Your apartment suite occupies the second floor of the Guest House on our 80-acre farm. Sited across from the primary residence, you have 1-1/2 private baths, a queen bedroom, kitchen, and open-concept dining and living room and private deck, which all overlook the farm, barn, and fields. A trundle daybed is included in the second seating area of the living room, providing two full-size twin mattresses for a third and fourth guest, as needed.
We include a continental breakfast and basic cooking supplies and amenities in the kitchen, including a coffee maker and fresh tea and coffee. We also provide farm-fresh eggs you can collect yourselves from the nearby chicken coop or, if you'd prefer, we're happy to collect your organic eggs for you from our free-ranging chickens. Enjoy cooking in your private kitchen while overlooking the pastoral views. Then plan your day for any of a number of possible adventures in the Greater Portland area. We provide lots of suggestions and ideas to help you maximize your stay.

We have capitalized on Peter's years of experience as an innkeeper in New England and our shared love of travel to bring you a warm cottage experience in a quintessentially American setting, a Maine farm. With the comforts and conveniences of home, and access to a greater range of activities than you can even do combine to give you a vacation experience that you’ll treasure for years to come.
Moment's Peace Farm is that rare property where every visitor greets us at the door saying, 'What a beautiful setting.' It just has that New England charm, not the least owing to the beautiful restored 19th Century barn that greets you among the rolling hills as you enter the property. There is a lovely pond a leisurely stroll through the fields, beautiful woods, farm pastures, an organic garden, free-ranging chickens, and even a friendly Samoyed to greet you when you arrive. Relax and restore in your private suite, or nestle in with a good book on your private back deck, keeping one eye out for visiting wildlife. Then pop into Portland for the day to take in the museums or visit Casco Bay or the surrounding beaches. You can explore all you'd like, then enjoy a moment's peace at the end of the day.

One of our cottage guest's reviews: "The owners, Joy and Peter, were very responsive, though our contact with them was minimal because the cottage provided everything we needed. My only regret is that I didn't book the entire week... but we'll be back."
This property was exactly as described. The owners are right across the way to help if you need anything, but very respectful of your privacy. We are a family of four and had plenty of space. The property is expansive and beautiful. My favorite place was the back porch looking out over a tree-backed pasture. Perfect place to have a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine after dinner. We went shopping and hiking in Freeport and caught a Portland Sea Dogs game...all within 45 minutes or less from the property. We look forward to being able to return for another long weekend.
This is the best apartment we had on our trip through Canada and US. It is spacious and very comfortable and located on a beautiful, quite farm about a half an hour drive from Portland. The kitchen and the whole apartment is very well equiped with everything you need. We really appreciated the pool towels and the washing/drying machine. On the farm you find a very nice and well kept pool, chickens and horses. The owners are very nice and helpful.
This is an excellent place to vistit Portland and midcoast Maine. We can definitly
recommend the apartment.
One can use a nice pool and the the owners offered fresh eggs from their chickens.
We just returned from a great stay at Moment's Peace right before the July 4th weekend. The location is off the beaten path, but close enough to town. A car is a must-have if you want to do any activities or get groceries. Nearest grocery store is a 10 minute drive, but has everything! the animals - dogs, horses, chickens are adorable and we loved picking the farm fresh eggs to make for breakfast. The apartment is well equipped with everything one can need. The bed is a little small for two people, but still comfortable. They do have a trundle bed in the living room. The bathroom is big and the upstairs bathroom is convenient. The deck and grill are SUCH a nice touch. We had a lovely bbq the first night. Joy and Peter and their daughter were very sweet. They live on the property. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to anyone.
We had a lovely stay in this quaint cottage. Most of our time was spent on the back deck, enjoying the relaxing atmosphere, the beautiful view, and the grill. All of the animals are so beautiful and friendly, especially the dogs. Joy is super nice and accommodating, and we look forward to our next stay at this lovely farm.
A quaint little guest house on a lovely farm. It was perfect for us, well equipped kitchen, washer and dryer and plenty of space. Well located in an idyllic, pastoral area outside of portland. Not to far if you want to visit Kennebunkport or Portland but quiet and away from it all. My son loved the owner's dog and their chickens! We had a couple dinners that we made with produce from their garden and eggs from the hens. Highly recommend!
I can’t say enough about how wonderful our stay was! I’ll start by saying there were 6 of us (2 parents and 4 children - under 8 years old) who stayed here. I was concerned about space, but we were very comfortable and cozy. The house was extremely clean and lacked nothing! Joy and Peter were very accommodating to us and our every need was met! The house is in a beautiful country setting, my only wish is that we could have had more time to relax and enjoy it, but the Portland area has so much to offer that we actually spent most of our time sightseeing and with family. I’ll leave by saying that I am very picky about where I stay, and this place is amazing!
Thanks, Joy & Peter!
