About eli lee

My wife and I live in Bellingham, she is a licensed Massage Therapist, beautiful skier and avid outdoor enthusiast. I am an Alaskan commercial fisher, skier, and enjoy the indoors more so than she. The cabin, for us, is a way to escape the hustle and bustle of the city life (such as Bellingham may be). When we come to Glacier, it is the silence that enthralls us. No traffic, no sirens, no trains, just the wind in the trees, and the gurgle of the creek!

eli lee purchased this house in 2005

Why eli lee chose Mount Baker

The Birdhouse is so ideally situated. Of course Mt. Baker Ski Area is a huge draw for us, but we also love the summers, chalk full of Blueberries, wild flowers, chantrelle mushrooms, awe-inspiring views, the warm winds on cool days and the cool shade in the trees on hot days!

What makes this house unique

For larger parties, or better separation, we also rent THE JIM JACK SHACK vrbo 461023. Located behind the Mt. Baker Birdhouse and up the hill, The Jim Jack Shack is our newest creation. Totally different, equally as cool.

Notes:
The Birdhouse is the best. There is a leather couch, a privacy fence surrounding the deck/hottub area, all the kitchen appliances are practically new, the whole house has been re-modeled, up-cycled and down-sized. It has an eclectic, contemporary cabin feel to it, one that would be hard to duplicate! Located in the gated community of Snowline, The Birdhouse is close to the park and amenities, including but not limited to: Tennis, pool, jungle gym/playground, kid's fishing pond, big grassy area, picnic area with grills, basketball net, pickle-ball, and hiking trails galore. The house itself has quite a few books lying around it, there are some dvds, and the kitchen is up to any task. There is a coffee grinder, tea-kettle and an assortment of mugs for your pleasure. Within a ten minute walk is an outstanding frisbee-golf course, and there is boating galore on the Nooksack for whitewater enthusiasts.

Love the Nest!

  • 5 of 5

We had an enjoyable weekend at the Nest! The cabin is equipped with everything you need and is quite cozy with the wood burning fireplace. It is great if you like to be out in nature yet with a little side of technology as they have equipped the cabin with WiFi and Netflix.

This cabin is great for dogs and has a doggy door that leads out to a fenced deck where the hot tub is also located. Great for privacy! I love the fenced deck, my little dog quickly figured out the doggy door and was going in and out all day. He does not have this option at home so he was very pleased to go outside whenever he wanted.

By far this is my favorite cabin in the Mt. Baker area! I am looking forward to coming back.

Great Cabin, Great Location, Will Return

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at the Birdhouse. Very homey cabin with lots of charm. The owners were quick to respond to all questions. The hot tub, wood stove, everything worked great. It was perfect my girlfriend, myself and our two dogs, with plenty of room to spare. We really enjoyed our experience!

Charming cabin!

  • 4 of 5

This is a great cabin, it has everything you need: hot tub, fireplace, spacious kitchen, a big loft and bedroom. The only down size is that there was 5 of us ladies and only 1 bathroom, with only 1 mirror. The key and code situation wasn't the easiest. Overall though a great place to stay.
