We didn't know what to expect when we decided to book a villa instead of an all-inclusive for our
family vacation this year. We were fortunate there was an opening in a home large enough to hold our family of 15.
What we found was paradise in Casa Buena Suerte. From the first evening we arrived until this sad day of our departure
every detail was taken care of.
Jose & Carlos cooked delicious fresh foods and always enough for our big eaters. Sofia and Aurelio were always on hand to
keep the place sparkling and help if we needed them. What a great staff!!
Thanks for a wonderful week in a beautiful home!!
The Guy Family
I found this glorious home to rent and there's a reason Casa Buena Suerte is so highly rated--it is a dream vacation. We were 5 couples and spent a glorious week there. I highly recommend it. If there were ten stars I would award them. Even though we were ten people, the layout of the home allowed us to be either together or private any time we wanted.
THE HOUSE is just perfect and decorated with wonderful art works. Once inside the gate you’re in a secluded enclave with its own section of beach. The rooms and beds are comfortable, with all but one with a view of the sea. Two bedrooms are accessible. We ate all of our meals outdoors on a shaded patio. Another patio is directly on the beach. There is a huge pool and many different areas to relax, including a wonderful rooftop for viewing the sunsets and shaded hammocks.. We had every service here that we could imagine. (p.s. There were no mosquitos).
THE FOOD is delicious. Two chefs—Jose and Rodolfo, were always in the kitchen tending to our every need. When we arrived they met us with margaritas, amazing ceviche and guacamole, which we continued to eat twice a day! They seemed willing to make anything, but we encouraged them to make the decisions. Their style of Mexican cooking was not spicy and suited us perfectly. Their breakfasts were absolutely sumptuous. We requested lighter lunches and they accommodated us. In the evening we chose to have drinks on the roof top and our chefs served us an array of appetizers—bringing them up to the roof for us.
THE STAFF couldn’t be nicer. When we arrived, Hugo bounded out to meet us and it felt like we were reuniting with an old friend! He functions as the property manager/ concierge. His ear is always to the ground and he checked up on us at various times throughout the day yet was never obtrusive. He is a treasure beyond belief and the owner of Casa Buena Suerte really had Buena Suerte the day they hired him.
SERVICES I was shocked that Sophia even did our laundry!! Above and beyond the call of duty! The rooms were cleaned each day.
SWIMMING is ok, but represents a bit of a challenge. The bay water is warm, but there are rocks and seaweed.I have a few tips: One is to use the water shoes which the owners of the house have thoughtfully provided. The other is to walk down the road exactly 6 minutes (or along the beach) to a public beach that is still rather private and where the water is clear. All in all, it’s not a big deal!
We were lucky enough to spend a week at this amazing property. From the moment we were warmly greeted by Hugo, the house manager, to the last hugs as we parted, we felt overwhelmed with the beauty and perfection of Casa Buena Suerte. This is a remarkable place. The other reviews have described the details of the entire villa and it's wonderful staff. What can't be described is the soft breezes, the colors of the sea, and the joy at sharing this experience with our children and grandchildren. The beauty of this property is that you never want to leave. The wonderful food, beautiful sea with it's coral reef, different locations inside and outside, made this a true gem of a vacation for the 10 month old to the grandparents. We all knew (including the 13, 11, and 7 year olds), that we had experienced something special. My only complaint was that we had to leave and fend for ourselves in the world. We were so effortlessly spoiled and can't wait to return.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Buena Suerte. We found the house a great mix of elegant design and casual comfort. We were impressed even beyond what we had seen in the listing photos. The decor is lovely and sophisticated, lots of rich wood and architectural details that reminded us of the grand haciendas we’d visited on the Yucantan peninsula. The spaces are large and airy, we had plenty of natural sea breezes so we never bothered with air-conditioning (but its there if you need it).
The bedroom suites are generous in size with large ensuite bathrooms. The beds, linens, pillows were all very comfortable. The fantastic staff made sure that the house and the grounds were carefully tended everyday. We took some meals in and some out, all of the meals at the house were delicious. The owner is very involved, supervising the staff to assure that everything is tip-top, and checking to make sure that we were enjoying everything.
We really liked the big outdoor dining area with the massive grill and the cushioned seating area for breakfast.Nice and shady when we wanted to get out of the sun.
We spent most of our time on the beachfront, it was pristine and the water was crystal clear. The waves are very calm as the large coral reef encircling the bay is protective. We felt secure kayaking out to see the fish and turtles. We loved swimming in the ocean and at the end of most days we refreshed by jumping into the large freshwater infinity pool. When we overdid things a bit the manager organized a wonderful Mayan massage therapist to come to the villa. Lovely.
My husband and I, our 3 Daughters, their husbands and our 8 Grandchildren spent the week before Christmas at this beautiful house. It was perfect. The house is beautiful, inside and out. The staff is wonderful and attentive to all of us, especially the children. Hugo, the House manager, was especially helpful with the 9 month old baby. The chef and his brother were fabulous as was the food. Amazing how inexpensive the food was. The rooms were kept very neat and clean. The beds were so comfortable. And the 2 men working on the grounds were fantastic and very hard workers.Marc, the owner, was so helpful with all details which made our arrival and week there easy and stress free. Thanks to all involved in making this a perfect vacation. We would love to come back again. Thanks
This was a family Thanksgiving, 2 Grandparents, 6 Children and 4 Grandchildren.
The Owner arranged everything we needed from airport pickup, rental car delivery, a
superb housekeeping, ground and kitchen staff. In consultation with the staff we chose the meals for the day and were pampered and well looked after for the whole week we were there. The seaweed was a problem but the staff had it raked up every morning, the beach was wonderful for digging in and there were plenty of close by beaches with breakers. The ruins at Tulum were enjoyable but our favourites were those of Coba where the children were able to climb everywhere and cycle between the buildings. The pool was great, fresh and not too cold. The hacienda manager was Hugo, for whom nothing was too difficult.
He arranged a double birthday party, cake, favours, pinata and all.
We would all love to come again!
Thank you Marc Kenneth for a most extraordinary week-long experience at your beautiful (BEAUTIFUL!) villa! After doing exhaustive research on private villas all over the world, we opted for this lovely property for reasons outlined below:
Location -- the property sits on the beach of Solimon Bay, a quiet leeward body of water on the east coast of Mexico, 10 km north of Tulum with very little tourism but enough fine dining, water activities, golf and luxe to make it an ideal location for us.
The Villa -- since the owner is an interior designer, you can imagine that all the details in this casa are beautifully appointed; from the stonework, to the window blinds, and gorgeous domed brick interior ceilings with sky-lights, a gorgeous pool (the largest in Solimon Bay - including that at the Jashita Hotel, a luxury boutique hotel 1/2 mile down the beach), nothing could beat this place. are too many adjectives to describe how wonderful our House Manager Hugo was. Professional, anticipatory, fun, playful, semi-fluent in English (although it helped that we had two Spanish speaking guests with us). Hugo is simply a delight of a man and made our stay most memorable. Sophia, our housekeeper was diligent and careful to maintain the 100% spotless state of the interior.
Although we married stateside the week before, we wanted a magical place to exchange our symbolic vows with close friends and family. All dreams were made real here. The villa will comfortably sleep 12, and I understand it can accommodate additional kids if necessary. Each bedroom has a private sumptuous bathroom, one with an open-air shower. Three have bidets. All have lovely modern fixtures. All rooms are air-conditioned, including the main part of the house with its bold cathedral ceilings. HDTV (although we never watched, but should there have been rainy days, there were DVD selections available) along with a comprehensive stocked library. The grounds are beautiful and the labor-intensive upkeep was evident. The property's outdoor workers were unobtrusive and maintained the grounds fastidiously.
Marc worked with our wedding planner to ensure that all details were ironed out before we arrived. Marc was helpful in ensuring that our expectations were met, right down to where we might like to dine or to take day trips.
In summary, getting married is a big deal, and of course any bride and groom wants to ensure that the experience goes off without a hitch. CBS made our dreams come true!!
We are just located north of Tulum, approximately 2 miles south of Xel Ha in the gated secure community of Soliman Bay.
