Overview

About the property

Bedrooms: 3, Bathrooms: 2, Sleeps: 6

After being in private hands for over 30 years, we've recently bought this beautiful house for our family and hopefully yours too. We hope you find it as wonderful as us and appreciate the superb location, beautiful furniture and attention to details- this is a very unique property.

Located 2 miles from the center of Schull and just 3 miles from Ballydehob with Cork airport an hour's drive away, this cottage is ideally located.

The property is a traditional country cottage which has had a number of beautiful extensions added to it over the years combining the old with the new yet retaining the character of the old and enjoying the comforts of the new.

The entrance is built with traditional local stone leading in to a beautifully stocked pond with waterfall and a lovely south facing slate finished patio. The garden has a lovely flow to it with different natural levels laid out in a combination of lawn, a huge variety of shrubs, plants hedging nature trees and an additional south west facing patio area on the eastern side, perfect for relaxed summer evening BBQ and open-air dining.

The stone cottage consists of a large south facing conservatory, beautiful living room, fully fitted kitchen, dining room with access to west facing patio area, utility room / pantry, bathroom and a large ground floor master bedroom with stunning views and custom fireplaces. The 1st floor has 2 further bedrooms and a brand new bathroom.

Perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful house in a beautiful part of the country. Beds were very comfortable. Easily accommodates 4 adults and kids. Amenities were spot on. A great place to rest, unwind, hike, and explore the little towns and Ring of Kerry. Would love to stay again.

Beautiful retreat short drive from Schull

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for 2 weeks in August... the house itself is beautiful and of a standard that not many manage to achieve with Rentals. Every space in the house works and it instills peace and relaxation. the drive to schull is short and pleasant. The house is extremely well equipped, the owner is very responsive and the beds are very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again and would 100% recommend it.

Cozy, comfortable, clean home

  • 5 of 5

Thoroughly lovely, elegant, home that was truly a privilege to reside in for a week. Really difficult to leave. Peaceful, quiet, well located in Schull with easy access to the south coast of Ireland from Cork to Ring of Kerry. Schull a lovely town, people felt like old friends, food phenomenal. Sarah and Andrew I can't thank you enough. So, thank you!

Perfect cotttage in the perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

Just came home from a wonderful week at this cottage and can not say enough about the quality of the cottage and the pristine condition it is in. The location is the perfect mix of tranquility and convenience being just a short drive to the lovely little town of Schull! Everything is of high quality in the cottage and it is easily the most well run property I have ever rented. There is nothing I would change about the cottage and I believe it would be hard to find another cottage in that area that could beat it.

Comfortable characterful house with lovely garden

  • 4 of 5

We had an enjoyable stay, it is a comfortable house with country furnishings in a very quiet location. Not too far from Schull, we even walked it one morning.

Luckily our weather was good for the week, but if it was wet then there are plenty of places to sit and read a book or play a game or watch TV

We would suggest more glassware and the master bedroom looks a bit tired

Owner's Response: thank you for your kind words regarding your recent stay, we're delighted you had a good time and enjoyed all that the house and surrounding area has to offer. The house was completely painted/decorated inside and out just 9 months ago. We strive to furnish the house with beautiful pieces that match the style and age of the property and are disappointed that you feel the master bedroom felt tired. We will take a look at the glassware inventory and re-stock if we're missing any items.
