About Charlotte Perry

My business is LUXbnb, we offer short-stay properties in wonderful neighborhoods in Northwest Washington including those areas in high demand by visitors, i.e. DuPont Circle, Georgetown, Palisades and Capitol Hill. You can view some of our other studios and homes for stays from 4 nights up to 8 months; see HomeAway # 914007, 3495967, 3495973, 3495995, 3495973, 3496279, 3496282, 3496283 and 3496278 for details. Let us know your travel plans and we will find the best fit for your needs. Be generous and share the knowledge of LUXbnb, your source for short-stay rentals in Washington, with your friends, family and colleagues.

Our latest addition are vacation properties for Washingtonians. See the Washington Vacations section on our website for homes in the nearby mountains. Take a few days away from the bustle of the city to explore our bucolic countryside little changed over the past 2 to 3 centuries. Visit wineries and orchards, significant Civil War battlefields and historic towns, hike the Appalachian Trail or follow in the footsteps of our founding fathers by visiting their homes. There is plenty to do that beckons you to leave the city for a weekend or a week.

A bit about me...I am a former Californian who, after 12 years in DC, is now an honorary Washington native. Being well traveled both domestically and internationally has given me a great appreciation for the enrichment contact with others brings to our experience. I am well-versed on the 'must-see' sights, monuments and museums of our culturally rich city, along with the unique experiences your find only in Washington. We share that insight with our guests in our property Welcome Guides which we send upon confirmation.

We very much enjoy hosting visitors to our Nation's Capital and ensuring that they are able to make the most of their visit.

Can't wait to return . Suite and area perfect

  • 5 of 5

Lovely suite. Very clean. Bed and bedding very comfortable. Large shower with rain shower. Would have been enough height for my 6'4" husband! Lots of room and hangers in the private laundry room. Fridge, cooktop, microwave for leftovers from our meals. Management respond very quickly. Check in and check out seamless. We paid extra $10 for parking and this made it very convenient. We had a Nissan Altima and there was room even though tight. You would not want a bigger vehicle. The area is very safe day and night. The apartment is quiet and secure. Walk to restaurants, Starbucks, UPS store. Sunday morning Farmers Market was really pleasant with plenty of parking at Safeway grocery store. Easy access to DC area. There are steps whether you pay for parking or park on street. I would recommend this suite to anyone and I can't wait for my next trip.

There is a larger suite on property but I did not see it. I imagine it's just as lovely.

Reviewer Comments:

This was a great way to spend our vacation. The Sanctuary is a small but homey room with Washer and Dryer available. Close to a gas station restaurants and Starbucks. Very affordable and close to National mall. Perfect little retreat for me and my husband. There is a rental above this one so you can hear the neighbors a bit which was the only downfall.

Reviewer Comments:

This place was wonderful and exactly like the Ad described. No surprises. Just a small quite studio perfect for 1 or 2 people. The kitchen was perfect for making small breakfast and meals. The location of the house is in a quite upper class area of DC. Easy access to freeways and the National Mall. I cant give this place a high enough rating. The landlord is customer oriented and will do everything he can to make sure your stay pleasant.

Reviewer Comments:

We loved staying at The Sanctuary. The space itself is perfect for a couple. The bed is a Murphy (folds up) and you have a kitchenette (stove top, mini fridge, toaster, microwave) so it is perfect for preparing snacks or light meals. The apartment was clean when we arrived. The washer and dryer is a awesome bonus. If you plan on being out most of the day, this place is perfect. And honestly, DC has so much stuff for you to do and see, if you are inside all day something is wrong! We were pretty amazed with this little apartment given that you are so close to downtown. We took the D6 bus across the street and were in Georgetown in about 10 minutes. We were in DuPont in about 15 minutes. We would go out all day, then catch the bus back from DuPont ( a couple of times we used Uber). Considering the hotels downtown were close to 299$ a night we could not believe our good fortune when we found this place. We liked the neighborhood too. It is a bit sleepy but honestly it seems like the kind of place you would want to live. It has some cool restaurants. It is not dense with shops and pubs like DuPont or Capitol Hill - but you may not necessarily want that at the end of the day. We went out for number of early evening strolls and stopped at a Belgian restaurant and had a glass of wine. All in all we loved the placed. Staying this way (apartment rental) in a neighborhood with nothing but the welcome guide and a map was a cool, unique way to experience the city. My wife and I really thought this was a great little getaway. It was private and affordable so we were able to save a bit of money and then splurge on a few other things :) If you are coming to DC and want to be in the city, but outside the noise and chaos, this is a great little spot on MacArthur Blvd. LUXbnb and Matthias were very helpful and gave us the tools to prepare and plan our stay, but stayed out of our way.

Matthias was very friendly and accommodating! We had small children in our group that couldn't accompany us to our conference on the day of our checkout. He worked with us on a late check out. I noticed a couple of spiders. However, I didnt bring it to his attention; as I noticed bug spray under the porch - I knew he was already working on getting rid of the spiders. No big deal as that is something that we all get inside of our homes from time to time. The point is that he was already ON IT! I would like to suggest some bleach for washing towels, etc. Again, no big deal, as we were able to purchase some less than four blocks away at the Safeway grocery store.
