About Gail and David Wailes
David has loved Lake Chelan since he was a young boy, visiting his Aunt an Uncle's cabin up on the Little Butte. He is a builder and bought the Lake house in 2007 with the hope of building the property into an even more grand and lovely place, and at the same time enjoying it while living there. He continues to work his magic and is always making some part of the property more beautiful. In 2008 Gail came along and ever since we have been going back and forth from Redmond WA. where we married in Aug. of 2010. Every season has it's loveliness and we are there as much as possible. We love to take our boat out in the summer months for excursions to Chelan, Wapato or Manson and especially for a cocktail cruise just before sunset. We enjoy walking our dog Sasha up to Fields Point Landing and always meet other dog walkers along the way. We hope that like us you enjoy all that Lake Chelan has to offer and you want to keep coming back too. Thank you David and Gail Wailes

Spacious house with waterfront access
We got this property for a group golf trip. There was plenty of room for everybody to sleep and it was just close enough (around 20-25 minutes) to the municipal golf course. After our golf outing we came back and enjoyed the dock and some time in the water. The dock had a diving board which made the time in the water even better. For large groups I highly recommend this property.
Annual Framily Labor Day
This house was awesome for the most part. I read the reviews before arriving which were helpful. The two upstairs bedrooms get ridiculously hot as stated in other reviews. We brought our fan but it didnt help much. The view is amazing and the location on the lake (away from most) was awesome. The kids loved the diving board the and the large floating mat! It was a kids water paradise.
On our first night we had an interaction with the neighbor but we didnt allow that to ruin any of our time.
The house is amazing and well supplied. Definitely worth it.
Fun and relaxing time at the lake
The house worked great for our trip. The decks were perfect for relaxing and meals. The dock and diving board were well used. I was pleasantly surprised by the lack of development on the opposite side of the lake. That made for a nice view day and night.
I only have a couple minor complaints. The bedrooms upstairs get hot and arranging the fans to move cool air from the A/C in the kitchen only gets you so far. The cook top in the kitchen did not heat evenly or predictably. The ice maker didn’t work, but would dispense store bought cubes. Also it would be nice if they would add Wifi.
Overall we had a wonderful time. The Wailes were good hosts and great to work with. We would definitely rent this house again for vacation.
Room for improvement
The owners live next door. They have a very nice dog But it's their dog and a barking dog on the property we rent was a bit much. The house had some things (like the ice maker) they new were broken and didn't fix.DON'T rent this place if you bring your own boat. They say in the rental agreement that you have to put your boat on the buoy each night.(their is a dock but the waves from the boats and wind beat the crap out of your boat. It's a wooden dock with no bumpers. The buoy is a keg without rubber on it and it beat the hell out of our boat.It will have to be repainted..BIG BUCKS.The owners were nice and the house and the dock(diving board ) were well used.Lots of fun for all.....
David and Gail were excellent hosts. The view was beautiful, the accommodations met our needs for a large family and the grand kids just loved the water. The only suggestion we have to make it better for guests is to have an A/C unit downstairs and blinds on the west windows to cut down on the morning solar gain.
Great family get away!
We had a wonderful and relaxing time at this lakeshore property. It is a few miles out of town, which frankly, was a draw for us. We enjoyed the beautiful view, quiet neighborhood, lazing on the dock and floating in the water. We rented paddleboards, kayaks, and a boat for a day and still found time to check out a couple wineries. The owners are a pleasure to work with, and made sure our time was nothing less than fabulous. Thanks so much, David and Gail.
