Terrific neighborhood and location in a secure building. Very comfortable apartment for 2 people. The space has wonderful light and is modern in decor and feel. We had prompt responses from the owner with regard to renting and no issues during our stay. There is construction finishing up on a neighboring building (this seems to be occurring city wide), otherwise it was exactly the quiet get-away in a bustling city we had in mind. We loved the cozy, curtained sleeping nook! There was easy to find nearby dining, boutique shopping, bottle shops and groceries as well as quick access to the metro and bus lines. The main common areas were undergoing updates while we were there as well and starting to look nice by the time our stay ended. We would love to return - we would recommend this apartment.
The apartment is quite unique and in a great neighborhood, very cool entrance and tucked away through two courtyards. We greatly enjoyed our stay.
This apartment is gorgeous! My boyfriend and I stayed here for four days and we loved it. We thought the glass roof and the lighting in the apartment made it very unique. It was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed during our stay in Paris. It was amazing to come back to this apartment and enjoy wine on our own private patio.
La Marais is a very beautiful neighborhood with plenty of coffee spots, restaurants, and shops all within a 5 minute walk to the apartment. We found all the tourist attractions we wanted to get to were also a very close walking distance.
Jessica was a great host! She is very quick to respond to all communications and even let us drop our bags off super early in the morning since we arrived on a 6:30am flight.
I highly recommend this place for your next trip to Paris.
My husband and I stayed at this property for five nights in August and September and it was absolutely perfect for us.
The owner, Jessica, provided us with clear instructions on how to find the apartment and was there to meet us and show us around.
The apartment was in the perfect location for us as we were very much looking forward to wandering around the Marais and going to local restaurants and cafes. We were also able to easily venture further afield thanks to the close by Metro stations.
The apartment was well maintained and contained all the advertised amenities, I am more than happy to recommend it.
We had a lovely stay in Jessica's apartment in the Marais. The wall of windows and private garden space made us feel like we were in a oasis in the city - which was just what we wanted. There were 4 of us (parents and 2 teens) and while it was cozy (1 kid on a mattress on the floor), it was perfect for us.
Jessica was gone so the housekeeper got us oriented which worked pretty well, although apparently we didn't get the full run down on locking all the doors but the neighbors were nice to let us know what we needed to do. We shared the experience of prior guests of taking a minor stair injury at the start, but quickly gaining expertise with them. But we are glad we don't have them in our house. I doubt for my mother they would be easy to navigate however.
We enjoyed using the Velib bike program - there is a set of bikes just around the corner as a fun and fast way to navigate the city.
Our only suggestion would be a slight set of touch-ups. The apartment is getting a bit worn from a few years of guests - a fresh coast of paint would easily restore it to the pristine nature of the photos.
We really enjoyed the loft apartment - it was perfect for two of us for 4 days. Tucked away in a second courtyard, it was quiet and quaint. Property was clean, everything was functional, so there were no issues of that sort. Jessica was very easy to work with and responsive.
Location is great - convenient to a number of metro stops, also in the thick of the Marais so you can easily get to good restaurants, shopping, etc. We loved Breizh Cafe down the street!
Definitely would recommend - and if we were returning to Paris anytime soon, I would book again. I thought it was good value for the price, especially compared to Paris hotels.
A few things for renters to note (just as FYI):
Definitely enough space for two people, but I'm not sure I'd try for any more than that. I'm not sure where you'd put everything for up to 4 people, and you really only have the sofa and the chairs from the kitchen table for seating on the main floor.
The sleeping area in the loft is a bit tight. It's a Queen-sized bed, but know you need to duck to get in/out and then the inside sleeper (if you have two) has to climb over the other person to get out.
The steps are a bit awkward - as the pictures show it's one step per foot - so navigating can be tricky (especially going down to the bathroom at night and/or if you've had something to drink).
The ceiling is all glass as is the wall... which makes it feel open and airy (the wall opens up too), but not necessarily private (not that I think anyone could really see in, but there are other buildings around with windows).
The bath is a bit tight (from an American perspective), but certainly more than adequate.
The outdoor space is a great bonus (though we had rainy weather and were unable to use it to its full potential).
Our incredibly charming duplex loft is ideally located in the best part of the trendy Marais district in Paris, just steps away from the Marché des Enfants Rouges, the Centre Pompidou, the Picasso Museum (reopening Summer 2013), galleries, restaurants and shops. You can walk to the river Seine and the Place des Vosges. We're also in the heart of the Paris fashion week area where several times a year the art galleries are transformed into fashion showrooms. The nearest metro stations at about equal distance are St Sébastien Froissart (line 8) and Rambuteau (line 11). It's a 10 minute walk to République (lines 3, 5, 8, 9 and 11) and to Hôtel de Ville (lines 1 and 11). The 29 bus is a block away and the 96 (that takes you directly to the Luxemburg garden and to Odéon is a 7 minute walk away.
