About this property

Charming and Peaceful Amagansett Vacation Home

A slice of heaven. This nearly an acre property retains the charm of a bygone era. This was the location of all of the bootlegging on the East End back in the era of Prohibition and the property still contains some remnants from that day. Large trees shade the spacious green lawn. There are lovely outdoor eating and entertaining spaces. The pool is separate from the main house but close enough to refresh your drinks. One side of the property has no housing, only a sleepy little riding stable that is obstructed by large trees. The opposite side of the property is a road on the other side of which are large trees hiding a two acre estate, the lights and sounds of which are nonexistent. On the two other side, two houses are located such that one can not hear the neighbors. It is peaceful and quiet.

A few steps from the house is Balsam Farms, a new organic market in Amagansett with the freshest produce.

The beach is exactly one mile away, close to walk or bike along a shaded road. Stop off in town, only a half a mile, and pick up a sandwich at Organic Krush, Jacks Coffee or Brents Deli and keep going to Indian Wells Beach.

The gardens mid summer are spectacular - hydrangeas abound as well as wisteria and many annuals and perrenials in the three major gardens as well as three other smaller gardens. The lawn is large and inviting.

The pool gets sun all day but you can easily take one of the six lounge chairs and find some shade under the huge, hundred year old oaks that are scattered around the property.

The main house has two bedrooms with queen sized beds and one with two twin beds. The master overlooks the back of the property with floor-to-ceiing windows and a lovely master bath. The second bedroom with queens is very large with a vaulted ceiling. The twin room is baby blue and gets lots of sunlight. A very peaceful and happy room! All bedrooms are upstairs.

The first floor has a proper living room as well as sun room looking out over the gardens and dining area. A den/TV room is attached to the sun room. The kitchen is fully stocked with a gas range and oven, dishwasher, refrigerator and lots of cooking utensils and storage.

This will be a vacation you won't forget!

Amagansett is my "special place." My house was designed around the things I love - friends, food, sunshine, and exercise. Laid back and casual so that people feel comfortable and at "at home." My happiest friend and family memories are here. There is nothing I love more than to hear people say "I had so much fun at your house" or "this place is magic" or "I can't wait to come back". I hope you will enjoy it too!

Why they chose this property

I chose Amagansett because it was the only town that retained the "old Hamptoms" charm. No big box retailers like Tiffanys and Gucci, just local stores like Marys Marvelous. And the town was a farming town so the property is surrounded with working farms. THe beaches are less crowded than the rest of the Hamptons and the scene is "laid back." You don't have to get dressed up to go you won't want to do if you are at my house anyway because cooking in and hanging out there is really great. And, no driving!

What makes this property unique

Loads of sun, nice clean and large pool. Large grass lawn with huge oak trees providing shade if you want it while, at the same time, the pool area is drenched in sun. Gardens are lovely. Perfect for entertaining and eating outside. Close to town but still a farm property near a working farm.
