Perfect getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We booked the cabin for a surprise family get together for my dad's birthday. We had 6 adults and 2 teenagers and had plenty of comfortable beds. The kitchen was very well stocked ~ you only need to bring food. There were plenty of dishes, utensils and cooking gear. Everything was in excellent working order, it was clean and the towels were fluffy. Some of us enjoy a run in the morning and we were able to get in several miles along the gravel roads with minimal traffic. We felt safe and secluded but were within minutes from Duluth. We spent an afternoon hiking around Gooseberry Falls, which we would highly recommend. My kids had a great time on the trails and rocks and my family enjoyed an easy hike. Communication with the owner was prompt and clear. The only "negative" was the cleaning requirement before we left but we knew of the requirement ahead of time, there were plenty of supplies, we all pitched in and it didn't take long. We will definitely look into renting this cabin again for our next trip. Thank you!

October stay

  • 5 of 5

We all enjoyed our stay. Some remodeling going on but it did not interfere with the main house. What happened to the Atari :) We would definitely stay again and recommend it to others. Mike was vary easy to work with. Thanks!

Amazing property in an amazing location

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed at this property while in town for my sister's wedding. The cabin is spacious and was able to accommodate a crowd of visitors. The bedrooms were spacious and spread out enough that everyone was able to have a nice amount of privacy. The property is pretty secluded and is down a few gravel roads but it was easy to get to everything we needed in about 10-15 minutes. The fire pit was great and the gas fireplace inside was great a couple chilly September mornings. When we travel back to Duluth this spring this will be the first place we check!

Wonderful place to stay.

  • 5 of 5

We booked this house for a family trip of 10 people. Had room for everyone to sleep comfortable. House was big and very beautiful inside and out. We enjoyed cooking outside and having a fire at night. This was our first time here and we will rent here again.

Great for larger gathering

  • 4 of 5

We stayed for a family pre-wedding gathering. There were more than enough beds. It isn't really a luxury place, a bit dated and rough around the edges here and there, but it was comfortable, (except for no air conditioning but window fans worked just fine) and just what we were looking for. The property is private but close to Duluth and all it has to offer.

We were asked to clean at departure, which is often the case, but the cleaning supplies were a bit worse for wear. I taped the broom together so I could sweep and there were no replacement garbage bags. The cupboards are full, but could use a good cleaning and purging. There were multiples of some things and other things lacking. We didn't do much cooking, so it all worked out.

The bedrooms and bathrooms were plenty big enough and clean. We used washcloths as hand towels upstairs since I couldn't find any hand towels, again, a minor issue.
