The Stoney Hill Road House is located at Malabar Farm, a boutique horse farm catering to dressage lessons and trail riding. The house is a post and beam masterpiece designed in the American craftsman style by critically acclaimed, local architect, Phil Regan of Hutker Architects. Completed in 2009, this 6,500 sf estate home has four formal bedrooms, three full and two half baths, two roll in showers and an outdoor shower. There are also three other rooms with fold out queen couches if your group exceeds eight adults. The primary architectural feature is the 1,000 sf Great Room which was hand crafted of fir, cherry, ash and cypress. The west wall is dominated by a massive stone fireplace and the east wall by a 20 foot long cherry bar which overlooks the chef's kitchen. The north and south walls are adorned by glass affording open views across fields and into the woods. No other houses can be seen from The Stoney Hill Road House.

In addition to super comfortable furniture and beds, the house has a high end whole home audio/video setup with lightning fast cable internet, Direct TV, Apple TVs with NETFLIX, HBO & SHOWTIME. Guests can play their own DIGITAL content over AirPlay. There are two separate TV Rooms and the master bedroom has a full surround sound theater.

There is also a full movie theater and bar that seats 12 comfortably and has a 10 ft diagonal projection screen and 7.4 surround sound audio.

Outside, there are north and south facing patios and the west end of the house has a screened porch for enjoying those beautiful summer nights without any insects. There is over an acre of manicured lawn that your kids of all ages will love.

There are Land Bank walking trails and the island bike paths are accessible from directly from the property, no driving necessary. However, a short drive of under five miles lands you in Vineyard Haven, Oak Bluffs or Edgartown for shopping, dining or sightseeing.

  • The Stoney Hill Road House has 3 full bathrooms, a powder room and a very spacious outdoor shower. The master bathroom has a full roll in shower to accommodate a wheelchair, if necessary, and a glass enclosed shower room with an attached soaking tub. There are his and her sinks. The second full bathroom is part of Bedroom #2 and it has a traditional combination tub with integrated shower and a single sink. This 2nd bathroom is shared with TV Room #2 if the latter is being used as sleeping quarters. The third full bathroom has a roll in shower. It is downstairs and is shared with bedrooms # 3 & 4 and the downstairs living room couch if it is being used for sleeping. The powder room is located near the kitchen.

  • The Stoney Hill Road House has four bedrooms. The master bedroom has an attached private office, walk in closet, built in dressers, cabinets and shelves and a private bath with a roll in shower and a second shower and soaking tub. Bedroom # 2 also has a private attached bathroom with full tub and shower. This room has a queen size bed with an outdoor patio area that is shared with TV Room # 2. Bedroom # 3 has a queen bed and bedroom # 4 has a king bed. These two bedrooms share a full bathroom downstairs which also has a roll in shower. There is a downstairs living room that has a fold out queen bed and the TV Room # 1 also has a fold out queen couch. Both TV Rooms have doors and can be closed off from the rest of the house.

Gorgeous property inside and outside

Our multi-generational group, 75 to 11, found this a perfect spot for our summer holiday. The house is beautifully equipped for cooking, entertainment, and pure relaxation. The gardens and grounds are spectacular; the photos do not begin to do them justice. And the privacy of the location is an added bonus. We all had plenty of space to congregate and also to be off on our own. The owner is helpful and responsive but did not in any way intrude on our stay. We would certainly return when we make it to Martha’s Vineyard in the future.

We cant say enough good things about this home. ........and our family time there.

We had 4 grandkids under 2 and that was somewhat difficult as home and yard is very big and not really young children friendly but, it works. families with kids over 5.. we will return

Consistently the best

The house is a delight, with everything you need and then some. My extended family of 6 adults and 2 children were all well situated, with private space, common space and outdoor space for each. This is truly a luxury home, with all of the bells and whistles you don't even know to expect, all there for you to enjoy.

Better than the house is the owner, who is more responsive than any owner I can imagine. For example, I asked where on the island I could buy a propane tank when the bbq grill needed a refill; his response was to bring a full tank within hours. My guests were shocked. But as this was my fifth time back for our annual summer vacation, I was just thankful that the high standard he'd set was once again being met.

If I'm renting on Martha's Vineyard, I'm renting this house. It's that amazing for us.

Beautiful, secluded vacation home

We stayed here for the first time this July to August 2017 and we were totally impressed. We had selected the home because it had all the features we were looking for and it had a ton of impressive reviews. The reviews were well-founded.

The owner, Darren, met us when we first arrived and he showed us around and answered any questions we had but then let us be after that. But, he could be quickly reached if there was anything we needed or if we had any questions. The house itself was stunning, even nicer than the photos captured. It was very roomy yet felt very warm and comfortable. Finishes were high-end and all the appliances were modern and in good working order. There was a problem with a part on the outdoor grill after the previous guests checked out and Darren immediately had an entirely new grill put in!

The location is very secluded, with a large yet very private yard. It is on a small, private road and then up a long driveway so you cannot see any other houses from the property. Yet, it is only a short 10-minute drive to downtown Vineyard Haven and is also centrally located and easy to get around the entire island from there. It is a great location to be based on MV.

We would not hesitate to stay again or to recommend the house to others.

Incredible House & Grounds

You have to see this property to believe it. We have been vacationing in MV for many years at different properties and this one tops them all. The house itself it extremely spacious allowing all guest to spread out and never feel crowded. It is up to date with the latest technology and so much to do we spent many days on the property just enjoying ourselves. The exterior landscaping, flowers and plantings are impeccable and the privacy of the property makes you feel like there is no one around for miles. The owner is more attentive than any owner we have ever dealt with checking in via text a few times during the week just to make sure all was ok and always asking if we needed anything and insuring that our stay was up to his own high expectations. I highly recommend this house for larger groups, families with children and anyone looking for a vacation house you won't forget. We've stayed here 3 years in a row and already have our plans booked for 2018. Your stay in MV will be one to remember if you stay in this house!!!!
