About Brian L.

HI, our family bought this cabin in 2012 and spent 8 months remodeling the family cabin. Unfortunately we do not get to spend every weekend at the cabin so we have to decided to share this wonderful home with others looking to get to the high country.

Brian L. purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Brian L. chose Arizona

We chose this property because of the location. We can leave phoenix and be at the cabin in just under 2 hours. Summer time weather never gets above 89 degrees and the winter is guaranteed for snow fall. Pine trees abound the property and plenty of lakes nearby.

What makes this cabin unique

7200 elevation, 1 acre, pine trees, lakes.

Guestbook comments from the owner

LOVE the new cooktop and window covering on back door - so the bears can't see in after dark - LOL!

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

My grandfather had a masonry business for 30+ years and my father worked for him his whole employment life. They built this cabin 40+ years ago. We spent many weekends there growing up. The family sold it maybe 15 years ago now. It was perfect for us to come and experience it again. The remodel was excellent. We lost my father in December and this was the perfect way to celebrate him, reminisce, and take his ashes up to the rim at Woods Canyon Lake.

So it was a very special experience to start with exclusive to my family. Let me see if there is anything I can add that could help others! :)

Communication has been great. Very clear and thorough. Everything was very clean and all furnishings were in great condition. The flexible check in time was excellent. Allowing people to use the whole day of arrival is an absolute benefit that not all properties offer. Allowing a 3pm check out time is also well above and beyond. My small kids loved the tree swing.

Our whole experience renting, communicating, and enjoying the property was perfect! I would definitely rent this cabin again.

A wonderful home away from home

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed this house for five weeks. It was a great place to get away from the heat. It is totally furnished. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. I loved the showers and the towels were nice and fluffy. The beds were really comfortable. The pillows were foam which we don't care for but we always take our own when we travel so that wasn't an issue. It was mainly just the two of us for most of the time but there was room for the family to come up and celebrate Papa's birthday and for some friends to drop by for a visit. There were plenty of trails to go walking on and our dog loved the small pond that is about 2 miles away. The laundry room was a great place to put our dog's crate and provided her with what she thought was a safe spot during the many thunder storms we had. We were glad that we took several lanterns with us because after one storm the electricity was out for 10 hours. We missed having wifi but the library was close by and we could use theirs when necessary. The front porch was a great place to sit in the mornings and on rainy afternoons and the back patio was nice in the afternoons when it wasn't raining. The backyard is fenced but part of it is a very low fence and the gates are easily dislodged when a dog gets frightened because of the thunder. (we have a whimpy dog but handled it) The direct TV kept us up to date and the DVD player gave us a chance to catch up on some movies though we spent more time reading, playing games and walking. The owner was very response when we had questions or concerns. I would definitely recommend this place. The only draw back is that it is on a main road and on weekends it is really busy and really dusty if it doesn't rain.

Great getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Rented the cabin for a 4 day weekend to spend time with the kids and grand kids.

Large open kitchen with island and plenty of room for ‘too many cooks’ to be in the kitchen at once. Large refrigerator allowed us plenty of space for our meals.

There are two flat screen TVs in the family room, one for Blu-ray and DVDs and the other for DirecTV. These TVs are cleverly mounted so that they can be viewed from the sides of the family room or pulled to the front of the fireplace in the family room for everyone to watch. We made good use of the many spaces which included a fire pit area in the front and a large deck to eat on in the back. Also gas grill was used to cook several meals. There was a swing in the front for the kids and backyard was fenced which was convenient. Comfortable leather couches in family room and a separate dining area. Seven bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. The cabin could easily fit 4 families. Plenty of space for all!! Highly recommend it.

This is our 4th or 5th say. Great location. Beautiful house

  • 4 of 5

This has been our favorite summer escape for the past 3 years. Each time we've had a great time. We will continue to rent it again.

This would be a 5 star rating except for two minor issues: only two of the 5 stove top burners sorted worked and the rest did I not work at all. The Owner had promised me that it will be replaced next time we rent it. A couple fell off the bed on the first night upstair as the mattress fell off the frame. It took my friends half an hour to fix it. Otherwise everything is fine
