About the property

Sound Front Beach House(sleeps 22)

CALLING ALL WATER LOVERS – YOU CAN FISH FROM YOUR OWN PRIVATE 2-STORY DECK DIRECTLY ON THE WATER AT “REEL PARADISE”. REEL PARADISE has the best location, best amenities and the best price on Pensacola Beach! Bring your boats, jet skis, paddleboards, kayaks and every other water toy to a beautiful new waterfront beach house. Imagine yourself enjoying spectacular sunsets on the multiple decks; walking to exciting beach activities and cooking out with family and friends while watching the fish (and dolphins) jump. Reel Paradise “reely” has it ALL!

At just over 2,200 square feet, Reel Paradise is 2 to 3 times the size of the typical beach house rental. The prior owners completed two major renovations adding a large wood beamed sun room off the back the house and later added a 1,000 square foot second story and main floor mud room. These additions almost tripled the size of the original structure. Adding to the expansive feel of Reel Paradise are the vaulted ceilings and the 2,000 square feet of deck which make the house seem massive. There is plenty of room at Reel Paradise for several families to enjoy a beach vacation together.

Everything at Reel Paradise is brand new after a complete interior and exterior gut completed February 2013. We hired local muralist and jewelry designer, Rachel Bodie, to assist with our interior redesign. Her concept for the space was 'Sea and Sand' and along with the front door mural and fishing pole logo, Rachel filled Reel Paradise with light filled blues, greys and caramel tones which are soothing and warm, relaxing and inviting.

During the reconstruction we included every imaginable upgrade such as granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, flat-screen TVs, wireless internet, cable TV and beautiful tile throughout. Reel Paradise has 6 bedrooms (the 4 downstairs bedrooms share a door and closet). The 4 downstairs bedrooms have 1 queen size bed. The upstairs master has a king Bed. The last bedroom upstairs has 2 queen size beds and 2 double size futons. The futons are not for adult use but are perfect for children. There are 2 queen size sleeper sofas in the living room. In summary, Reel Paradise sleeps 12 adults in the 6 queen size beds, s adults in a king bed, 4 adults in 2 queen size sleeper sofas and 4 children in 2 double futrons. This is a total of 18 adults and 4 children.

Because of a unique location, Reel Paradise is the perfect home for extended family get aways with something for every member of your party. Those with small children will appreciate the steps off the back deck which lead directly into the calm water of Santa Rosa Sound. Children (and adults) can splash and play in the water without the threat of big waves or a dangerous undertow. The back deck also has an outdoor shower with both hot and cold taps to rinse off beach sand before heading indoors. Located directly across from the house is a charming little beach park, perfect for using up youngster energy without parents having to get wet! Reel Paradise has its OWN private sandy beach on its sound front lot.

Adult members of your group will appreciate that Reel Paradise is less than a quarter mile from the main beach attractions. After a night of dining and dancing Reel Paradise is a short walk home, eliminating the need for taxis or designated drivers. Remember to bring your bicycles and skate boards since there is a paved path that extends for miles in both directions on the beach. There is also a trolley stop directly across the street from the subdivision for other beach destinations.

At the end of the every night all members of your group will appreciate the 2,000 square feet of deck (covered and uncovered; both 1 and 2 story) to watch spectacular sunsets over the water while enjoying your favorite beverage.

Come stay at our home with family and friends and enjoy your “slice of paradise” at Reel Paradise. Call or email Buck today to book your next vacation at (850) 293-6491

Thanksgiving Stay

  • 3 of 5

The best part of this property is its location on the sound. The outside area is wonderful and relaxing.

The inside is dated and choppy. It is a much older home that needs some further attention. The kitchen is lacking in cabinets and kitchen tools for cooking and cleaning for a larger group. The four bedrooms downstairs share a common wall so those sharing those rooms do not have complete privacy. The upstairs rooms are very nice but can only be accessed from a spiral staircase inside or an outside staircase.

Buck, the owner, responded immediately to our needs. We did note that the house could have been cleaner and we made Buck aware of the situation.

If you spend the majority of your time outside you will enjoy this house.

Unhappy With the House...

  • 2 of 5

I normally don't take the time to review houses, hotel rooms, or other places that I have rented over the years, but this one I feel like I have to. When I rented this house, I knew that it was in a great location. I grew up in Pensacola, so I know the area really well. By looking at the pictures, I also knew that this house is an older house. My expectations weren't high. Upon arrival, The location was even better than I had hoped. The back of the house is literally right on the water. But, it all went downhill the moment you open the front door. The house is really dated. The sofas, chairs, mattresses, and just about everything else needs to be replaced. I had to buy white sheets to cover the two sofas because it was dirty and had a musty smell. We never slept on the sofa beds because it was too uncomfortable. The rug that is in the front hall was so dirty that anyone who walks on it will have black feet. I rolled it up and put it aside after I realized that the rug was the cause. The kitchen lacks pots, pans, knives, etc. that will be enough to cook and dine for 22 people. We only had 15 in our group and it was not enough. We had to go out and buy a larger pot, larger pan, and some plastic plates and bowls. The bedrooms were great if you change out for new mattresses. The 3 Bathrooms were ok once the plumber came and fixed the clog that should have been fixed before we arrived. But the worst problem of them all has to be the Rats and Gigantic Roaches that runs all over the place, especially the back of the house. Growing up in Pensacola myself, I know the problems that we had with roaches. But, this is a house that you are renting out to people for a very decent rate, the least you can do is to have it free of rodents and roaches. I had a roach climb into my short while sitting down to eat. There are so many other things wrong with the house, but that will take too long to type. Buck was great, he got things done when I need to call him to fix a problem. This review is not meant to badmouth the owner of this house, but to inform future renters. My advice to the owners, put some money into the house. You don't have do much to make the house amazing. Buy some new furniture, mattresses, etc. And please, call an exterminator. I will definitely stay here again if you would just update the house. Like I said, I love the location.

Owner's Response: Alex, I'm sorry you were disappointed with your stay. i appreciate you itemizing your complaints in your review and we use them to make any needed updates and changes to our house. I wish you would have contacted me with some of your complaints because I would have responded right away to do whatever it took to make you happy. Our house is an older house and that is reflected in the weekly rate we charge to stay at our house. We are approximately $2000 per week less expensive than other houses on the water in Pensacola Beach specifically because our house is an older house. We do have a pest control plan for our house and have the interior and exterior treated quarterly and as needed in between. If you would have contacted me concerning any insects inside the house our pest control company would have come out to respray ASAP. I have very little control over any insects or wildlife located on the outside of our house that like people, are drawn to the water. The Pensacola Beach mouse is a protected species and there is nothing I can do about their presence around our house and I cannot do anything to destroy their habitat either. I realize some of these mice are quite large but my hands are tied as far as their presence on the island. Most of the furniture on our house is less than two years old but because people come to stay on vacation, it receives hard use and wears out quickly. We will definitely be evaluating the condition of the furniture and mattresses and have already contacted several guests who have stayed in our house recently for suggestions for improving our house. wonderful backyard on the sound!!!

  • 4 of 5

Before you read this review - I will say - I would stay here again for sure!

The backyard is the best thing about this place. Being right on the sound was so great for the little kids and for the adults!! This is basically what you are paying for and it's fantastic. Now, onto the house. It definitely fit all 10 of us quite nicely. But, it definitely could use some things to make the stay a bit easier. There are basically 6 bedrooms (4 share a wall). None of the bedrooms have a dresser. It would be nice if at least the 2 master bedrooms had dressers. There are closets and hangers but I don't use hangers for shorts/socks.... The dryer barely worked. It took 3 hours to dry a load of towels. I'm sure that is an easy fix. The kitchen doesn't have a ton of storage space which was a problem because of having food for 10 people. But, we made it work by putting some of our stuff on the bar top. Also, bring toilet paper and trash bags. You only get one role per bathroom. I missed that on the contract.

When we got there we had an issue. The wonderful cleaning person RC was still there. There as an error on the day we were to arrive. But, RC handled like a champ and got us taken care of. The owner Buck is super friendly and very helpful.

Like I said, I would stay here again but it would be nice to have a few things added for creature comfort.

I've been coming to Pensacola beach for 4 years in a row for memorials day weekend. This is hands down the BEST house I have stayed in!! The only issue is the toilet constanty ran and made it seem like it was angry at us. Other than that it was perfect for my group!

We rented the place for my baby girl's wedding. We loved it. There was so much room. We were not on top of one another the whole time. I will be renting again. The Bride was so happy along with the family. Could not ask for a better location right on the beach. Grand kids had so much fun playing in the water. I would recommend for anyone who has a big group or small.
