We have many hobbies and Interests, like Horse Back Riding, Motorcycling, Camping, Boating, Snowmobiling, 4 Wheeling, Hiking and have numerous pets and have both been around the Black Hills most of our lives.

Laura Inman purchased this cabin in 2010

Why Laura Inman chose Custer

This was my Fathers Property and we have always enjoyed spending time here as it is quiet and gets us away from everything and It has nice cool nights in the summertime. It is very centrally located in the Black Hills and close to so many attractions and is not far to go to town.

What makes this cabin unique

We love sitting out on the deck BBQing and just taking it easy, there is plenty of room for Kids/Grandkids to run and play in the beautiful lawn of lushes green grass. This Cabin has 10 acres for you to enjoy no other Cabins near by or other people that you have to share with. The cabin is very homey and comfortable with easy access. Cupboards are fully stocked for your convenience. Only 1/2 mile away is Crazy Horse Mt.

Private, cozy, relaxing and beautiful views!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here with our three year old in August (after the rally!). The cabin was perfect for what we were wanting. Relaxing mornings where we could make our own breakfast, take showers and go for walks around the area. My husband and son loved the yard out front and were playing frisbee every morning while I cooked breakfast right inside. Most mornings and evenings we could see deer running around the property. The kitchen/fridge helped us save money on food and separate rooms we were able to put our son to bed while we stayed awake and played cards. Most hotels you aren't able to do that! The air conditioning is only in the living room so most nights were a little warm in the bedrooms. There are fans provided that help out with that and we opened the windows for some fresh air. There is no bath tub so our three year old got to take his first shower - he was very proud! Our five day vacation was cut short due to all of us coming down sick but we will definitely be back next year. Amazing place to stay and well taken care of. You will feel so relaxed and rejovinated staying here.

Perfect for us!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was perfect for our visit to Custer. It was close to everything that we wanted to do and yet we had our privacy too - we felt like we were a resident versus tourists! We had our 2 kids (12 and 7) with us. It was nice to have the 2 bedrooms and we also took advantage of the washer and dryer and kitchen; and of course the TV. We would definitely stay here again if we ever are in the area. Laura was a great host, I'd highly recommend staying here!

great place for family gathering

  • 5 of 5

If one is looking for a peaceful and tranquil setting, the Ponderosa Cabin nestled among the Black Hills and central to all attractions is the place to rent. Fully equipped and comfortable, this place offered our extended family the opportunity to share a wonderful experience in the Black Hills. Our grandchildren loved playing soccer in the enormous field while the adults enjoyed wonderful views from the front deck. The owner was very friendly and accomodating. Without reservation we would recommend the cabin to anyone.

A Great Getaway in the Heart of the Black Hills!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of six stayed here in June of 2013 for a week. This place was ideal. It is very clean, well equipped, and is close to the main road into Custer or any of the surrounding areas and places to see. It is in a quiet neighborhood and we felt like we had our very own slice of heaven in the Black Hills.

The cabin is probably best suited for a couple or family of four, but our family of six fit just fine as we made use of the pullout couch. The beautiful deck out front is fitted with lawn chairs and a grill and made from some great cookouts at the end of our days of sightseeing. Our kids could go out in the yard and play ball and we saw friendly deer in the yard nightly.

This place is clean, well kept up, and absolutely perfectly located. We did things like: Custer State Park, Devils Tower in WY, Mount Rushmore, the 1880s Train in Hill City, Deadwood, etc. and we felt the drive from this central location was ideal. The photos are great, but they are not able to show you the beautiful, quiet setting that you will get. You will love this place. Laura was great to work with and made our stay very easy. I thought this was the best value of our entire trip!

1/2 Mile from the Michelson Trail great for cross country biking, Hiking or Horse Back Riding. Crazy Horse Mt is also only 1/2 mile away. Very Close to Custer State Park where you can do lots of sightseeing, Cave Exploring, Rock Climbing, Fishing, Swimming, where Buffalo and Elk Roam. Custer area is also great for your Hunting Needs in the Fall or Winter Sports. 11 miles to the 1880 Train in Hill City and 18-20 miles to Mt Rushmore.
