Here you'll find one of the most action-packed locations in the Caribbean, offering golf, tennis, snorkeling, scuba diving, sailing, deep-sea fishing, horseback riding and island excursions. Palmas del Mar's location is one of its greatest assets. The pleasing Caribbean trade winds steadily blow across this section of the island, stabilizing the weather to an average temperature in the 80’s and making Palmas del Mar ideal for many outdoor sports twelve months of the year.

Palmas del Mar is the largest master-planned community in the Caribbean with approximately 2,750 acres of land devoted to a variety of residential, commercial and resort uses. With its combination of primary and secondary homes, lodging facilities and resort amenities, Palmas is the Caribbean's most fully integrated premier destination.

Palmas is located on the southeast coast of Puerto Rico approximately 45 minutes from San Juan, Puerto Rico's capital and largest city. Unique among Puerto Rico residential-resort communities, Palmas has over six miles of Caribbean Sea frontage, including approximately three miles of continuous sand beach. The balance of the water frontage consists of secluded beaches and rocky promontories, offering unparalleled views and settings. In addition, the inland portion of Palmas provides a variety of topographical contours providing for an extensive variety of land use patterns ranging from custom hillside residences to clustered housing developments fronting golf courses or other recreational amenities.

Palmas del Mar is the most complete Resort Community in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean region, offering premier amenities and facilities that satisfy every interest. Palmas del Mar is only 45 minutes from San Juan with two 18-hole championship golf courses. Palmas del Mar Country Club also offers the largest private tennis facility in the Caribbean with 20 courts, including five clay courts, 13 har-tru and two, synthetic grass, Omni Courts.

Outstanding Golf -

We are considered the premier golf destination of the Caribbean, with two ocean-front, par 72 championship courses: the Palm Course designed by Gary Player, and the Flamboyan Course designed by Rees Jones. Layouts of around 6,800 feet (2,040m) each. Scratch golfers consider holes 11 to 15 of the Palm course among the toughest five successive holes in the Caribbean. The pro shop that services both courses is open daily from 6:30am to 6pm. Both courses offer challenges to the most experienced of players as well as breathtaking ocean vistas. To improve your game, the golf professionals are available for private lessons. It also provides ample areas to practice your putting, driving, short game and sand trap shots. Clubs, shoes and carts are available for rental, and a selection of the latest gentlemen’s and ladies’ sportswear and accessories can be found at the Pro Shop.

Outstanding Tennis -

The tennis center is the largest in the Caribbean with 20 clay and hard courts, 7 of which are lighted for night play. Year-round activities include group & private lessons, tennis clinics, doubles round robins, tennis shows, and junior programs. The Pro Shop offers the latest in tennis racket technology and sportswear.

Palmas del Mar Country Club has the largest tennis complex in all the the Caribbean. Its collection of 13 hard, 2 Omni (an artificial grass), and 5 Har-Tru courts (one of the latter a stadium built into the hillside and 7 with lights for night play) occupies a prominent place in the resort, a five-minute walk from most of the condos. At the core of the tennis facility is a full-service pro shop, moderate in size, whose windows overlook an exhibition hard court. To one side is a patio shaded by an overarching banyan tree and anchored by an outdoor bar called the Center Court Bar & Grill, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The second floor of the pro shop holds a small fitness center. It faces a small outdoor swimming pool and is staffed by a full time personal/fitness trainer.

Outstanding Water Activities -

Whether it’s deep-sea fishing, sailing, or scuba diving and snorkeling excursions, several charter captains are ready to embark on your most memorable adventure from the on site deep-water marina. Whichever you choose, prepare to encounter mild sea breezes as well as crystal clear waters, teeming with colorful corals, sea life and game fish. Some of the best year-round fishing in the Caribbean is found in the waters just off Palmas del Mar.

Beach Club for the Kids -

A 16ft tall Water Tower with over 200 feet of slides and a 100 square foot 'water works' play system with a giant spill bucket and several interactive amusement areas.

Recently renewed with several water amenities such as a tower of twisting water slides and an outrageous waterworks pool for the young ones, the centerpiece of the Beach Club is its eclectic 8,000 sq. ft. swimming pool, large enough to accommodate three 25-yard lap swimming lanes, a pool volleyball area, multi-level steps for the young ones and several enclaves for relaxed gatherings. A whirlpool and toddler pool are located at separate ends of the ample sundeck which is dotted by chaise lounges generously attended by roving service personnel. Here you will find a beach volleyball court, the charming 'Pelican's Watch Poolside Bar', and paths which lead to the spectacular beach of crystalline waters.

A tropical bungalow-style pavillion with imposing views of the Caribbean serves as the reception and service facility. Appointed with ample parking for both cars and golf carts, here you will find shower facilities and day-use lockers available to our members, as well as a restaurant offering a choice of dining on the veranda or by the pool.

About Lance & Lisa

We fell in love with Puerto Rico on our first trip! It is just 3 hours, direct flight from the East Coast of the US, and has all the same conveniences as home: language, currency, internet but a distinct culture all its own! It's a tropical paradise (a year-round average of 80 degrees) 12 months of the year! It's beach season all year round! Our first trip to PR was so wonderful that we decided to look for a vacation home there as opposed to the continental US. We traveled all over PR and visited Palmas Del Mar and knew that we'd found our home away from home. Crescent Cove, in Palmas, is paradise to us. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Lance & Lisa purchased this villa in 2006

Why Lance & Lisa chose Puerto Rico

Coming from the colder Northeast US, we wanted warmth and to be able to see and hear the ocean from a vacation property, and be able to swim everytime we vacation. The ocean is always warm and wonderful! So easy to just walk right in!

What makes this villa unique

The sight and sound of the ocean - there's nothing like our view!

Great View from a Great Place

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't have been happier with Crescent Cove #11. The villa is spacious and in good shape, with plenty of beach toys available for fun.

This may be one of the best beach locations in all of Palmas del Mar. The beach had more seaweed than we would have liked, but that's just the breaks with currents, winds and season that is out of anyone's control.

Palmas del Mar is massive. Rent a golf cart and have a great time exploring all over. One of the neatest things is the Pterocarpus Forest. It is free and just a few minutes away by golf cart. It is a fresh water forest that has vegetation that looks like it's out of the Jurassic era. We went at night one time and turned off our lights. You'll feel like you're a million miles away from anywhere.

Nancy, the local person that looks after the property was very helpful. She answered any questions we had in a timely manner. She even met us at the local Beach Club and signed us in as guests of hers so that we could use the Club on a Sunday when the place is restricted to only full-time members.

The fruit basket that was awaiting us when we arrived was a nice touch as well.

If your are interested in visiting Puerto Rico, there may not be a better rental on the island for the money.

Great view but mediocre villa

  • 3 of 5

First, the positives... the Villa is in an excellent location with a great view of the pool and ocean. It was great to soak that in every chance we could. The pool here was gorgeous and incredibly well maintained... only downfall there was it said pool opens at 9 but most days that was really 9:30 or later. Not a huge deal unless your a kid and wake early and want to jump in.

We encountered some issues with the unit having a leak in kitchen, lights out, doors on rooftop not being functional, and it was also extremely dirty. Nancy was amazing and got right on fixing everything and had a couple ladies clean. Sadly, even after that, the unit was still in sad shape. It's extremely outdated, and honestly, dirty. Think pounds of dust on the lamps, toilets that barely have pressure to flush, scraped, dusty, and discolored ceilings and walls. The top floor gutter is also falling off, so when sleeping in the master, you listening to it banging the side of the building all night.

We were also looking forward to spending time on one of two rooftop patios but were unable. Part of the time the door didn't function and then after that, you would literally sit and fry during the day. No umbrellas so it's like sitting on a hot frying pan... then sadly at night, there's no light up there so you would need to sit in dark. In my opinion, not useable space for a young family to enjoy which is a bummer.

Also note if you go Easter weekend, the entire island closes on Good Friday. No shops, restaurants, etc. Also the crowds are insane! Wasn't too bad at the pool (but full) but beaches jammed packed, which made for a lot of noise during the night. Loud kids, golf carts, music, etc.

Made the best of our time and super happy with prompt responses from Nancy.

Owner's Response: We are glad you enjoyed the location of the villa and we are sorry you were not totally pleased. From time to time things happen and we always address things immediately. We hope our guests contact us right away about anything they notice so we can remedy it however we never heard from you that you had any issues until we read your review. We spoke to Nancy about the cleaning and she confirmed you did not contact her about this until 5 days into your vacation. She has a housekeeping checklist to make sure all is cleaned appropriately before guests arrive. Unfortunately since this situation was not addressed immediately, it is hard to provide evidence to housekeepers of the situation. She sent the cleaners back to the villa to clean up during your stay even though it was 5 days after your arrival. You were there more than a week, and we, the owners, never heard from you. Nancy and her cleaners always do a great job preparing the place for our guests. We were there in February and it was spotless and guests since then, prior to you, never mentioned “pounds” of dust. Regarding the lights inside the villa, Nancy sent out an electrician immediately. Our understanding is that it was fixed. There should be a light on the third level balcony. We were not aware that it was out until after you left. Had we (or Nancy) known sooner we would have had it replaced immediately. We appreciate the suggestion of an umbrella for the 3rd level terrace however due to the trade winds, umbrellas that are left open and unattended can get picked up by the wind and blown into the glass doors of the villa, so for this reason we have not put an umbrella on that terrace. The living room terrace is in the shade. Regarding the loose gutter, we have contacted the Crescent Cove administration as the outside of the building is their responsibility. Again, we were not aware of this until we read your review. Had you contacted us right away, we would have had them secure the gutter immediately. The sliding door upstairs probably got knocked off its track and Nancy took care of that for you. Please remember this is our personal villa that we generously offer to guests for their enjoyment at very reasonable rates. We hope our guests appreciate that we keep our rate to a minimum so more people can enjoy it. Once again, we are sorry to hear you weren’t extremely happy with your vacation.

Beautiful location and quiet setting

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the condo the first week in April and had a wonderful vacation. The condo is as described and it had plenty of room for the four of us. We had a few lights that were not working and Nancy was right on top of it and had everything fixed in a few hours. We enjoyed a few of the nice restaurants in the community and loved that everything we needed was only a short drive away. The community felt very safe. We did a snorkeling trip with Captain Matt - Maragata Charters (highly recommend) and hiked in the El Yunque rainforest (bring your rain gear!). We also fished in San Juan with Captain Paco Mendez (with Peacock Bass and Tarpon Tours) and caught tarpon and snook. We also spent a day in Old San Juan and the recommendations in the binder for where to go and where to eat were spot on. We would definitely return!

Great location and views

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this villa from March 25-April 1, 2017. We had 5 people including 3 teenagers. Lisa and Lance were great to work with and very responsive on email. Nancy, the property manager, is very friendly and speaks good English. Overall, the villa itself is very well described on Homeaway. Everything worked fine and the property is in good shape. It does need a little updating, but that is pretty typical for this aged property. The master bedroom is very spacious with double sinks and a king bed, which was great. The bedroom AC worked really well. It was very quiet when we traveled there, so we had no trouble getting chairs by the pool or on the beach, any time of the day. Palmas del Mar is a huge gated community and has ample restaurants. It felt extremely safe there as each villa complex has its own set of gates too. The kids enjoyed renting a golf cart for a day and just driving around on the miles of paved trails. Hiking to La Mina Falls in El Jungue Rainforest was amazing as well as zip lining with Rainforest Zipline right by El Junque, if you are into adventures. The beaches in Puerto Rico are only okay unless you go out to one of the islands. We loved Old San Juan and the forts there. For a family, there are a ton of things to do with active kids, which we really loved. Lance and Lisa have a big binder of things to do and recommendations. We went with Paco for a snorkel adventure to Monkey Island and really enjoyed it. We found him in the binder. Thanks for sharing your villa with us, we would definitely come back there.
