Our premier south-facing mountain view chalet is located in a small 'n intimate resort just minutes away from downtown Canmore. We are proudly & independently owner-operated -- Out'n About Vacation Chalets was established January 1st, 2012. Our numerous customer reviews speak for themselves.

Imagine stepping from your car and into our pristine, cozy and comfortable Rocky Mountain-themed chalet. You'll be rewarded with awe-inspiring mountain views from our south facing windows and patio. Kick back and relax in front of the fire, or head out with your family or companions to our year round heated outdoor pool and hot tub for a well-deserved soak. Our 900 sq. ft. two-story chalet (maximum of 6 occupants) has two bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and is fully and very comfortably furnished. The well equipped kitchen comes complete with a complimentary Keurig coffee maker along with a selection of K-Cups, and a "Pay it Forward" mini-bar for your enjoyment. We’ve also added a blender for your healthy smoothies to start off the day, a slow cooker and rice cooker for savoury family-friendly comfort meals simmering away while you’re out ‘n about. If you prefer to chill 'n grill, two common area BBQ’s are nestled in our lovely, private common area courtyard steps away from our chalet.

We offer many personal touches to enhance your stay. These include private, free, high speed, VERY reliable WIFI and besides Cable TV, we have also have installed Smart/AppleTV/Netflix TV options so you can enjoy hundreds of on-demand movies, TV shows, concerts, WSJ Live, Bloomberg channels for news, and more! In addition, your stay includes a complimentary copy of the owners "Out'n About Banff & Canmore" guidebook that's chock full of great ideas on what to do in our wonderful area. We know you'll love it! And, in 2017, entry into Banff National Park is FREE!! It's Canada's 150th birthday so come on over and help us celebration 150 years of Confederation eh!

Situated around our welcoming courtyard, immerse yourself in Canmore's pristine mountain community -- Canmore residents are listed as some of the happiest people in Canada! Our lovely resort is a 10-minute walk to downtown Canmore – a wonderful uncomercialized western mountain town that now boasts over 100 unique shops and 75+ gourmet restaurants. There are kilometers of forested walking paths located just outside our doors. You might also want to check out Canmore's new $40M recreation center – Elevation Place – boasting a huge climbing wall, multiple pools, a lazy river, watersides, hot tub, steam room, library, art gallery, drop in fitness/yoga classes and a great work out facility.

Our chalet is a 15 minute drive to the BANFF/LAKE LOUISE NATIONAL PARK gates and a 20 minute drive over to the KANANASKIS and PETER LOUGHHEED PROVINCIAL PARKS – a year-round recreational and scenic paradise right at your doorstep. We are a 50 minute drive up to spectacular Lake Louise.

About Donna Scott

We bought two chalets at Mystic Springs as vacation properties/investments to enjoy with our two daughters while living in Edmonton. We loved Canmore so much, we moved here permanently in 2005. As an avid outdoor family, we've hiked, biked, kayaked, rock-climbed, nordic and downhill skied everywhere throughout our wonderful area -- Canmore and Banff are truly a mountain lovers four season paradise. We know you'll love it too!

This is by far the most unique family friendly property in Canmore. Only 44 townhome-style units comprise this quaint resort and all are wrapped around a beautiful courtyard that houses a huge outdoor pool that is heated year-round and a fabulous 12-person hot tub. We loved the fact that you can drive right up to your chalet - no elevators, long corridors to deal with while unloading all your gear. It is a full 2 storey townhome concept so there is no one tromping around on top of you either - nice and quiet! Our chalets also have ski lockers to safely store your gear. There are picnic tables and barbecues beside the pool area that are available to use. There is also a common area movie/games room with a 65' flat screen 3D TV equipped with XBox Kinect, 3D movies and ping pong/foos ball tables everyone will enjoy. A true home away from home in a friendly, intimate boutique resort community.

Very enjoyable, Relaxing and Reenergizing

Thank you for the lovely stay in this chalet. We enjoyed how comfy and cozy the place was. So many small touches by the owners that made it extra special. Especially the the beautiful art work all around the chalet.

Great location for walking to anywhere. Especially love walking scenic Policeman's Creek Boardwalk to take us into down town.

Condo was comfortable but there were issues

I would have given the property a 5 star, however when we arrived there was a hockey bag full of dirty towels and linens sitting at the front door. Although there were 5 of us staying at the condo there were only 4 bath towels and two face cloths and reservations were made in February. When I contacted the owner she said she'd deliver some at 9 the next morning but when they didn't arrive I messaged her and she'd forgotten but delivered them a little later. There was a cracker and crumbs under the sofa table and in the sofa bed, the living room could definitely have been cleaner. There was a spider in a web in the corner by the sofa bed. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was clean and overall condo was comfortable. I would suggest some board games and a deck of cards would be a great addition.

Cozy, comfortable and close to all things we wanted to do.

The unit is clean and cozy. It is decorated well with unique touches of the owners art and decorative cabin style. The bedrooms/bathrooms were perfect for our family of four. The kitchen is stocked with all the necessary items and we used it everyday for breakfast and one other meal - which saved us some money. (Grocery store choices: Sav-On in town is good; Safeway is great!) While on the subject of eating... the commons area of this complex has a grilling station and some of the other guys from other units were using it on occasion making the outdoors smell incredible around dinner time! I will do the same on our next trip :-). I also suggest trying the Rocky Mountain Flatbread Co. in downtown Canmore. Incredible food, great lunch and dinner menus at a reasonable price (lunch menu saves a few dollars).

Back to this unit- It does have an electric fireplace which puts out some heat, but not too much and it is nice to look at. There is a tv on top of the fireplace. Not that you will want to spend much time watching it while here, but there is limited channel availability. We were able to find a station out of Seattle to watch our home state Oregon Ducks basketball team lose by 1 point in the Final Four match :-(.

The swimming pool and hot tub area is great! It is a good thing they are both large because they both get a lot of use by a lot of families with small children. It was fun watching families play together and enjoying the heated water. It snowed heavily one evening and created a fun chance to swim with snowflakes collecting on our heads! The hot tub is covered and there is also a private shower room. This unit provided plenty of beach towels to use and also a couple of robes.

We called the owner while here to find out if we needed National Park passes to go enjoy our planned activities and she was very nice to speak with. We did not need passes because this year is the 150th anniversary celebration. I tell you that because there is a note on the fridge asking you to leave passes where you found them. However, there are no passes here in 2017.

One last thing: the owner has written an incredible guide for the best activities in the Canmore and Banff areas. We used it to make our plans and are so glad she provided such great advice! You will want to read it and the updated information in the binder on the coffee table.

This is a very nice place and a great way to spend an enjoyable vacation. We will be back.

Enjoyed my Stay

I spent 2 weeks here. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Very cosy, comfortable unit.

The kitchen is well equipped for cooking, easy access to the pool and hot tub. I like that I could park right outside the front door.

Wonderful Ski Week at Donna's Place

We had been referred to Donna's chalet by friends of ours and we were very pleased with our choice. The chalet was spotless and thoughtfully decorated with many extra touches. The beds were super comfortable. Our children loved the "Harry Potter" closet that was full of toys. We cooked almost every night and had everything we needed and more.

Just steps from the pool and hot tub, we spent many hours enjoying them after a day on the ski hills. This chalet also has great mountain views which would be lovely to enjoy on the patio in warmer weather. Donna was very helpful and gave us some great ideas on other activities to do during the winter time - one highlight was the secret tobogganing hill just past the Goat Creek parking lot. Fun! We will be back.
