells even when empty (things someone put in without a bag and hasn't been cleaned). Downstairs bedroom closet is jammed with sandy beach equipment and leaves no room for luggage and there's no place else to store it. My two teenagers were very cramped in that room. Didn't realize that there is no wall in the "master bedroom" as it is open to the living room. Nice for watching the beach from bed but not for privacy. Couch and chairs in the living room are hard and uncomfortable. Nice balcony but it was also dirty and overly crowded with furniture. Beach chairs also had dirty socks, napkins and garbage in them (I assume from previous renters).
All in all it was fine since we were gone a lot. There's no way any more people could have fit. We had 2 adults and 2 teens.
Never received a text back from owners on first day (I had a question).
I am sorry you found the place so uncomfortable and I will talk to my cleaning staff on the other issues you discussed. I never got a text from you so maybe you had the wrong number. I always answer my messages. Generally there is only one umbrella and 4 chairs so someone else must have left a umbrella as they sometimes do.
