I took and early retirement from American Express Travel Service several years ago where I was a Global Director for Business Travel. Just prior to my retirement I had the opportunity to visit Anna Maria Island and immediately fell in love with its pristine beaches and old Florida charm. I purchased my first one bedroom condo and subsequently purchased 3 other condos all at Runaway Bay. I pride myself in taking personal attention to the furnishings and amenities in my condos. I currently co own a meeting planning business, so I continue to be involved in many facets of the hospitality business. Throughout my career I have traveled all over the world and I have high exceptions of the accommodations that I stay in. I have these same expectations for all of my condos. All mattresses are changed every 3 years and new mattresses replaced on 12/14/2019. Additionally the beds have adjustable bases which allows you to adjust the bed to your comfort level. I was on the Board of Directors of Runaway Bay for 10 years until November 2016. Most importantly I personally own and manage my units and it is not handled by an impersonal management company.

What makes this Condo unique
This is the only true resort on Anna Maria Island. The complex sits between the Gulf of Mexico and the Bay of Sarasota on the narrowest part of the island. The 13 acres are full of amenities and lush landscaping.

Guests are subject to $500 fine and eviction for occupancy of more than 4 guests in the apartment. Reccomend purchase trip cancellation insurance

Great location, close enough to walk to restaurants and shops but just far enough away from the main road for silence when you want it. Very nice condo and pool, extremely clean and comfortable unit. Thanks Michael, we’ll be back!
Cell phones and Wi-Fi
Fabulous condo unit and would return ... the only challenge we had was very poor cell service ... AT+T ... the internet connection was very good at the unit.
Thanks Dale glad you enjoyed the apartment and your stay on Anna Maria. I do know the island has a Verizon Tower and the service is great with them. Also the condo as you experienced had Spectrum so wifi is very strong and reliable.

What a lovely vacation!
We had a wonderful stay in Unit 176. What a cozy, welcoming environment! And spotlessly clean! The condo is just a nice size, my sister and I were very comfortable, but I can see that four people would not be at all crowded. Parking was conveniently just outside the door and it was easy to bring luggage in. A coded entry meant no risk of misplacing keys. As we were arriving late we asked for a light to be left on and this was considerately done for us. The modern granite kitchen was “neat and complete”, with everything one could need, including a large fridge with ice maker. The cupboards held plenty of cookware, dishes, glasses and all utensils. We didn’t cook much...but we could have...as there were also spices, oils and other condiments. The dining/living areas are charmingly decorated with a seaside theme and cool blues. Lots of comfortable seating. The lanai has seating for 2 overlooking a water feature with fountains providing a soothing background sound. We used this a lot for relaxed meals. The bedrooms are also beautifully decorated, with king size beds, and dreamily comfortable mattresses (lol)! Soft sheets and pillows made it hard to get up early! The closets are spacious with lots of hangers. The bathrooms had very nice showers and towels and lots of storage space. We used the washer and dryer for a few loads, very handy, and noted there are plenty of cleaning supplies available just in case, thankfully we didn’t need them. There are beach toys and other beach things available, however we didn’t use them. The complex itself is resort-like and beautifully maintained, with the mentioned water features attracting beautiful birds, and plenty of flowering plants. It’s very quiet...no partying noises, or even traffic noise. The pool is a good size and very clean. There are lots of comfortable lounge chairs, and washrooms right beside the pool. The condo had lots of pool/beach towels to use. The beach is very close, just the shortest of walks and there is a crosswalk light to make it easier when at times there are more cars. The sand is powdery and white like sugar and after a short walk through the dunes, the beautiful gulf shore is before you. Perfect vacation for us. Main floor accommodation worked well since two in our party used walkers. Having the parking close was a bonus. Thank you so much for letting us stay on your lovely condo.

The condo lead way to a relaxing time on the island. It had more than enough amenities, and it had a warm,cozy feel.
Steps to beach and bay. Runaway Bay has two deeded accesses to the beach which is just across the street. Just added is a secure crosswalk to beach.
