The condo has 2 bedrooms with AC and 2 enclosed full bathrooms, large living room and large terrace (both with ocean view), extra high ceilings, marble floors, fully equipped Italian kitchen, ceiling fans in every room, Internet, flat-screen TV with DVD, stereo CD and iPod player. The best property facing the most beautiful beach in Las Terrenas. There is an infinity Olympic pool on the property. Tennis court and a bar.
We are professional educators of semi-retired age. We're based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and saw Las Terrenas as the perfect place to spend part of the year.
Boris Kazansky purchased this condo in 2012
This property offers both seclusion and access. It has luxury amenities and 24-hour security and immediate beach access, all while while being only 5 minutes from the noise and bustle of the town of Las Terrenas. Among the amenities offered are the Olympic size infinity pool, the clubhouse and the bar.The restaurant will be open in the near future.
We've traveled all over the Caribbean as well as South and Central America, and Las Terrenas is our favorite place. It's beaches are undeveloped, the town is lovely, and the area is full of unique sightseeing opportunities.
I WOULD BE HONORED TO GO BACK TO THIS HOUSE!!!..Great experience. Boris, Jacqueline, Antoinette and Norma were very helpful, always there whenever we needed anything. The apartment was beautiful, two bedrooms each with its own bathroom. One of the rooms has a two twin beds that are combined together for couples. Norma came every morning till 12pm, she made the beds and cleaned the house.
When we arrived Antoinette met us outside the residence. She gave us a tour and took us back outside to look at the electricity meter. You do pay for how much of it you use but its close to nothing in my opinion. At night it is not very hot so AC and fan weren't used.
There is construction going on but we didnt even noticed due to how quiet they were.
The beach is amazing, soft sand and clean water. Towards the far left there is a small river that connects with the beach and the sand turns into black sand (sounds weird but its not. very pretty and super soft.). I recommend this 100% i have nothing negative to say.
Great access to a gorgeous beach and a short walk to some wonderful restaurants on the beach. Comfortable beds but living rooms no patio furniture was uncomfortable. All that said, we would go back without hesitation.
Playa Bonita is peaceful, beautiful, very nice for swimming, and safe for children. Walking to the west, the waves are a little rougher and good for beginning surfers, boogie boards and body surfing. A couple of days were more calm and people were paddle boarding as well. If you continue around the point, you find a long stretch of calm beach, good for finding shells and beach combing and eventually bigger waves of Playa Coson. Overall, the beaches of Samana are among the most beautiful I've seen.
The pool is excellent and close enough to the beach that you still hear and feel the crash of the surf. There is a small bar where you can pick up a cocktail in the evening and there appears to be a restaurant under construction. Other small bars and restaurants are within walking distance down a well lit path to the west, however to reach Las Terranes and its many restaurant options requires a car.
The condo is well constructed and nicely finished. We slept comfortably with windows open and never turned on the a/c, although as one reviewer noted the beds are a little firm. The kitchen is well equipped with a small range, oven, refrigerator, dishes, utensils, and pans. We cooked very little, but it was nice to have snacks and beverages on hand.
Bath towels and beach towels (4) were available, but there is no daily housekeeping, so we ended up doing frequent loads of laundry in the small stackable washer-dryer located in the unit. There also are no beach chairs available, so you will be sitting in the sand when not in the water.
Overall, this was a nice place to stay as advertised. This was our first VRBO experience. It was nice to have freedom from typical resort restaurants and activities. However, if you value daily maid service, beach amenities, onsite dining and concierge, then this may not be the best fit. I also would highly recommend renting a car if staying on Playa Bonita so you can venture into town to buy supplies and eat out.
Day trips to Playa El Valle, cascade El Limon, Las Galleras, Playa Rincon, and Playa Fronton were amazing. We went boating with Playita Sub to snorkel and visit playas Fronton and Rincon. Driving in the DR is an adventure, but if you stay alert and enjoy the views, you will see people and places unlike anywhere else. We also enjoyed playas Ballenas, Las Terranes, and El Limon, the sailing club, Mi Corazon and its bakery downstairs. We loved our Dominican adventure.
The location is fantastic, and the beach is just down a lovely path. I completely fell in love with the beach there. The complex was very nice. The kitchen was very nice, and the beds had very firm mattresses. The outdoor seating was nice as well. The bathrooms are en suite and beautiful. The view from the outdoor dining room was amazing!
The property is excellent, all the details well finished, can't be in a better location. No matter if we are going with the family or just escaping with a couple. The conditions are non comparable, new clothes, very good housekeeping service and all the amenities you want to find in a place like this. I really encourage you to take the chance to visit this place.
Samana has always been considered the most beautiful part of the Dominican Republic; a natural paradise with incredible beaches, mountain chain, national parks, and a bay that hosts the yearly migration and birthing of humpback wales. The town of Las Terrenas is a unique blend of Caribbean and Mediterranean culture. About 50% of the population is European. Aside from numerous fresh fruit and seafood vendors (there is a fish market right on the beach,) there are several French bakeries and pastry shops, a great variety of European food, and Swiss, German, French, Belgian, and Dominican restaurants lining the town. Until recently, the region of Samana was quite remote, with 5 hours of travel required from Santo Domingo. But a brand new highway from Santo Domingo makes it a short 2 hour trip by car or easily accessible bus, and there's an international airport only 15 miles away offering direct flights from New York, Boston, Toronto and Europe.
