Great Stay All Around

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful find! We all loved Bob and Julie and their entire family (plus Yukon)! This place was so unique and quaint. The kids especially loved playing in the pond and fishing on the hot July days. They had fun playing croquet, horse shoes, volley ball, and bocci ball too! It has a remote feel, but in a short drive you can be to a famous drive in and putt putt course, and Letchworth State Park is close as well. Letchworth is so beautiful and you can easily spend an entire day there hiking around and seeing the waterfalls. We also visited Niagara Falls for a day trip and that was less than an hour and 1/2 away. All around this rental was so much more than "a rental" it felt like home away from home and the hospitality of our hosts made it even more perfect!

Staying in the Bungalow was a great experience. It is like stepping back in time. We are a foursome of two retired couples who travel together a few times a year. The accommodations were clean, homey & had great character. The property was wonderful to explore. Bob & Julie were so caring in guiding our tours, attention to detail and making us feel so welcomed. We came to see the Niagra Falls and their beauty but were so delighted to be in such a central location to visit so many great destinations. It definitely exceeded our expectations.

love this place!

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I took a glass class in Batavia for 7 days and stay in this sweet little bungalow. We really enjoyed it! Here is what they did well:

The owners were very nice and easy to work with

The home was very clean

loved the old record player and the records (we played old music every night)

The two bedrooms were very large

one of the bathrooms is very large and the other is very small

the grounds were amazing with trails, pond and privacy

the kitchen was fully equipped and we used it every night to make dinner

huge dining room

nice fireplace that could be handy in the winter

loved the fresh bread when we arrived

Here is what they could add to make it even better (I would rebook this location even if they did not add the following minor items)

a sharp kitchen knife

a full size mirror in the first bedroom

curtains in the lower bedroom

loved the games in the family room

WE really enjoyed this house and the owners.

Perfect, memorable and unique

  • 5 of 5

We drove from Virginia with my 84 year old mother so we could have an old fashioned Thanksgiving and so she could she her 86 year old brother who lives in Batavia. The Bungalow is exquisite. It could not have been more perfect for our event. The photos are accurate but don't capture all the charm packed into the Bungalow. Julie and Bob were attentive and friendly and made us feel at home. There is plenty of room, some spaces cozy and others large and comfortable even for many quests. The gourmet kitchen and dining room were excellent for our Thanksgiving shindig. As it turns out, my mother grew up just a few miles away so we spent most of the week on memory lane. We already asked Julie about returning next year.

The Perfect Bungalow

  • 5 of 5

From the first moment I stepped into the Bungalow I was just awestruck. Literally, a "wow" must have left my mouth as I entered each room. This place has so much character and history!

This hidden gem is perfect for a family traveling together, which is what we were doing on our visit. There was plenty of room for all of us to spread out, however, there was also great common areas for us to spend time together. I could also see this place being great for a scrap-booking retreat, there is plenty of table/workspace available.

Julie and Robert were great hosts. We arrived late in the evening our first night and Julie made herself available to give us a tour/orientation of the property. The next morning I was amazed at how large the property actually was (hard to tell initially because of our late arrival). The grounds are very well maintained, plenty of trails, and a feeling of serenity all around the area but also great space to have a small and fun get together.

There are plenty of activities to have on property (volleyball, horseshoes, croquet, barbecue, etc.) as well as places nearby to explore. On property, I myself enjoyed the relaxing in the hammocks and walking by the pond...oh and climbing up to the the tree house! One morning I even enjoyed a cup of coffee on the porch while watching a dear hang out and enjoy the grounds too.

The location of BF Bungalow was perfect. My family visited Letchworth, did a tour of some of the vineyards at Finger Lakes, went to Niagara Falls. Julie and Bob offered tips on things to do and the best places to pick up a few necessities.

I wish our stay was longer, as I would have also like to explore the many acres nearby. When I'm in the area next, I will most definitely be checking in to see if this home away from home is available.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

  • 5 of 5

We had truly lovely time at BF Bungalow. The house is even more impressive in person than what the pictures show. Our hosts were super hospitable and made us feel very welcome. The grounds are picturesque and lovingly maintained. My only regret is that I didn't get out and hike the trails more. There's lots of laid back fun to be had right there on the grounds - volleyball, horseshoes, swimming in the pond, hiking or just relaxing with a book under the trees. My husband spent several peaceful hours reading by the goldfish pond and our teens/young adult kids enjoyed chilling on the hammock under the trees. We also made trips to Letchworth Park, Niagara Falls and even saw a rodeo in nearby Attica. The area is very rural and a welcome change of landscape from my own suburban/urban setting. It's beautiful country of mountain hills and farmland as far as the eye can see. Highly recommended.
