About Bob and Erin McGovern

Bob and Erin purchased Brookside in 2012. They were impressed with the properties privacy, the amazing mountain views, the enormous lawn, the brook-which the kids love exploring in the summer, the golf course frontage and the firepit situated alongside the aptly named "Roaring Brook". They feel the brooks babbling song is so relaxing, and also provides many fun hours of fishing, and exploring for the kids. The house is perfect for family reunions and vacations with friends. We hope you love it as much as we have!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Brookside is awesome, car port used all weekend with the crazy snow, and jacuzzi is wonderful. The snow shoes were used, as was almost every bed, pan, and plate. Your kitchen is perfectly stocked. Thanks for fitting us in a day early and for accommodating the scheduling of President's Weekend. We couldn't have picked a more perfect location from the mountain and the shops.

Thank You,

Brookside - Spectacular 4-Season Mountain Views and Golf Course Frontage!

Amazing home and property! Incredible view, impeccably clean, spacious and comfortable.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Brookside for 5 days over the 4th of July while our son was in a golf tournament in Killington. During the 5 days, there were anywhere from 3 to 10 of us there including 2 young children. All the pictures and previous reviews are accurate. The beds were comfortable as was everything about the home. My sister-in-law and her husband and 2 children slept on the first level which was like having their own apartment - kitchen area with table, living area with tv, 2 bedrooms with 5 beds, and a bathroom with shower. Every bathroom had a shower so we all felt like we had our own space. The grounds were amazing as well; we enjoyed sitting by the fire, searching for golf balls in the brook, playing yard games and watching the golfers. Heidi, the caretaker couldn't have been more responsive. She keeps the place so clean and immediately answered any questions we had. The water cooler was a nice addition since we had a heat wave while we were there. We didn't get to enjoy the new hot tub because it really was just too warm while we were there. We had a nice 4th of July cookout at the house but also ate at a couple very good nearby restaurants - the Foundry and Casey's Caboose. We enjoyed kayaking and swimming at the Plymouth State Park (about 30 minutes away), took the Gondola up Killington and had lunch at the Peak Lodge and also took the kids to the Killington - Pico Adventure Center. I would absolutely recommend Brookside and hope to return again, either in the winter or again in the warmer weather to do some of the activities we didn't get to this time. Thank you Erin and Bob for sharing this beautiful home (like a resort itself) with us.

Great weekend!!

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing weekend at Brookside despite the mediocre snow conditions at Killington . The home was fantastic! Spacious, clean, well appointed and stocked. The hot tub was great and we even made use of the fire pit. But, overall, we spent most of our time in the large kitchen/dining area. We made a fantastic communal dinner for 10 and had plenty of space and supplies to pull it off without a hitch. We even re-enacted a few "Big Chill" moments as we danced to Motown cleaning up after dinner.

Bookside is a great property. Thanks Bob and Erin for sharing!

Amazing Property Close To Mountain

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic house which fit 10 people comfortably with all the amenities one would want for a ski trip. Hosts were very helpful when one of the gas fireplaces wouldn't light and came out to help relight the pilot. Overall a great find!

My family, friends and I had a wonderful stay at this house. The kids had a lot of fun playing Monopoly and Poker. The kitchen had everything we needed. This house is located in a very good spot, it is close to the Killington ski resort. It only takes a few minutes to get there, it is also close to the place where I rented my skis. The house is also very big so it is easy for kids to play around and nobody will get hurt. I also really enjoyed the glorious view outside. I also like how the bed is memory foam,it is very comfortable. Finally, the hot tub is very, very hot and comfy I really enjoyed it. Everything is very well designed, I really enjoyed living in this vacation house!:) The owner is very nice and friendly. Always response very quickly. Highly recommended to everyone.

Perfect for a our family reunion...

  • 5 of 5

Brookside was amazing on hole 4 of Killington Golf Course... we loved sharing memories around the fire pit with family we hadn't seen in 9 plus years... soooo much room for everyone to sleep comfortably, very comfortably, with plenty of private space for everybody! The large open kitchen was perfect for anyone that wanted to join in the cooking and the outdoor BBQ was an added bonus for 4th of July festivities.. next to the Roaring Brook itself, the huge backyard was just wonderful.. we brought our own badminton, bocce and frisbees...plenty of yard to play them all at the same time.. oh yeah and the youngins collected over shot golf balls from the brook as well!! With family coming from Canada, New Jersey and Vermont , we will definitely be making this our gathering spot in the future. Thank you for sharing your lovely home!!
